WHAT THE WHAT?
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. Senator Ted Cruz signed up for health insurance through president Barack Obama‘s socialized medicine monstrosity this week. In fact the first announced 2016 presidential candidate – who made his biggest splash on the national stage filibustering the law – was welcomed to the program by none other than the Obama administration itself.
“What (Cruz) will find is the same thing that millions of Americans across the country have found, which is that there are good, quality, affordable health care plans that are available because of the Affordable Care Act,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) also pounced, encouraging “others to follow presidential candidate Ted Cruz to www.healthcare.gov and get covered.”
So … is Cruz being a hypocrite? That’s certainly up for debate …
Or at least it should be …
It wasn’t, though, if you picked up a copy of this afternoon’s editions of The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier – which featured a “news report” from political scribe Schuyler Kropf that might as well have been written by Cruz’s campaign.
“S.C. Tea Partiers don’t have a problem with Cruz on Obamacare,” Kropf’s headline blared, before launching into a nauseatingly one-sided take on Cruz’s decision.
Liberal bias?
Not in this MSM story …
Kropf quoted Tea Partiers and political scientists who offered all sorts of reasons why Cruz’s move was “admirable,” “helpful,” and “smart.”
Say huh?
Jeez …
Look, we like Cruz. He’s one of the only candidates running as a “Republican” this cycle who’s actually worth a damn. Not only that, we’ve written extensively in support of his anti-Obamacare efforts. We’ve also touted his viability as a legitimate “First in the South” contender.
But this story in the Post and Courier? It’s a joke …
Cruz’s decision – whatever its motivation – will hurt him. And if you don’t believe us, wait for one of his rival campaigns (or more likely one of the million-and-one political action committees popping up all over the country) to cut a thirty-second advertisement showing you why.

Man am I angry..
I PERSONALLY know people WITHOUT health insurance (when it would be virtually free for them and their family) because of Mr Sam I Am’s self serving nonsense..
He has PLENTY of ‘other’LEGAL options including…
A.-;. pay the 95 dollars fee next year at tax time, like he insinuated ‘other’ PATRIOTS should do .. or
B-;. He can go outside the Federal Health Exchange, as long as it is a comprehensive plan, there is no law that says you need be part of the Federal Exchange.
In FACT he could of payed BIG BUCKS and stayed on the Goldman Sachs plan his family was on from his wife’s job, all he had to do was ‘put up the cash’ (kind of surprised he didn’t at this point)…. BUT NOOOooooo. .
He said in the interview, he WANTS the Federal Subsidy (YOU pay for it) because it will be LESS EXPENSIVE for he and his family.. What the frik ‘patriots’?.. ha.He sure made you all look like total complete boobs.. That many of you HAVE been.. At YOUR expense.. Mr Cruz is GETTING his.. ha.. wow.. get it? Na.. didn’t think so in some cases..
You have all been duped.. In the MEANTIME.. He SWEARS he is still going to repeal this ‘turkey’, even though he himself and his family plan on taking full advantage of the ACA..
Health care is IMPORTANT.
NOT for ME.. NOT for YOU.. Not for your Family.. Not for anyone you give a dang about.. But for EVERYONE…. EVERYONE.. this is IMPORTANT STUFF..
Mr Cruz is a self serving, self adulating dangerous nut job. Anyone with God given eyes that is willing to use them, can see.. And if they DON’T, well.. Goodness help them.
At the end of Green Eggs and Ham, the guy ends up liking it after all after he actually tries it. I know Cruz is reading beyond his grade level but even he should have noticed that. Maybe he should thank Uncle Sam-I-Am instead of trying to club his kneecaps?
Bet he finds out his wife doesn’t have to change her OGBYN either.
Bet you are wrong, unless they pay out of pocket.
Except that those gold collar plans have huge tax penalties besides bein over priced. Something like a 40% fine/tax for getting them.
No, you can still get private insurance, you just MUST have insurance. I know this to be true.
I get that, and I do have health care insurance.
But there are ways I could save a whole lot of money (as many much richer folks do) by just setting up a catastrophic medical fund/savings account.
I think you are referring to a HSA (Health Savings Account)? The advantages aren’t worth the record keeping. Sure you can deduct some of that, and years ago I had one through a company I worked for, but it wasn’t worth to me. I dumped it after the first year.
Example: http://www.uhc.com/individual-and-family/health-insurance-plans
However, ObamaCare as he affectionately coins it, does drive up costs in some cases and the coverage – not so good.
I would suggest that Cruz use his new, health insurance — for a thorough colonoscopy.
Perhaps a bondage, hot wax enema instead?
I think Theodore did the right thing, to make sure that his lovely wife and daughters have access to affordable health insurance in case they get sick. After all, that’s why many of us get insurance for our families, not for us, but for the ones we love. And maybe, just maybe, Theo Poppy Rafeal can explain to those in SC who can’t get insurance because Haley refused to expand Medicaid how he really feels – “I got mine, Baby! Screw you!!”
Why didn’t Ted’s wife elect to take COBRA and keep their plan? The only option before ACA offered to us regular folks with pre-existing conditions who needed complete health insurance coverage. Too expensive for Goldman Sachs employee Heidi and Senator Cruz, but OK for the rest of us to pay out the nose for it. I can’t stand him.
Yeah, the COBRA expense was my bet.
It is the best coverage for the money. I once worked for a company that offered to add medical insurance of appx 11k to my pay if I opted out of healthcare – it was choice. Big companies are able to barter for better healthcare. In my case, it was a premium healthcare plan and yes, I paid COBRA as long as I could.
Edward, not Theodore. Same Edward nickname as Ted Kennedy…
Thank you. As you can tell – he’s not at the top of my mind to know his real name. Kanuk-bano is good enough for me.
Republicans want to take away Ted Cruz’s health insurance, as well as coverage for millions more! Don’t let them succeed!
Now that is some funny stuff.
Why does Obama have to keep giving so many exemptions to campaign contributors…???
Also of the 18 million signed up, most them were already on Medicaid…and 6 million have LOST their insurance…
Not to mention how many FT jobs were cut into PT because the employer had to AVOID government penalties to keep from going out of business…
Can you say OBAMA-DISASTER…Repealing this nightmare is not a good idea…it’s IMPERATIVE….
If 6 million people lost their health insurance, the insured rate across the nation would have gone drastically down. Why didn’t it? Do you know? Or are you just giving us the…

