“WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO FIGHT STATES RIGHTS”

|| By FITSNEWS || Poverty pimp, tragedy exploiter and tax evader Al Sharpton is calling on the federal government to take over law enforcement in all fifty states – which would obviously be one of the most massive usurpations of state and local power ever.

“We need the justice department to step in and take over policing in this country,” Sharpton told The Baltimore Sun in the aftermath of that city’s race riots.  “In the twentieth century they had to fight states’ rights … to get the right to vote.  Now we’re going to have to fight states rights’ in closing down police cases.”

Wow …

Sharpton’s comments come on the heels of similarly crazy statements made by U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn in the aftermath of a white-on-black North Charleston police shooting last month.

According to Clyburn, “stand your ground” laws – along with voter identification and redistricting – are what’s responsible for police violence against black citizens.

No really … of course this is the same guy who said we needed to “rethink the parameters of free speech” following the 2011 shooting of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Do we support federalizing law enforcement?  Under any circumstance?  Hell no …

We do, however, support independently wiring all police officers seeing as they have been discharged with performing one of the few core functions government ought to perform.  In fact we proposed as much in the immediate aftermath of the Ferguson drama last year.

No Democrat can ever win national elections without moderate Republicans and Independents voting for them. That’s just a fact. It’s also true in most districts of SC, for state legislature, etc. So being rabidly anti-Republican across the board, and refusing to ever seek common ground, is just as ignorant and wrong-headed in its own way as what GT does. Reminds me of a woman who ran for mayor in Myrtle Beach a few years ago. A nice person, really, and very well-intentioned. But she had such an intense hatred of Republicans that it poisoned everything she did in her campaign. Even though she had zero support from the local Democrats, who went mainly for the moderate Republican incumbent. She would, bless her heart, rant and rave about how everything that was wrong with the city was the fault of the “Repugnants.” Yes, she actually called them that. Never had a prayer of winning, or even of placing and showing.

That’s right! Take criminal law enforcement out of the hands of the racist mayor and police chief of Baltimore and put it in Obama’s hands. It’ll be the difference between night and day.

You gotta be f*cking kidding me? You are a smart guy BT. Read the news, I am sure you have contacts with SLED? Since Baltimore, awww….the police are being held more accountable. I might just get that smaller, better paid police force I have been begging for years?

Obama has done the right thing so far. Unless he came out with some stupid shit today I haven’t yet read…..he is probably going against what he believes for the sake of calamity?

Who is racist?

Reply
SYNTwist May 1, 2015 at 5:48 pm

Oh Scrappy, so you want to scrap? I didn’t vote for him, but he had a shit mess to start with. I would like to have seen what Romney “might” have done, but it probably would have been more of you cronyism? We don’t really know because he didn’t get the shit mess. Speculation is hindsight. Ron Paul – well hell, we might not even have America today based on his policies, but each to their own. That is why we get to vote.

Reply
Scrappy May 1, 2015 at 6:08 pm

We are not talking about Romney. You were talking about Obama. He and holder got the ball rolling with their quick judgement of the Ferguson shooting which was later determined to be JUSTIFIED.

Obama has shown ZERO leadership and has only fueled the issue more.

He will be remembered historically as the absolute worst POTUS in modern times.

SYNTwist May 1, 2015 at 6:40 pm

No, in fact we are talking about both candidates who had the best chance of being elected to office. I really don’t think Romney (who I voted for out of desperation) would have done much better a job.

Obama has been a leader, just not in areas that some of us appreciate. I do appreciate his position on the Baltimore Riot, trying to calm it down. I horribly disagree with is policy, but we are all a product of experience. Yes, he has fueled “some” issues, while calming others – it’s a shit job. I wouldn’t want it.

As someone once said, “how does it feel to be the first and last black president?” He laughed and I don’t think he will be the last, but he and GWB Jr. will be blamed for a mess created long before their time.

Both were leaders – it is up to us to decide if we want to lead or follow. The people spoke. The decision is still ours.

Alias The Buzzman May 2, 2015 at 12:31 am

I voted for Gary Johnson. But not out of desperation. I liked some of his ideas, but knew he had no chance of being elected. I knew SC would go overwhelmingly for Romney, so what did it matter? I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for either of the two main candidates. Haven’t voted for a major party candidate for POTUS since the first time Clinton ran.

shifty henry May 1, 2015 at 9:57 pm

— still a piss ant

Alias The Buzzman May 2, 2015 at 12:28 am

But Obama did say the rioters were criminals and thugs. Unlike the Mayor of Baltimore, I don’t think he ever rolled that statement back. He was absolutely right.

But the cops did kill that dude. Almost an execution, it appears. With, what, three of the cops being black?

