… AND “REPUBLICANS” EYE ANOTHER SURRENDER
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. president Barack Obama – eager to press his advantage following the latest “Republican” capitulation to his radical agenda – now says he is exploring executive action on tax increases.
You read that right … tax hikes implemented without the consent of Congress.
Specifically, Obama’s spokesman said this week that the White House was seriously considering a suggestion by uber-liberal U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders to raise $100 billion through “Internal Revenue Service executive action.”
“The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle class Americans,” his spokesman said. “The president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally.”
Wait … what? That’s unmitigated B.S. And not just the part about raising taxes without congressional approval … but the ongoing lip service to the middle class, which continues to get completely shafted by Obama.
Don’t expect anything to change anytime soon though … as the “Republican” Congress has turned out to be exactly what we predicted it would be: Completely spineless.
We’re not the only ones who think that way, either.
“Congress’ retreat into obscurity under Republican leadership has been rapid and pronounced, and the cave in on executive amnesty was inevitable the moment Republican leaders declared that any kind of government shutdown was unacceptable,” Rick Manning of Americans for Limited Government wrote this week for Fox News. “Everything since then has been merely delaying the inevitable.”
Manning is absolutely correct …
Which is why John Boehner – no stranger to such foolish, self-limiting declarations – should have never been reelected Speaker of the House.
But he was … thanks in no small part to the “conservative” South Carolina congressional delegation (minus Jeff Duncan, anyway).
How’s that vote looking now?
Yeah … not good.

Yeah. Congress in the house, fur sure, has not been vocal, has not issued any lines in the sand, has not done anything really so far except put on the knee pads.
Even though the snows in DC have come to stay and DC Gruberment is effectively shut down and has been for a couple of weeks … no joy for the taxpayers, period.
The reason the Republican party is ‘spineless’ is that they have to cater to the Tea Party, which is funny, since they should be happy that they actually found a group more annoying and backwards than they are.
As for raising taxes on the rich, good for Obama. Reagan’s tax cuts are a major contributor to the decline of the middle class. To see what successful taxing looks like, see Minnesota.
“Reagan’s tax cuts are a major contributor to the decline of the middle class.”
Pure stupidity on display. “Logic”? lol
No, actually the denial that Reagan was a complete failure is beyond stupid. His voodoo economic strategic and trickle down ideas will be shown to be the beginning of the end of US dominance.
That’s not logic, its the truth.
The “trickle down” myth is just that, a myth. It was a label liberals tried to place on it to propagandize opposition to it. Nothing more than that. In reality, it was allowing ALL people to keep more of their own money and circulating through the economy and thus, grow the economy. What a concept! Reagan actually believed gov’t was the problem and that you could be a better manager of it than could the gov’t. Oh yeah, that was a “complete failure”. The horror!
The oligarchs want to hoard money and concentrate it at the top so they can rule us. Get rid of taxes on high income, capital gains, and estates over 5 million and they will forever hold the reins to this country until we the people take our country back violently. The history books 1000 years from now will laugh at our folly.
“The oligarchs want to hoard money and concentrate it at the top so they can rule us. Get rid of taxes on high income, capital gains, and estates over 5 million and they will forever hold the reins to this country until we the people take our country back violently.”
Who do you think runs gov’t? The “people”? lol
Wake up. Handing a corrupt gov’t money from oligarchs that control it is laughable. It’s all the same money, going round in circles.
The gov’t is no great equalizer, in fact, it’s the very opposite.
Oligarchs who run government will rule us with or without it. Those who call for shrinking government only shrink what the oligarchs will allow though so I think it is fair to say they are on the wrong side, even if they do not think so.
“Oligarchs who run government will rule us with or without it. ”
Wrong.
What they are they going to do without gov’t, force you to buy their conglomerate products? Hire the Pinkertons to make you buy a flat screen or coffee maker made over in China?
lol, get a grip.
“No, actually the denial that Reagan was a complete failure is beyond stupid. ”
Yea, see that’s the thing. I never said that.
So first, stop putting words into my mouth. You’re making a mockery of logic.
Second, let’s separate Reagan blowing out budgets and expanding governments from “tax cuts are a major contributor to the decline of the middle class”.
It’s a retarded statement, completely ignorant of the “truth” as you put it.
