POLICE SEEKING LEADS IN WILLFUL ABANDONMENT CASE …
|| By FITSNEWS || Horry County (S.C.) police are searching for a woman (above) who dumped a newborn baby into a garbage bin in Socastee, S.C.
The eight pound, six ounce newborn girl was discovered by a pair of teenage boys who were taking out the trash, according to reporter Alexandra Heaton of WPDE TV 15 (ABC – Florence/ Myrtle Beach, S.C.) – who broke the story.
The boys heard crying from within the dumpster shortly before 2:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday and called for their mother, Jessica Price – who called 911.
According to Price, the baby was found “inside a bag with other trash and had its umbilical cord wrapped around its neck.”
Unbelievable …
Price unwrapped the cord from the baby’s neck and cleaned the child off prior to police arriving.
According to Heaton, the baby girl is “alive and well” at Waccamaw Hospital. In fact she says the family which found the child is expected to pay her a visit in the hospital sometime this week.
In the meantime, police are seeking assistance in identifying the woman who left the child in the dumpster – circulating pictures of her to local media in the hopes someone will step froward. If anyone recognizes the woman – or has any additional information about the crime – they are encouraged to contact the Horry County police department at 843-915-8477.
Willful abandonment is a felony in South Carolina punishable by fines and up to ten years of prison time – or both. Of course the Palmetto State has a “safe haven” law which permits mothers to anonymously surrender infants who are less than a month old to churches, hospitals, police or fire stations.
Children anonymously surrendered under the safe haven law are examined and then offered up for adoption …

How is Will hiding either story? Here you are, all over a thread on a FITS post about this, one saying he’s it. I think he’s done three so far about the man killed by police in Charleston. See why you’re the butt of so many jokes on this site?

A horrifying and repulsive story. I found out about it in an odd way. I took a cab right after it had happened, and the cab driver got a call from his wife, who said that a newborn baby had just been found alive in the dumpster at their apartment complex. Said she (the wife) had just emptied their trash in that same dumpster, apparently shortly before the baby was abandoned. Within an hour, it was on local news, by evening it was starting to get picked up nationally. Weird how instantaneously these things are transmitted these days. But the good news is, that increases the likelihood of a perp like this getting caught fairly soon.
A cab rider in Columbia? I thought those were just for those who live in the projects.

I honestly don’t get why so many people respond to such a troll.

I honestly don’t get why you don’t get why so many people respond to such a troll. It’s also like games. Why the hell would anyone play a role playing game like D&D? Or Fantasy Baseball, for God’s sake? What’s the point? Also,why would anyone take the time to count all the posts by someone they don’t believe to be worth responding to? Just as another way to say “I’m better than the rest of you?” Foreign to me, all of that.
After years of being forced to scroll past his/her/its #$!^*%*)(&*^#^ to get to comments that might be interesting, I decided to get a rough idea of just how much of my time he/she/it was wasting.
In this post, he/she/it has sucked up 30% of the space…when I counted – (oh, my research took less than a minute, Buz. If I had known I could do it so fast, I would have done it a long time ago.) – but, now there are 10 more comments and I bet most of them are he/she/its.
I’m not ‘better’, Buz, Just don’t like to waste my time and scrolling wastes my time.
I wish he/she/it had an avatar that easily identified his/her/its posts, not a tiny little picture, that could be more easily avoided and my scrolling could speed up.
Clearly a First World problem. Um. Unless you’re in the Third World accessing FITSNews comment threads on a flip-phone.
Everyone on here including me who just wasted time reading this crap. You have something more important to spend your time with other than this argument or getting involved in any other thread tomorrow. It’s called family and friends. Ask yourself tomorrow what difference you made by getting pissed off about what somebody else posted. Who cares!!!! You did not make a difference With your post and you did nothing but raise your own blood pressure and stress level over an event that will sure repeat itself again in the next few weeks. The contrarian opinion. It is uncommon, but someone women (don’t ask me how) don’t even know they are pregnant and give birth. The fact it still had an umbilical cord wrapped around its neck, indicates to me she might not have known? Who in their right mind would give birth at home or somewhere besides a hospital these days, only to dump the baby in a dumpster?
Having said that, I wish she would have just brought it to my doorstep. Does not pardon the fact she could have taken it to a hospital, maybe she just panicked?
Has Obama come out and said if he forced his daughter to ABORT her MISTAKE (as he indicated he would)…that this baby would look like his grandchild?….or is the media ignoring his comments and your handiwork???