Well the real story is he gets his facts from Breitfart and Drudge. So—- you take into consideration that. It’s like his brain is the machine. Crap in, crap out.
You know what they say about a room full of monkeys with typewriters and Shakespeare, I would think after all this time this monkey would come up with something, crap in or not.
Easy on Shakespeare.
Drudge is nothing more than links to many sources, not all of them conservative. Conservatives will argue the opposite. Some think Drudge is too liberal.
Nicely said Mary, and welcome, however, the point I was making is GT doesn’t get too much data from many various places. He’s sort of a one-source sort of guy.
I just love packing crap in.
You have LIED from Day 1…WTF would believe anything you say about it?
Says the man on Medicaid…
Is anyone really surprised that our half black President nigger rigged healthcare?
More surprised you have a computer and can type.
Anyone who uses the N word, has lost all self respect. I too am surprised they redneck can use a computer. I thought they just killed shit?
Anyone who uses it is likely just doing it to rile you up. Unfortunately, it sounds like it worked in this case. Don’t fall for the racially charged hoaxes.
“Unfortunately, it sounds like it worked in this case. ”
Bingo!
As another poster once wrote here, “You can chum the waters here with sawdust.”
It’s comical.
I am not riled up about it, I am just stating my opinion.
(screeches, “I am not riled up”)
ha ha, nice try.

That is absolutely hilarious! I listened to that last night believe it or not.
“Mary, Mary, quite contrary.
We’re so bored until we’re buried.
Just like dust, we settle in this town.
On this broken merry go ’round.
Merry go ’round.
Jack and Jill went up the hill.
Jack burned out on booze and pills.
And Mary had a little lamb.
Mary just don’t give a damn no more.”

sounds like Grand asshat without his filters..
Nice try there, buddy. I know a liberal plant when I read one and hear one.
Told you before this jackass went to Liberty it was a bad idea. Another pandering joke of a candidate. Slapped the P$SS out of you again. As for this Obamacare story…HAHAHAHAHAHA!
If Cruz Is ‘On Obamacare,’ So Are His 2016 Rivals

