|| By FITSNEWS || College of Charleston officials are scrambling to explain how an entire city was thrown into panic over a false bomb threat. At around 11:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday morning, students received a “Cougar Alert” warning them that a bomb had been found on campus.
“A bomb has been found on the College of Charleston campus,” the alert stated. “If you are on campus, prepare immediately for possible evacuation.”
Police responded to the reports – blocking off streets and directing students away from the reported location of the bomb. Evacuations of certain buildings were underway.
Well guess what … there was no bomb. According to school officials a faulty dispatch code triggered the systemwide warning.
Ummmm … WHAT?

WHAT??
“a faulty dispatch code”. Gotta love it when a college admin puts the blame on “the computer”.
Let’s see if anyone falls for it. haha
And another reason to laugh at the C of C. More incompetence. And yet one more reason not to send your kids there.
It’s that darn Da Vinci Code. It predicted this to happen.
Probably a dispatch code in the computer aided dispatch system. i.e code 10 = units clear and available for calls code 19 = confirmed bomb threat. Someone fat fingered a key and set off the system. It’s a little dumb if they are pulling codes off the CAD to trigger alerts but more than likely that’s what they are doing.
“Cougar alert”??? They have a message going out for horny old ladies on campus?
Does USCe have a “Cock alert”?
+1
They have a message going out for horny old ladies on campus?
Finally, an alert system students will actually pay attention to.
Thanks Glenn McConnell! Bet if you weren’t so busy loving the Confederacy and hating minorities, this never would’ve happened.
