|| By FITSNEWS || A pair of prospective 2018 South Carolina gubernatorial candidates will be participating in non-campaign related events over the next few days …

S.C. Rep. Kirkman Finlay – who is being eyed by a group of influential business leaders for the post – will host his annual “Finlay Scholars Oyster Roast” event on Saturday March 7, 2015 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. EST.  The event – which you can read more about HERE – is held annually in honor of Finlay’s father, former Columbia, S.C. mayor Kirkman Finlay, Jr.

Each year, the event helps endow several low-income recipients with college scholarships.

The following week, former S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) director Catherine Templeton will be the featured speaker at an event sponsored by the Maverick PAC (an organization affiliated with George P. Bush, son of former Florida governor Jeb Bush).  That event – which you can read more about HERE – will be held in the Vista district of downtown Columbia, S.C. on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. EDT.

Templeton’s political future is up in the air at the moment – with some predicting she will run against former S.C. governor Mark Sanford next spring for South Carolina’s first congressional district seat.

Others predict the Templeton-Sanford showdown will be in the spring of 2018 … for the GOP gubernatorial nomination.

Whatever Templeton runs for, she’s going to be formidable …
