Brownback in KS thought the state budget could get by via finding the unnecessary projects, waste, fraud, and abuse and eliminating it. Sent some smart guys on a special mission to find it in the budget. Guess what? A drop in credit rating for the state later, teetering on bankruptcy. So, if you’re gonna talk about financing state govt, you’re going to have to have a pen with a lot sharper tip than the “we’ll pay for that by eliminating projects/programs” That is is no better than paying with fairy dust

I heard through the grape vine Nikki was very upset about this Monday. She was overheard saying something to the effect she had “taken one for the team” last Friday afternoon, meeting privately with Obama, to sure up a commitment to some infrastructure money, and if the state borrowered it – she’d have given that for nothing.
That grapevine was flawed.
Have to go along with Nikki on this. Veto pen in hand, go for it.
Gov Haley is right on target with this. The people are with her. Stop this crazy, wasteful spending.