That kind of shit would piss off Jesus Christ, and make him want to kick ass, worse than the whole money-changers in the temple thing.

FastEddy23 May 2, 2015 at 8:55 am

Black on black crime … But Gruberized media/g’ment complex would have us believe that the almost non-existent Baltimore whitey is to blame.

Alias The Buzzman May 2, 2015 at 9:55 am

It was black and white on black in this case, it turns out. The only thing the cops had in common is that they were cops. If they murdered, they murdered. But the fact remains, which some of you seem intent on ignoring, the POTUS himself said that the rioters were criminals and thugs. That’s significant. So is the fact that a black mayor (however much she might have fucked up) and a black AG are charging black officers with a crime in this case. Being partisan and ideological on every single issue is one thing — but letting it blind you to a glaringly obvious reality is another.

SYNTwist May 3, 2015 at 4:58 pm

I don’t discount the fact what they did was wrong, but anyone who is desperate enough, might act the same way? When all hope if gone, what is left? I had a criminal lawyer one tell me, the most dangerous person is someone who has nothing left to live for.

SYNTwist May 3, 2015 at 4:57 pm

It is sad, but I get make an effort to get into people’s mind. Why would they do this to their own home town? Desperation is the only thing I can come up with.

FastEddy23 May 2, 2015 at 8:53 am

We should be past the finger pointing by now. This whole bad deal started with Woodrow Wilson, anyway.

Alias The Buzzman May 2, 2015 at 9:50 am

Yeah, sez Glen Beck — who wears the magic underwear and thinks he’s a prophet sent by God to save America. Wilson did not demonize whites. In fact, he endorsed “Birth of a Nation”, a movie that glorified the KKK.

FastEddy23 May 3, 2015 at 8:46 am

“… he endorsed …” and implemented the federal income tax, the federal reserve and the continuous expansion of national government bureaucracy that has yet to stop expanding … the beginnings of the “progressive”/quasi-socialist elitist wing of the democrat party.

Alias The Buzzman May 3, 2015 at 9:49 am

OK. Thought you were saying he started the white-bashing.

SYNTwist May 3, 2015 at 5:01 pm

Isn’t that the *(**&(((**^%^**(*( who implemented our first tax increase? In all fairness, if memory serves (I do get names mixed up, tomorrow I might be calling you Freddy – ha!), it was an increase due to war? I have never really understood why they don’t just ask for donations v. increase. For example, on our tax return, for all your rich 1% who feel a certain way, I think there should be a special tax box that allows them to contribute unlimited to pay down the debt.

Further, who precisely would you have create, staff, and run this Orwellian dream of a nationalized police force? The Secret Service? Insert prostitution / drone / drunk joke here. The FBI? Man, so many ways to go there…Waco, Ruby Ridge, Centennial Park, we don’t have time. Maybe our Director of National Intelligence, whose most recent Threat Assessment for terrorist threats against the US omitted two minor details…like Iran and Hezbollah. Hate to disagree so strenuously, but this is just crazy talk…

SYNTwist May 3, 2015 at 5:20 pm

All good questions, but no solution. Not a massive police force of any size could have prevented some of those – i.e. Waco. Nuts will be nuts, but in the meantime, I do believe a smaller, better trained, better paid government (state level) is better.

While I do smoke those ugly cigarettes, we almost have to hide in the woods to smoke. That’s all.

Reply
Mike at the Beach May 3, 2015 at 11:14 pm

You gotta quit that…they kill you.

My questions weren’t about preventing nuts, but the nutty (and disastrous) federal responses to the nuts. Many of our local LE agencies can’t keep up with call for service volume now. For example, here in the Redneck Riviera you can wait anywhere from 5-90 minutes to get a black and white in your driveway (dependent upon where you live). Shrinking the force is not the answer.

SYNTwist May 4, 2015 at 11:04 am

I agree with the quitting part and the “nutty (and disastrous) federal responses to the nuts”

The rest, I suppose it depends on where you live, but when I lived in Greenville County, I felt there were way to many cops with too much time on their hands and unofficial quotas to meet.

Where I currently live, smaller force that works with the community. They even have community meetings because theft is up in this area. This is my preference.

Mike at the Beach May 3, 2015 at 11:21 pm

SYNTwist May 4, 2015 at 10:49 am

When I first read the hype about a federalized police force, I skimmed the article and wrongly assumed it was a joke, just more media hype. I don’t think that will ever pass. If states can’t do it, FG certainly can’t.

The good news? Obama will likely be out of office before any momentum is given to his federalized police force.

SYNTwist May 4, 2015 at 7:51 pm

Mike, you might find this interesting:

“* Crime in the United States is much higher than that reported to police but has probably not increased over the past 20 years.

