POLICE INVESTIGATING LINK TO BANK HEIST …
|| By FITSNEWS || In case you missed it, there was a bomb on the campus of the College of Charleston (S.C.) this week … well, until there wasn’t (oops).
And then there “maybe” was a bomb on campus … and finally, when all was said and done, yeah … there wasn’t.
Basically … a whole city got jerked around for nothing. But why? That’s what Charleston, S.C. police are investigating … and according to our sources, they have a lead.
In the aftermath of the debacle, FITS received an anonymous tip which we proceeded to run up the flagpole with our Lowcountry law enforcement sources. According to these sources, the bomb scare at the College of Charleston is linked to a bank robbery in the area – and police are seeking one suspect in connection with both the robbery and the threat.
“The bank was robbed about twenty minutes after the threat was called in,” one of our sources said.
The threat was called in on a “drop phone,” we’re told – or a “burner.”
According to one source, the heist in question involved the robbery of a NBSC bank in the West Ashley region of Charleston. That robbery took place at approximately 11:22 a.m. EST – roughly an hour after the threat was phoned in to the Charleston police department (and a half-hour after the college sent out its infamous “Cougar Alert“).

Rubbish! First, C of C admin blamed it on a computer glitch. Now, they throw us a story of a mastermind bank robber who thought to purchase a “throw away” phone, call in a bomb threat so as to divert cops away from his bank robbery. This is straight out of “Breaking Bad”.
