the article that he should have written was about the (illegal by city, county, state, and federal law) sandbag seawall being constructed on Isle of Palms to protect a high rise condo in Wild Dunes. instead he writes about a natural phenomenon on a nature preserve.

One thing that doesn’t change is his faux-libertarian position that frames this state not as the Palmetto State but the Persecuted State, one where there is always some bogeyman trying to take something away; culture, tradition, way of life, money, freedom, rights, honor, religion, you name it. Rinse and repeat. Keep sense of threat and insecurity fresh and on the front burner with constant, repeated “threat alerts” and updates on the next threat/bogeyman–cause he’s right around the corner, behind any tree you might see, anywhere. You just need the “source/leader” to tell to where and when so you can prepare and defend. Wait, that sounds like Faux News too! And a lot of churches/pastors too

All this is basically wrong. While the ‘natural process’ is correct, it is rising sea level that forces the eroding part of that process. And the vastly older sandhills were not beaches by best accounts.

1) Plenty of people question how libertarian Willie actually is.
2) Many Libertarians still believe in public courts and law enforcement.
3) In the absence of public law enforcement, private law enforcement would very likely exist in some form. (I’d have reservations about this type of system for various reasons, but it would still exist.)
4) Injustice will exist in any system, from wrongful convictions to pebbles in shoes.

I usually compare Haley/SC against data when she took office and compare that % change with other state and the country.
