Columbia, SC – The South Carolina Democratic Party announced today that former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley will be speaking at the 2015 John Spratt Issues Conference. Governor O’Malley will address party activists and leaders as part of the National Speaker Series.
“We are very proud that Governor O’Malley will be addressing our Party at the 2015 Issues Conference,” said Jaime Harrison, Chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party. “This is an exciting opportunity for our party to continue the dialogue on important issues that matter to our state, and to hear from national leaders about how we move our state forward.”
“Governor O’Malley oversaw a balanced approach of spending cuts, regulatory reform, and modern investments that brought Maryland to the top of national rankings in education, innovation, and infrastructure. He helped strengthen Maryland’s middle class with initiatives like raising the minimum wage to $10.10 and expanding the earned income tax credit. Called ‘arguably the best manager in government’ by Washington Monthly magazine, Governor O’Malley is an example we can learn from here in South Carolina,” added Harrison.
The 2015 Issues Conference will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC from February 27th and 28th. Tickets can be found at http://www.scdp.org/events/2015-john-spratt-issues-conference/ or by calling the SCDP Headquarters at (803) 799-7798. The SCDP will be announcing other speakers, including the John Spratt Issues Conference Keynote Speaker, in the coming days and weeks.
