“That support will only contribute to greater violence in that country.”

“So we’ve sent a carrier to visit even greater violence upon the situation to calm things down.”

Hey, we got all of these thirty year old aircraft carriers full of obsolete jets and, by golly, we’re gonna use ’em.

‘Sides, didn’t we just agree to agree to put something in writing maybe, for them Iranians that we are unshackling them to do as they please ?

“obsolete jets”… compared to what? 60 year old B-52’s and 40 year old A-10’s can do more damage than just off the line F-35’s and F-22’s. Throw in some 30 year old F/A-18’s, F-15’s for cover and not much is getting through.

Yes. But the job at hand may require differentiation between The Ferrari (F18) and The Pickup Truck (A10) … or The Eighteen Wheeler (B52). … And don’t get me started on that useless F35.

Let’s face it – the US and its Proxy Israel have been at war with various Arab states and movements in the Middle East pretty much continuously since WW-2 ended, if not well before then. The “New” Hundred Years War.

Mmmmmm … that ol’ “Wag The Dog” scenario used to work. Will it again? Oh Bummer?

Or is this yet another payback for Hillary’s end run around the IRS? … Keep the Saudi Bagmen happy with an old fashioned Teddy R. type showing of big sticks.

U.S. Warship Heading To Yemeni Waters To Intercept Iranian Weapons Shipments, Navy Officials Say. ……… WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. Navy officials say the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is steaming toward the waters off Yemen and will join other American ships prepared to intercept any Iranian vessels carrying weapons to the Houthi (HOO’-thee) rebels fighting in Yemen

Hey – Real News. Do you even know what the USS Theodore Roosevelt is besides big effing ship?

This is the second similar response by you. You come across as telling people they don’t know what they’re talking about, yet say nothing to support your comment. Are you one of those people who just likes to hear themselves talk?

And when the Navy gets done, they’ll have turned swords into anchors.

I see conspiracy, or crazy, all over this page. No one even knows what USS Roosevelt is or the capabilities. If so, someone would have responded by now.

People have views of the world based off personal experience – we all do. That is expected. What is unexpected and the reason we end up with all the conspiracy – lack of knowledge, reader’s deficit.

Why do you think that ship is there? What purpose does it serve? How can we reach people, as most say, thousands of mile away?

Look up the ship’s purpose, capabilities, and then talk about swords, anchors or plowshares. Otherwise it is babble.

Dang if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black. I’ve never known you to be lacking in opinions or expression therein.

I look at the picture and think, hmmm…that looks like an aircraft carrier, wonder how many sorties they can fly from there? Then comes to mind FDR and Desert Storm. So I actually go look it up. It makes conversation more intellectually stimulating when we do our own research. Here are two articles that might help:
—————————————————————————-

Persian Gulf War

On 28 December 1990, Theodore Roosevelt and CVW-8 deployed for Operation Desert Shield, arriving in the Persian Gulf on 16 January 1991. With the commencement of Operation Desert Storm on 15 January 1991, Theodore Roosevelt began combat operations; eventually flying over 4,200 sorties (more than any other carrier) and dropping more than 4,800,000 pounds (2,177,243.4 kg) of ordnance before the cease-fire on 28 February.”

———————————————————————————

“The Roosevelt began steaming toward Yemen Sunday, said a Navy official who was not authorized to speak about the issue publicly. With the Roosevelt, the Navy now has nine warships off Yemen, the Navy official said. The Navy usually has amphibious ships for landing troops and gear in the region. The Roosevelt “significantly” adds to the Navy’s firepower there.”

So you can cut and paste… you still never explained why you’re upset that we don’t know the purpose of the ship. The fighter aircraft are for air defense for the carrier group, the attack aircraft are for blowing shit up. The ship is the platform for executing these missions.
