WASH. RINSE. REPEAT.
|| By FITSNEWS || We’ve written on this previously, but S.C. governor Nikki Haley made good this week on her promise to combat criminal domestic violence in the Palmetto State with … another task force!
That’s right … South Carolina taxpayers will be shelling out money for yet another government “study” of yet another issue in which they are bringing up the rear nationally. Say it with us everybody … “it’s a great day in South Carolina!”
Anyway, our own Taylor Brown chimed in on the actual legislation related to this issue HERE … while South Carolina Democrats have previously rebuked Haley for her “task force” HERE.
But it’s all good because Haley had some new rhetoric to throw at the situation …
“I’m a mom, I’m a wife and I’m a sister, and I’ve got to protect those around me,” Haley said. “But, in order to protect those around me, we have to change the culture. If we don’t, we will continue to see generational cycles of domestic violence in South Carolina.”
Yup. That should do it … especially seeing as Haley has installed a staffer from her disastrous S.C. Department of Social Services (SCDSS) to oversee the task force’s “victim and offender” subcommittee.
Can’t wait to see how that pans out (editor’s note: sarcasm alert).
We also can’t wait to see how Haley handles the Second Amendment component of this debate … especially seeing how well she’s gotten along with gun rights’ advocates in the past (editor’s note: sorry, that was more sarcasm).
Should be an interesting debate moving forward …

The back door intrusion into our second amendment right is as important as the rest of this law. When the govt. can take your right to defend yourself away at just the accusation of CDV, not only have they taken your guns but what about innocent till proven guilty ? I realize there are extenuating circumstances to every rule but the constitution should be the control here as every where else.
The law reads upon CONVICTION of CDV not accusation. If you are convicted, then Sir You have been PROVEN GUILTY!!
A bad unconstitutional law. Meanwhile, we know your real name. *winks*
This law is definitely not unconstitutional. It is certainly not a bad law. People who commit CDV are violent criminals and should not be allowed to have guns.
Prove it is constitutional. You can’t, chump.
Prove its not. You can’t, chump. Because it is. Laws are constitutional until they are ruled unconstitutional. No one is even willing to make an attempt to have this law overturned, because they know they can’t.
You must be one of those people who is not supposed to have a gun. Wife beater.
hahahahahahaha …. Your psychosis is showing. I am making you angry! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!! ….
What a dumbass you are. Fuck you. HAHAHAHAAHA!!!!
It started out as accusation. Maybe someone actually read it before they voted on it.
” back door intrusion”
That’s not the first time that phrase has been uttered in combination with Haley.
As well as I remember, and I remember well, Ohaley was your candidate Rogue!
I supported Ervin, a true conservative, who supports the Second and as a former judge and legislator was a much better candidate than the Governot.
I also remember your undying love of the “MANCHILD” Andre Bauer.
Right on both counts. Ervin was a front man to take votes from Haley, nothing more. I actually listened to him when he came to my home town. Reminded me of Fred Thompson in 2008. Saying what people wanted to hear without a chance of winning.
Andre’ would have made a better gov. than any one of his opponents. But people like you refused to acknowledge his potential and opted to whine about his driving fast. The governor has a driver full time as if it mattered. SC has screwed themselves with the popular gov. not the best gov. Maybe we will get it right next time. But I won’t be betting on it.
You sir are full of it!
I know Ervin and encouraged him to run.
He has conviction, is honest, moral and ethical. All of which Haley is NOT!
Just wait, she will be as big an embarrassment as Obama befor it’s said and done…GUARANTEED!
Go away and play with yourself. Take your multiply names (Terry, etc) with you.
HAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Why do you Republicans always feel the need to make stuff up. Can’t you get at lest some of the facts correct. To much Fake News Network must rot your brains. If you have been convicted of CDV and you have a gun you are a criminal. First you committed CDV. That makes you a criminal. Now you are illegally in possession of a fire arm. That makes you a criminal twice. This law is not unconstitutional.
After months of hearings, wasn’t the Senate DSS Oversight Subcommittee supposed to issue a report with recommendations?
The Governor’s Executive Order creating the DVTF has a list of “entities” to be represented on the Task Force.
Executive Order 2015-04 – Establishing the Domestic Violence Task Force
http://www.governor.sc.gov/ExecutiveOffice/Pages/ExecutiveOrders.aspx
http://www.governor.sc.gov/Documents/2015-04%20Establishing%20the%20Domestic%20Violence%20Task%20Force.pdf
There are so many “entities” listed that there are not enough letters in the alphabet to cover the list. With such an extensive list of bureaucrats, it remains to be seen how much they can really accomplish in less then a year.
