Gas prices in 2005 through 2007 averaged a little over $3.00 a gallon, spiking in 2008 to over $4.00 a gallon. In 2009, during our current popularly elected Democratic president (who was elected by an electoral landslide twice), gasoline prices averaged around $2.70 a gallon. Thereafter they averaged around $3.50 a gallon, but have recently returned to below $3.50 a gallon. To be fair, gasoline prices during Bush’s first four years averaged just under $2.00. The primary reason for the increase in prices, however, was the market building in a risk primium on the price for oil because of a raging war taking place in Iraq – which was started, as you know, by President Bush. All this means is that while you might be technically correct, the $1.75 more is a stretch, since that would say that for most of Bush’s term gas was (3.50-1.75= 1.75) $1.75 – and that was not a price anyone saw after 2002. So therefore, besides being full of crap as always, you are wrong. But keep trying.

Simple: Deficit rose by $9 trillion under Obama as much as all president’s before him COMBINED. In 4 years Obama increased the deficit by twice as much as Bush in 8 years…and Bush won a war Congress agreed to fight.
