I am no fan of Haley; her incompetence seems to know no bounds. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Nikki Haley is the best thing to happen to the democratic party in SC in decades. That being said, what does it say about the status of the democratic party in sc that they haven’t managed to beat her in an election for the sc house or in a gubernatorial race?
Does not bode well for either party. The democrats have run weak campaigns, and the republicans have run on cliches about “liberals.”
All one really needs to know about the electorate is that a visit from Palin propelled Haley to the governorship.
It doesn’t matter who the Democrats run.
SC is rock ribbed Republican like it used to be Democratic.
Historically ,South Carolinians seem to like a One Party system ,while demonizing those of the other party for no reason other than they are not part of the present majority.
For the foreseeable future statewide elections are meaningless ritualistic exercises.The REAL election is the Republican Primary.

It’s just unbelievable how many people refuse to even look into the high crimes Haley has committed. The Lexington Church goers (among many others) can’t even accept her crimes, when Haley actually takes bribes directly from Walmart to keep out Amazon.com from hiring 1000s of Lexington county citizens.
It’s just plain SAD!
Speaking of Amazon,I got an email from them telling me how much I spent last year,and that I might have to pay sales taxes.Amazon might be leaving soon.This is their standard MO.

Just for fun I read the House Journal for May 13, 2009, to see what the fuss is about. A bunch of nonsense as it turns out. I have no recollection of why Sen. Bright’s panties were in a bunch over this election, but when it was apparent that Judge Hearn had the votes to win, he moved to reject the entire slate (Judges Few and Jefferson had dropped out). Rep. Haley voted with the overwhelming majority to table that motion. The Legislature then elected Hearn by acclamation. Having actually participated in those elections, I can tell you that a couple of people said “aye” and the rest said nothing.
Good luck finding any evidence of whom Haley supported. The race was decided before the joint session started.
