NO OLD TESTAMENT?

|| By FITSNEWS || A South Carolina Senator who made national news when he referred to women as “lesser cuts of meat” earlier this month (a story which broke exclusively here on FITS) is back at it …

S.C. Senator Thomas Corbin said this week he believes stopping criminal domestic violence in the Palmetto State requires divine intervention.

“We need more Jesus in the world,” Corbin said, according to television station WIS TV 10 (NBC – Columbia, S.C.).

We’re not going to argue that … there’s clearly room for a lot more “judge not lest ye be judged” and “love thy neighbor as thyself” wisdom in our world. There’s also room for the sort of righteous anger against the status quo demonstrated by Jesus when he threw the moneychangers out of the Temple (Matthew 21:12).

Here’s the thing, though … when it comes to the root issue of men killing women in South Carolina (which is what this debate is all about), there’s room for some more Old Testament wisdom too.

Unfortunately … the Palmetto State is sorely lacking in that category, as our exclusive report yesterday on the case of confessed murdered Nickolas Jermaine Miller indicated.

What have we got enough of?

Hypocrisy …

I don’t think anyone wants to hear from Corbin. At least for a while. Wisdom (even if true) from a fool is never appreciated. The man just doesn’t get it that the best thing for him is to stay out of the news.

When these lazy crooks will not put abusers behind bars then I guess Jesus is the only one that will help these poor women.

Corbin may be more willing to help those who are not lesser cuts of meat though.

He and Curtis Loftis, with their sexist ways, are two peas in a pod. Then when people catch on turn to quoting the Bible and Jesus.

I was at an all day meeting of politically active people. This critical blogging of Loftis has turned him into a folk hero. I suspect Loftis sees all this as a blessing. Especially as the gas tax poll by PPP says the gas tax is unpopular by a large number, and rising.

Which “all day meeting of politically active people” did you attend? Everyone I’ve heard from in the general assembly, staff and folks in the lobby think Curtis degrades himself by posting on here and that his comments make it look like he has lost it. His posting is the worst kept secret in politics.

This comment brought to you by a paid media company. It was paid for by special interest that wants more of your tax dollars.

No Jake/Curtis, it’s brought to you by your own words. Words evidenced online, under your name, from 2004-2010. You can’t hide from the internet Curtis.

What “the general assembly, staff and folks in the lobby think ” is irrelevant. Silly, silly ‘Two cents’.
Curtis knows all the right dog whistles to blow to make the simple minded GOP base stand up on their rear legs and ‘woof, woof, woof’ for more.
I just continue to stay worried about all the child trafficking that goes on in Haiti.

He said it as an insult…directly to a Jewish person. But that’s ok, he can “apologize” later.

What’s better is that he was making these comments to a Senator Lourie, oblivious to the fact that Lourie is Jewish.

.
Pretty clearly the SC GOP’s leadership philosophy ( Obama smearing, Gun worshiping, Bible thumping, Fed Gov hating ), and other anti-intellectual panderings to SC’s neo-confederate base, is less a philosophy, than the stuff of a well-funded PR / propaganda machine.

Packing offices with campaign donors from the insurance industry is only a symptom.

The Dems are effectively road kill in this poor state. Without real opponents the right-wingers have begun to canabalize themselves. Whoopee for the Whoopee-Cushion state!!

The best part is that the “need more Jesus” comment was an answer to a question by Joel Lourie, who Corbin apparently didn’t realize is Jewish.
