1. Cylvia Hayes is her name. Cynthia was used in one of her previous marriages.
2. One marriage hidden from the Governor until recently was apparently a green card marriage to a 18 year old Ethiopian illegal immigrant when she was 29. She was paid $5000 hoping to start a pot farm with her boyfriend.

The one singular thing that the “Great State of South Carolina” excels at is South Carolinians who believe the “Great State of South Carolina” is a shit-hot state.
It must be that inferiority complex that makes it irrestible to poke fun at another state at every opportunity.
I’ve been to Portland and other parts of Oregon while TDY in the Great northwest. One thing for sure is that the Oregon coastline is much more scenic then the boring coast of South Carolina – and you just might get to see a orca or two if you are lucky

I’ve had it in for Oreganders for years – I live in Washington state for five years an eon ago. Leatherman Tools, Benchmade Knives and Danner Boots had factories in Portland and I would drive down from time to time for warehouse sales. I fished the Columbia a good bit and hung out on the coast, which as you suggest is spectacular. The surfing and fishing are phenomenal (if a little chilly).
However, particularly in Portland and Eugene, the “liberal/libertarian ideal” is a bit overwhelming – once you get east of say Mt Hood, the place “kind of normals out a bit” much like eastern Washington state. I loved the time I spent in Umatilla but the people along and east of I-5 are nots.
Liberal or Conservative, when they have climbed this high and served this long they are up in the ether and they have lost sight of their constituency and they feel are untouchable.
I don’t know which is worst: insufferable liberals or bat-shit crazy conservatives. At least liberals have more fun.
Well at least they have a football team that is a legitimate contender yearly..more than the state of SC can say..and it rains..rains and rains..miserable place besides football.
In Oregon, none of this is bad or wrong or frowned upon. He won’t be forced out until he makes a non-PC comment about whatever the day’s outrage is – probably something anti-gender nonconformists. Oregon knew much of this before the election and reelected him anyway. The Oregonian knew more, and waited until after the reelection to bring it out. At least he didn’t make a disparaging Bruce Jenner comment.

He needs to go. He has embarrassed Oregon as much as Governor “Appalachian Trail” did South Carolina.
