“REPUBLICAN” RACE WIDE OPEN IN BATTLEGROUND STATES
|| By FITSNEWS || We’ve focused our 2016 presidential coverage thus far on early-voting states because … umm … they vote first. Oh, and because we happen to live in one of those early-voting states (the dumb one).
But as prospective 2016 candidates eye the first round of contests (and pundits asses their chances), pollsters are also keeping an eye on the “swing states” which will help determine the winner of the general election. We’re referring to states like Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania – all of which were won by Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012. Liberal “Republicans” insist that it will take a centrist candidate like former Florida governor Jeb Bush to win these states – but these pundits have been wrong in the last two elections.
Anyway, in the wake of former GOP nominee Mitt Romney‘s decision to forego a 2016 bid, Quinnipiac University has polled how various GOP and Democratic candidates are faring in these swing states.
“Mitt Romney’s withdrawal from the presidential race, at first blush, has no statistical benefit in Florida, Ohio or Pennsylvania for any candidate for the Republican presidential nomination,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll. “From the beginning of this survey, we asked Romney supporters who they would vote for if the 2012 standard-bearer bowed out, so we are able to measure the results of that decision. Looking at the final tally, his supporters moved evenly to a variety of the remaining candidates.”
Interesting …
In Florida, Bush’s stronghold, the former governor gets 32 percent support – well ahead of another Sunshine State politician, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (15 percent). Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee finished third with 11 percent, ahead of Wisconsin governor Scott Walker (9 percent), physician Ben Carson (8 percent) and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (four percent).
In Ohio, liberal “Republican” governor John Kasich enjoys a similar “native son” bounce – albeit much smaller than the edge Bush enjoys in Florida. Kasich – who is in the process of pushing massive tax hikes on Ohioans – drew 14 percent support in the Quinnipiac survey, ahead of Walker (11 percent), U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (10 percent), Bush (1o percent) and Carson (8 percent).
Huckabee gets seven percent of the vote in Ohio, ahead of Cruz (6 percent), New Jersey governor Chris Christie (6 percent) and Rubio (4 percent).
In Pennsylvania, Bush leads the field with 12 percent – ahead of Christie (11 percent), Huckabee (10 percent) and former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (8 percent), who represented the state in the U.S. House from 1991-95 and in the U.S. Senate from 1995-2007.
“The GOP race is all over the political map, with Governors Jeb Bush, Christopher Christie and Mike Huckabee jostling for the lead,” Quinnipiac pollster Tim Malloy said.
And on the Democratic side?
The race is effectively over … with former U.S. First Lady/ Senator/ Secretary of State Hillary Clinton enjoying huge leads (and the support of a majority of Democrats) in all three swing states.

Thought this was going to be an article about the swinger lifestyles of our state leaders. Color me disappointed.
Especially after reading “pundits asses”…
Me too. I was thinking Upstate Swingers Club.
“REPUBLICAN” RACE WIDE OPEN IN BATTLEGROUND STATES”
Would you expect anything less with the election 22 months away…filling space are you? There is nothing going on in the world that is of interest?
This is just FITS, and the Democrat party’s stream of consciousness, wringing their hands out loud. They’re VERY nervous, obviously.
They are worried that when the people FINALLY get to voice how they REALLY feel about Obama…now that the lies have been exposed…their party will be SEVERLY damaged for a LONG time…
personally i think almost 2 years is way too long to be campaigning, especially when a lot of the people doing the leg work have recently been elected to office
I think FITS and the Democrats are scared to death that Nov. 2014 was just a preview of how bad the Democrat Party will get its @$$ kicked in 2016…
No more Bush to blame, and the even Gallup – under threat by Obama – is admitting Obama’s lying out his @$$ about Job numbers…And Obamacare is a F*#king DISASTER by any standard…while the gas price dip was a fluke..and Obama STILL has NO energy policy, other than to kill coal, and raise all prices for already destitute families…
Obama is a Failure at EVERY corner…
If you hate Republicans, like FITS, does…There’s a Bad Moon on the rise for you…ain’t nothing good out there for you…
The media can only lie so much….You bout to get F*#ked…and the GOP is even figuring out the media lied, and the people HATE Democrats, and the mess you have made of the country.,…
We ’bout to move into a NEW AGE of beauty and Conservative ascendance…Thank God. Thank God Almighty…
Gas price are up 20% in some areas of the country as a barrel of oil has risen 15% in the last week.
When they switch to the ‘summer blend’ gas will be over $3 a gallon.