Lessening the tax burden on people helps them, it doesn’t hurt them.
To think otherwise under any context is monumental stupidity.
Reagan expanding gov’t & debt is a separate issue.
Actually, you’ve got it backwards. The reason this is a problem with the Republicans is that they are trying to distance themselves from the Tea Party. It’s not about having to “cater” to the Tea Party, it’s all about orienting policy and voting around the philosophy that the Tea Party is about (low taxes, freedom from government intrusion in every aspect of life, etc.). The Republicans are only ‘spineless’ when they try to show themselves above the Tea Party fray and “cater” to Democrats in so doing.
The Tea Party doesn’t care about anything except themselves and their self-importance. They are racist, anti-science, fear mongering, and manically progun. The low tax, freedom BS is just a front for legitimacy and sanity, when really the TP is just a bunch of ignorant, selfish babies.
The only part you got right was the first sentence, but caring about yourself and knowing you are important (although not what you meant) is a good thing if you are right and value truth. The rest of your accusations are worn out liberal clichés (with a complicit media) regarding the Tea Party that don’t address any points they bring up and are nothing more than a lying attempt to delegitimize them. Your whole perspective regarding the Tea Party is based on nothing more than what you have been fed by the media and liberal blogs.
Oh, my mad. I guess I should be listening to Fox News instead. Not the other 99% of media outlets. Guess I had Michelle Bachman, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, or the other idiots du jour of the Tea Party all wrong. Again, my bad.
Ahh yes, more liberal clichés on top of more liberal clichés. To top if off, you always have to make sure that you throw in a little Fox News derangement. You can’t be a liberal and not show your disdain for Fox News.
Clichés that are fact are still fact, are they not?
Except when they’re not and are used as a substitute for original thinking.
Well, when one of those situations arise, please let us know, as it does not apply here.
Barack Obama – “John, can we have this?”
Boehner – “Sure.”
Executive power increases every year anyway, might as well move towards an unabashed and open dictatorship so that everyone knows the real deal and there aren’t any misconceptions.
While this has been going on since the Whiskey Rebellion, it certainly has picked up speed during Bush the Dumber’s reign and everyone knows that Obama is a pompous ass just dying to make the “right decisions” for everyone with his superior intellect.
Republicans do not hate deficits they love them. They cut taxes and then spend like there is no tomorrow. Both actions cause deficits, so they use those deficits to cut programs they do not like. This shrinks the deficit so they cut taxes to keep the deficit there. Their goal is to cut taxes and raise spending to help the super rich while keeping the deficit alive and healthy so they can continue to cut anything else they do not care about, because those cuts allow them to cut taxes for the super rich even more.
If we cared about ending deficits and paying down the debt then at some point we have to talk taxes. Someone has to pay the credit card bill, Republicans are setting it up so that it will be the middle class that does it. This will break the back of America.
“If we cared about ending deficits and paying down the debt then at some point we have to talk taxes.”
Or, we can talk cutting gov’t, but because both Republicans & Democrats love deficits so they can fund things dear to them(war & welfare), there will be no discussion, just more of the same.
Yeah: The county’s has been in a shambles for 6-plus years…and it’s the GOP’s fault…
Great “Journalism” FITS…just Great…LMAO…
Glad you agree with their current actions. Even they recognize Obama is doing the right things for the country.
Let’s tax colleges. It’s outrageous that an business like Harvard University. ..which has an endowment of literally billions…and obtains millions in government grants, gets a free ride…tax the greedy universities!!
To bad we can’t tax stupidity. Thanks to people like you, we would be running a surplus in a month!
I always like it when Fits drops that BS about his “concern ” for small businesses ,that garbage about “crony capitalism” and various other populist type stuff and gets down to the nitty gritty.
The horror of rich people paying more taxes. It drives him and his fellow Republicans crazy.
“Executive Tax Hikes”…an extraordinarily vain move by someone that taught the Constitution.
Chill. You’re not rich, so it won’t affect you. Like everything else Obama has done for the country.
It has nothing to do with being rich or poor but with a user name like yours I wouldn’t expect you to understand.
The GOP Congress ain’t doing squat for the middle class, either, Wil.
Keeping John Boehner was the smartest thing they did. You’ll see as we get closer to Jeb Bush’s presidency.