The root cause of CDV is the culture of South Carolina. How do they propose to change that?
“The root cause of CDV is the culture of South Carolina. How do they propose to change that?”
Dear Sir,
There is no law we can’t pass to try to fix something. It doesn’t matter whether it “works” or not. Our job is to pass laws, not sit on our asses and do nothing or strike bad laws down. That’s what “progress” is, more laws.
Best Regards,
General Assembly
When I might venture in to a Walmart in an area where black residents reside, I hear so many black mothers shopping with little ones in tow, threatening to slap or beat their offspring to their faces. Addressing the root, yes. Reacting to national rankings, always proven that new and more laws actually do not a damn thing in making numbers go down. And in this recent campaign, they are singling out men again (the old southern way) – blaming them for everything when it has been proven time and time and time again, that WOMEN are just as violent at men. This state is so fucked up, it will take a total removal of all the corrupt assholes in government to get things right. All they do is make FEEL GOOD laws, give themselves BIG PAY RAISES, while still dishing out several weeks of sick leave/annual leave (at OUR expense) to WELL PAID government employees, and multiple week PAID vacations (again, at OUR EXPENSE).
Its all coming to a head. People everywhere are fed up with SC politics; and they want hundreds HEADS to Roll.
That’s absurd.
We had an election less than three months ago.
All the incumbents were reelected statewide
South Carolinians LOVE their state government.
Nikki, Dick Eckstrom’s on line 1. Wants his boy to chair the task force!
Stands to reason! One incompetent, immoral reprobate to another. They could round out the corrupt, immoral, unethical intellect with Bob Peeler, Bobby Harrell,
Ken Ard, Danny Frazier, Jimmy Metts, Thomas Ravenel and have presentations by Obama and Bill Clinton.
Oh great, let me guess, we’re going to spend a buttload of cash on a “War On Violence”(can that be done?). It has worked so well with the:
War on Terror
War on Drugs
War on Poverty
War on Stupidity
and on and on and on.
Laws don’t make people doing quit stuff, the fear of harsh penalty does. This money would be better spent getting the women De-programmed and the Hell out of the situation.
Like back in the 1990s, the lock them all up approach. That really worked well too, not. SC has not built a new prison in decades (when the population was around 3.9 million. Now we are tipping 5,000,000 residents ( a lot of transplants have moved here for jobs), and we still have the same number of prisons and beds within the same. And the number of state troopers on our roads is still very very very small. Lots of piss poor management by Haley and her cronies. And lets not leave out the notoriously corrupt General Assembly.
“And the number of state troopers on our roads is still very very very small.” HUH???? Seems like I see at least one or two every time I get on the road. I thought we had too many.
“Laws don’t make people quit doing stuff, the fear of harsh penalty does.”
Yep, and one of those penalties is you don’t get to have a gun, ever.
Task Force … ROFLMAO!!!!!!
We Need To Make It a Felony For An Elected Representative (like Haley), State Judges, Constitutional Officers and the like To Have Alcohol In Their System While Being at Work and/or Anytime While Conducting Government Business.
We need to drug test all elected officials daily.
Sic Willie is still on that Adoration Train, posting more attractive photos of the Governess (sigh)….
As long as one cop – and, it ain’t just one – can call CDV A&B to prevent the perpetrator from having 3 CDVs on his record and getting the charge bumped up to circuit court and as long as an elected solicitor can give a ‘partner’ abuser PTI for a crime involving allegations of violent crime all the task forces in the world are just grandstanding bullshit.
Who the hell is still impressed with this kind of thing EXCEPT the average SCGOP voter?
Obama appoints a “czar” to do something about a problem and gets criticized.
This one appoints a bunch of mini-czars to talk about a problem and nada.
Apparently giving it to taxpayers up the ass 24/7 isn’t Criminal Domestic Violence
Consider yourselves luck to have a diligent exploratory staff of reporters in Gruberment.
Out here in Taxifornia, in the SF Bay Area, there are more g’ment employees working on homeless questions than there are homeless. (6525 homeless in San Francisco City and County, last count, not counting recently arrived illegals.)
(The Bay Area is also blessed with whole platoons of dirty bird cleaners for when there might be an oil spill. All of ‘em union certified and on the City, County and State payrolls. The last time a dirty bird that needed cleaning, 17 g’ment employees showed up.)
Yay! Another win for victims of CDV in SC… oh wait…
