|| By FITSNEWS || S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson will participate in a town hall forum on the issue of criminal domestic violence (CDV) in Sumter, S.C. this week.
According to a news release from his office, Wilson will join S.C. Senator Thomas McElveen, S.C. Rep. David Weeks, and domestic violence survivor Shakia Spears at the event. Weeks, incidentally, is a member of the House judiciary committee which is currently debating a CDV bill which passed the State Senate last month.
Wilson “has made the passage of domestic violence reform his top priority for the current legislative session,” the release stated.
How’s that effort going? Eh …
Wilson’s CDV town hall will be held at the gymnasium at Thomas Sumter Academy (5265 Camden Highway) in Rembert, S.C. on Thursday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. EDT.
As we’ve said from the beginning of this process, we haven’t been particularly impressed with any of this year’s proposed CDV reforms. Frankly, if lawmakers were serious about cracking down on violence against women, they might consider better addressing cases like THIS … or THIS.
Anyway, the issue has become a point of contention among lawmakers … as FITS exclusively reported over the weekend.

Well if anyone would know about dangerous spouses, it’s Alan Wilson! What can I say, he married his mother.
Sam Griswold could come and give his long and sorted past. He could talk about the help given to him by professionals. He could talk about his brushes with the law. Perhaps even he could bring his wife. It would be a teachable moment

Yeah Alan, get those political points with the culture of victimhood, hand-wringer crowd, early on. Screw due process and the men (and women) whose lives will be turned on end by false accusations made by pissed off lovers and spouses.
It will never happen to you because you and your family have clout, so you can always get out of it if such happens to you.