* An increase in police appears to have no significant effect on the actual rate of violent crime and a roughly proportionate negative effect on the actual rate of property crime.

* An increase in corrections employees appears to have no significant effect on the violent crime rate and a small positive effect on the property crime rate.

* Crime rates are strongly affected by economic conditions. For example, an increase in per capita income appears to reduce both violent and property crime rates by a roughly proportionate amount.

* Crime rates are also affected by demographic and cultural conditions. For example, the violent crime rate increases with the share of births to single mothers.

* The demand for police and corrections employees is a negative function of the average salary of public employees, a positive function of per capita income and federal aid, and a positive function of the crime rates.

The major policy implication of this study is that, because we have so little knowledge of how to reduce crime, we should decentralize decisions on crime prevention and control, beginning with repeal of the 1994 federal crime law.

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.

Reply

No doubt. Hung them out to dry. What will now happen is police across the country will become much less proactive and just respond to calls when dispatched. Who could blame them?

I don’t know what happened in Baltimore but I sure as hell have seen NOTHING that would warrant charging these officers this quickly into this investigation. I just read yesterday where the Baltimore AG announced she was conducting a parallel investigation with BPD. Damn she works fast!

Now let me tell you how this will end. These officers will be acquited and the problems they thought they would avoid by “serving up” these officers to stop the protest will seem like a “scuffle” compared to what’s coming!

Right this one down. It’s going to be ugly!

Several hours later, lying in a Duluth hospital bed, he came to and there was his doctor, Sven. “Vell Ole, I got some good news and some bad news. Da good news is dat you are going to be OK. Da damage vas local to your groin, dere was very little internal damage, and I vas able to remove all of da buckshot.”

“What’s the bad news?”, asks Ole.

“The bad news is dat dere vas some pretty extensive buckshot damage done to your pecker. I’m going to have to refer you to my sister, Lena.”

“Well, I guess that isn’t too bad,” says Ole. “Is your sister a

I would say Sharpton is dumber than a box of rocks, but that would be an insult to the box and the rocks.

It wouldn’t matter what umbrella the cops wete under. Regardless of trianing or brainwashing regimen, the troops on the street would quickly figure out the truth that approximtely 14% of the population in a readily identifiable demographic was causing about 75% of the problems. This would be more of a problem where this demographic was more dense in population. In those areas, some members of that demographic would stand out from their own kind as super problems and they would have to be dealt with forcefully to get them under control. Until Sharpton’s demographic can constrain itself from engaging in wholesale acts of stupid TNB, especially in dealing with authority figures, this problem will continue to recur.

Right. Then we would have all the honor and integrity Bill Nettles has brought to the U.S. Attorney’s Office as he permits Jean Toal to tell him what to do and when.

F(*kin Al Sharpton. Has he ever apologized for the Tawana Brawley hoax? Has he paid his thousands of back taxes yet? He’s a lying, shameless, race-baiting, mayhem starting worthless piece of excrement who has as much credibility as Bernie Madoff. Yeah, great idea Al…federalizing police under the DOJ. That would be like asking Mr Fox to investigate what happened to the hens in the hen house. Any dumb asses who pay attention to Sharpton deserve all of their brain cells to die listening to his dumb assery.

WILL THEY GO AFTER TAX CHEATS?

Tax cheats – hell, we had an extension to file taxes, I finally wrapped up today, so I am feeling great. However, an interesting question: Have you contributed to state or local political campaigns?

Not sure how that affects taxes, but found it very interesting consider I don’t recall a question about PACs? Or Political Parties? Not sure what the purpose is, unless they are trying to make sure everyone lists political contributions in that case – no issue.

You cyberbullies ought to read this new book. It applies to all subjects, not hust this Nikki thing.

So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed is Ronson’s tour through a not-necessarily-brave new world where faceless commenters wield the power to destroy lives and careers, where the punishments often outweigh the crimes, and where there is no self-control and (ironically) no consequences. On one hand, part of what makes this book (again, ironically) so fun to read is a certain schadenfreude; it’s fun to read about others’ misfortunes, especially if we think they “had it coming.” Jonah Lehrer, whose admitted plagiarism and falsifications probably earned him his fall, stalks these pages. But so does Justine Sacco, whose ill-conceived tweet probably didn’t merit hers; as it turns out, the internet doesn’t always differentiate the misdemeanors from the felonies. But the best reason to read this is Ronson’s style, which is funny and brisk, yet informative and never condescending. So You’ve Been Publicly Shamedis not a scholarly book, nor is it a workbook about navigating ignominy. It’s an entertaining investigation into a growing–and often disturbing–demimonde of uncharitable impulses run amok.

(I liked the words of another review who said “there was a time when you actually had to show up and be know to have be a bully.”)