What Are Ted Cruz’s Health Insurance Options — And What Motivations Are You Projecting on Him?
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/03/25/what_are_ted_cruz_s_health_insurance_options_and_what_motivations_are_you_projecting_on_him
He can buy his own policy, IF he is as principled as he says he is. I agree with the group in the article “Others say he looks like a hypocrite because he’s well known to hate Obamacare. “
I used to love Cruz, but… the more I followed him, the more I listened, not only to what he was saying but he wasn’t, his actions, I began to realize… he is just another politician. He plays every card available for political gain.
Stating simple facts of g’ment life, He leaves His pants down while He takes care of the paperwork.
Yes, and we both know what happens when you do that in a predominantly male environment.
Who gives a shit? I wanna see a birth certificate for his eligibility to run for President.
Where are all the “birthers” this time around?
Everything you need to know about the asshat that is Ted Cruz, you can learn from researching his daddy..Rafael. Ted is an extremely smart total fucking lunatic who believe the bible is literal..every single word is the literal word of God. Every single word. That should scare the shit out Repubs and Dems alike.
Well, I’ve just made myself an enemy to GT whom I share “some” common ground with. But….
Yes, it should scare the hell out of both parties. I think he is a self serving politician. Would love to believe otherwise, but the writing has been on the wall for some time now – religion IS his political perch. I thought he was an “extremely smart total fucking lunatic who believe the bible is literal” when he fell on the white house lawn. I also, for the first time, found him hypocritical. It was disappointing, still is, but I am looking elsewhere.
Your comment may be phrased very sarcastic, satire, or even hyperbole, but it is true. I don’t think the Bible was meant to be taken literally. It is lesson, parables, a good way to live your life.
Anyone who thinks it is literal, please read Revelations and explain that to me.
Ohmigosh. This has got to be a joke? Did I fall asleep and have a lucid bad dream? One of the few Tea Party Members I still hold respect for says this:
““I think what he’s doing is pretty admirable,” said Laurens County tea party president Dianne Belsom. “It sounds to me like he’s saying ‘I’m trying to be like everybody else.’ ”
Really Diane? I thought you stood for something more than just pandering. I respected you. I do think you are a good person, but before you open your mouth and speak to the media, please think about what you are saying. Ted isn’t the Tea Party. You were a TP voice for SC – few will view you that way now.
I know you are a good person – better than this. You know it’s a lie (it is not admirable). Think, before you go public. We always had a saying in sales, “Don’t start believing your own BS.”
Diane – this is NOT you. Not the person I have known.
I am going to say this, and then I REALLY am going to bed. Thanks you FITS for sticking with what you believe against all odds. I don’t even need to list them, everyone knows, whether they admit it or not, they know.
I find Diane’s comment, along with many other TPers that I have respected (though I will say she was one, if not, my favorite), nothing more than pandering. “I think what he’s doing is pretty admirable,” said Laurens County tea party president Dianne Belsom. “It sounds to me like he’s saying ‘I’m trying to be like everybody else.’ ”
I am SO disappointed in most of the grassroot leaders. I don’t even know why I call them leaders, they are in fact, followers. FITS you are a leader, in every sense of the word.
I am glad we have a “few” voices in SC that still stand true to their beliefs, even when I don’t always agree. Yes, we all ramble, try to figure it out, but the Tea Party is losing it’s voice – throw all the tea you want into whatever harbor you choose, but I won’t join you. Not now. You stand for nothing but wasted TEA.
For all you insider folks out there, just remember the invisible are listening and watching you. Word of mouth spreads fast and thanks to FITS, even faster.
I didn’t think Cruz was smart enough to do this for his family. Not that I’d vote for him to hold an elected office…
Some context might help.
http://www.politico.com/story/2015/03/ted-cruz-obamacare-116408.html
Yes, and notice the updates to this article. Maybe Cruz realizes it isn’t a popular move and backing away?
Right, not a”popular” media move because he realizes how ridiculous and distracting it will be to constantly have to answer the same question. Doesn’t mean he’s wrong. Just savvy about how to get the media to ask him the right questions.
I don’t fault anyone for getting ObamaCare, esp. those who can’t afford alternatives and it is available. Having said that, I think Cruz is speaking out both sides of his mouth and is hypocritical. Agree, savvvy about how to get the media to ask him the right questions.
Folks, Its all about that tax funded 75 percent employer contribution Cruz gets as a member of Congress. Not the People, not the law or brilliant campaign strategy. Just plain ole self interest and self benefit.
Do you feel punked yet?
3,412,000 federal workers and counting.