And my utility bill has skyrocketed under Obama…when you close down coal..it makes all energy cost way more…
Obama is an un-caring radical, leftwing idiot…
That happens when you start taking blood thinner – you turn the heat up higher and higher. But somehow that’s Obama’s fault. For a believer in personal responsibility you sure blame Obama and Bush a lot.
Attack Americans…not failure….just like your gods teach you…
Hate the dems so much they still voted with 20 million more votes for the dems last election, 20 million more people voted for dems than the gop in just the senate races alone..if it wasnt for the electoral system and gerrymandering your party would be obsolete in national elections.
WTF…You’re a F*#king Delusional idiot…
You think if you say something, that makes it, and your fantasies, true…LMAO..
again..dont be afraid of facts. Try them sometime. It will be a totally new experience for you.
That’s why even today, the polls show HIllary taking about 372 electoral votes over all challangers. Bush can’t even beat her in Florida. You’re a joke. And you’re about to get F*#ked by the RINOs – Pedro is getting his amnesty and they’re going to hand it to him. Idiot.
Too early to make other than broad, general assumptions about the 2016 race. I would think at this point we will not see that much of a variance from 2012. Both parties will pick a candidate that will be painted with their own party’s traditional stripes. One factor, like Bush’s popularity in 2008, led to the election of the Democrat, Obama in 2008. While many think he is rising in the polls now, he should be down in the dumps for 2016, just like he was before the 2014 election. I think Obama’s incompetency will play a major role in the 2016 Presidential election.
I think “pundits asses” would be more interesting. I was disappointed having them instead assess candidates. ;-(
From the Kennedy assassination up until 9/11 one hidden hand from Texas is ruling unchallenged all over this Country and the next US elections will extend its reach to the entire World.
All that is happening in our days is the prelude to enormous changes but even before discussing in regard of the possible remedy one must be clear about how we came to this point recognizing both physiognomy and origin of the threat.
Since George H. Bush was CIA director, the US secret State agencies had played a double role to finally get to where we are today when every person is constantly monitored by NSA and other agencies not to report the information to the US Government but to feed with all data the embryo of a new superpower still kept hidden.
In brief, here is how it came to possess all means and to know everything of everyone.
In 1988 the ex CIA director was elected president although this was a US president like no other. His attention quickly turned to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait from where he personally benefited immensely in exchange for the protection of those tyrants and their oil while in the United States instead the president observed his son, Neil, to be the author of the largest robbery of its time, the “Savings and Loans” scandal. After a few years, the next largest robbery in history was Enron that financed the electoral campaign for his other son, George. Once he also became president, the son plotted the most infamous attack on US soil, 9/11, to begin the widest monitoring program ever conceived and to consolidate for 8 years the interest of one family above all. The day before 9/11 the Bush administration announced missing 2.3 trillion dollars from the US State Department. It could not provide any explanation and was never again discussed following the events of 9/11. That is still today the largest robbery in history.
In our days, a group of Zionists, like a hidden parallel government, with George Bush still today at the head of secret services in the US, UK and Israel, is the destabilizing force behind most terror events and with classified information at disposal and a private army is plotting what now would seem unthinkable to many. The spokesman for this group in the US Congress is John Mc Cain who reports the given orders weighing on the US administration. Incredibly, his picture taken with the chief of ISIS was discovered and reported by the news but with no consequence for the Senator since he is the one in charge of the Intelligence Committee.
A World War and chaos everywhere have already been planned so that desperate people will soon invoke a New World Order without even knowing what that is.
Not the protests or violence in the streets could ever oppose such threat to the whole Humankind.
When Jeb Bush will be president, the next War will be inevitable and also come by surprise.
It will be the excuse to completely abolish the concept of Equality and all human rights associated with it celebrating the rise of one “chosen people” so to weave Religions with their plot.
Like the Robbery of all times in the name of a New World Order that in fact would want to appear as that Greater State of Israel already described in the Bible.
The only possibility to counter the Zionist threat is for Humankind to drop all its borders and to become One single Country.
Aside from any possible excuse of Religion or other, the Conflict needs to be defined from the beginning only pro or against Equality without distinctions for Religion, race or Country.

“Liberal “Republicans” insist that it will take a centrist candidate like former Florida governor Jeb Bush to win these states – but these pundits have been wrong in the last two elections.”
So is Fits saying that R’s can afford to drop these electoral vote rich states like so much peanut shells on the floor of a redneck bar? I tell you what, you lose Ohio and Florida…you’re pretty much already screwed as an R. You know you will lose Calif and NY and there are lots of purple states that will keep you occupied with fewer electoral votes.
