It is the same story over and over. The general assembly produces lax laws, then gives tax dollars to its friends. Nothing is ever illegal because of the lax laws.

I have long contended that these environmental wacko groups are bought and paid for by “donations” to their front groups by our enemies. There is no way to prove it but it seems questionable that every time someone tries to build a road, start a business, build a power plant, or almost any other improvement there is always a gaggle of “environmental concerns” that make the cost go out of sight in an effort to stop any form of progress. Is it just me or dose anyone else notice this ? Think about building the interstate highway system today with all the BS that it would take. It would never get done. Which is their goal any way.

No! That’s not their goal. It’s to extract as much mitigation costs and legal fees as they can when it is built. The EPA has been found to be cooperating and encouraging groups to sue the government and developers.
You definitely have a point there. They want to ride on the good road as much as everyone else., They, the lawyers and politicians, want to be well greased then ride on the good roads.
Several of the “wetlands” in that area were “created” in the 19th century by abandoned open pit phosphate mines. In the minds of “conservationists” any mud puddle is a “wetland”.
This is happening still, today.
Low country “conservation groups” are doing the same thing with respect to property being mitigated for the latest Boeing transaction, this time the cost was even more, and will produce income for the non profits…in the milions of dollars every year!
