BUT DID SHE TAKE IT?
|| By FITSNEWS || Former S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) director Catherine Templeton has reportedly been offered a “Republican” appointment to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Sources tell FITS the former labor lawyer was in Washington, D.C. earlier this month discussing the post with Senate “majority” leader Mitch McConnell – although it’s not immediately clear whether she took the job. In fact one Templeton confidant – who spoke with FITS on condition of anonymity – said the purpose of her meeting with McConnell was to take her name out of the running for the position.
Wow. We find that difficult to believe. For a labor lawyer, the NLRB is the pinnacle of the profession. Not only that, such a lofty perch would provide Templeton – a protege of former U.S. Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O’Connor – with a national stage to drive the right-to-work issues she’s been fighting for her whole career.
Assuming our source is correct (and Templeton indeed turned down the job), it’s yet another indication of just how seriously she’s eyeing a challenge to embattled U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford – who has veered wildly to the left since first district voters returned him to the U.S. Congress two years ago.
Or it could be indicative of Templeton’s intention to run for governor in 2018, a post many believe she is more inclined to pursue …
An adept manager and political messenger, Templeton received rave reviews during her tenure at SCDHEC. In addition to saving tens of millions of tax dollars, she scored high marks for her handling of the Ebola threat – including showing up personally at one Charleston-area hospital pretending to be a patient with symptoms of the disease in an effort to gauge its response capability.
Sadly, SCDHEC has descended into chaos since Templeton left … all while S.C. governor Nikki Haley‘s first choice to replace her was getting grilled (and ultimately withdrawing her name from consideration).
Anyway … we’ll continue to keep our eye on Templeton, whose political star continues to ascend much to the consternation of Sanford and her would-be 2018 gubernatorial rivals.

Sanford is one of my better pupils, he is very good at pretending he is conservative. All he asks for in return are plane tickets to “where the hot babes are” and he is a good little comrade.

Except that He is only 1 of 2 members of the SC delegation who voted NAY on the PCNA which allows the government to bypass the 4th ammendment by paying coorperations to spy on citizens for them
Folks is out to lunch again. The only reason she would turn down the NLRB job is that they refused to move their headquarters to Charleston County and then refused her counter offer of daily private jet service to DC and back.
So let’s get this straight: Templeton, who has never served in an elected position, much less run for public office, turns down a 5-yr appointment because she wants to try to either unseat an incumbent Congressman (who had a 95% reelection rate in 2014, by the way) or run for governor? If that’s the case, and this isn’t simply Will spreading a rumor in an attempt to raise CT’s profile/resume without her actually doing anything, she’s not nearly as smart as she’s appeared.
Handling the Ebola threat…ha! That’s gold Jerry, gold!

In FITSNEWS, Templeton can go from being attacked as drunken slut lounging at the pool and accosting pool boys while commuting from Charleston to Cola when she feels like going to work in a taxpayer funded car with taxpayer funded gas through two Haley agency appointments to being…a political goddess?

Many of us who had the pleasure of getting to know her and to work along side her at DHEC were extremely impressed at the depth and breadth of her knowlege and how adept she was in making sound decisions in complex matters. The lady has guts, brains, and oozes charm. The sky is the limit for her. We hated to see her go.
Well, I guess it beats giving HR based “what you can and can’t say in the workplace” presentations to local businesses.
Isn’t she the one who never showed up to work in Columbia.
I guess it was too much to ask of her to get off her rear end on Sullivans Island, and go to work in Columbia for an outrageously unjustified amount of money.
Templeton was just another Haley appointee failure!
