BOEING BATTLE LOOMS IN BACKGROUND …

|| By FITSNEWS || South Carolina remains one of the least unionized states in America … for the time being.

Only 2.2 percent of South Carolina’s workforce was unionized in 2014, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).  That’s the lowest percentage of any state save for North Carolina (1.9 percent).  In 2013 South Carolina’s unionization rate was 3.7 percent.

All told the number of unionized employees in the state fell from 69,000 to 41,000 … although that figure obviously doesn’t include a flood of government workers who might as well be unionized.

More than 350,000 South Carolina workers are employed by government – roughly 20 percent of the state’s total workforce.

It also doesn’t include as many as 3,000 workers who could be unionized later this month depending on the outcome of an election at aircraft manufacturer Boeing’s North Charleston, S.C. facility.  The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) filed its petition to hold an election at the crony capitalist company’s heavily government subsidized facility last month – the first stage in what sources tell FITS is a “siege” of the facility.

FITS first alerted our readers to the IAM unionization push last August (and updated its building momentum in January and February).

The election is currently scheduled for April 22 – although company officials could seek to delay it via procedural complaints against the IAM.

Nationally, the total number of unionized workers in America stood at 14.6 million in 2014 – up modestly from 14.5 million a year ago.  Of course the percentage of salaried workers belonging to a union declined from 11.3 to 11.1 percent.  Meanwhile the percentage of public sector workers belonging to a union stood at a whopping 35.7 percent – up from 35.3 percent a year ago.

Translation?  Whereas the private sector has gradually rooted out these cancerous organizations, the public sector (especially U.S. president Barack Obama) is trying to keep them alive.

FITS is PRAYING for a Union comeback…

Unions will win at Boeing. Your Chicago meat packing district politics from the 1920ies will be defeated. The working class has nothing to loose but its mortgage, car payment and yearly cruise.

You must be one hateful some beech to be pro-union…or just a garden variety liberal idiot…

Regardless, our people know who you are…and they cannot stand you…for good reasons…

FITS HATES Boeing because it’s a GIGANTIC economic success for SC… He sees it as a part of his delusional and irrational war against Haley. Anything good for SC under her reign, he must attack.

If he thinks a union will hurt her, or make her or the GOP look bad, he’s all for it.

One of the things you fence-riders do to yourself, by trying to play nicey–and allegedly considerate of all points…is you present yourself as ignorant.

To be oblivious to dangerous people, is a liability you cannot afford. It also discredits you, because it makes you look stupid and unaware of reality….

Ok – stop being an ass. Remember I did post numerous articles on the unions (which I oppose) and why WA wants Boeing back (the jobs).

Why don’t you get your ass off the fence. I took up for you earlier. I heard you were giving BJ’s. Maybe I should get on that ugly bandwagon too? As absurd as it is.

I am a Centrist, a red shade of gray, so save your dangerous speech for someone who is really afraid. I don’t fit the cubby you have designated for me.

I will try to refrain from talking about who really looks stupid and lacking awareness – for now.

You spend way too much time trying to defend your mistakes. Just listen and heed what I impart.

Pineapple Twist April 6, 2015 at 9:38 pm

Oh, I get it – the shut up and listen woman, know thou place? REALLY? Do you think that is in my nature. Call me what you want, but I’ll tell you who I am. You don’t get to define me.

Have a great night GT. I almost typed FT (could that be a freudian slip?)

GrandTango April 6, 2015 at 11:36 pm

GT admit it, you would like nothing more than a female dominatrix to piss all over you – the golden shower that you would drink with joy and yet hide behind the cloak of Jesus.

Filthy anti-Christian Bigot much?

Tazmaniac April 6, 2015 at 5:06 pm

I wonder how long it is going to be before private sector unions discover that only the thing that interested the Big O in their regard was their votes? They are already about 4-5 years late.

Least unionized, poorest, dumbest, least healthy, least job security, least mobility. Yes, SC does sit at the top of a lot of lists.

Right to Work was create by ole redneck Vance Muse. He said good white folk should be in unions, because blacks were allowed to join.

South Carolina has a lot of good things, low cost of living, right to work, GREAT weather most of the year – but we have the downside we need to work on: Education, pay, unemployment, rehabilitation v. incarceration to name a few. SC has a ton of history and potential.

Gee. We as a state also have some of the lowest pay in the nation, as well as one of the smallest middle classes…. as South Carolinians wonder why…..

Maybe the editor can research the amount of discretionary income the South Carolina worker has versus the other states.
