Dear Editor,
I have spent the last nearly 4 months hiding from the world. Heartbroken and Embarrassed – I moved to South Carolina to be with the love of my life. On October 4th, I was supposed to marry him – which didn’t happen; and a week later, he was arrested for domestic violence.
The day after he was arrested, I took an at home pregnancy test realizing I was late – and what do you know, my ‘worst nightmare’ just came true. Not only did my entire engagement/wedding fall apart, my ex was sitting in jail – and I was pregnant with his child.
I’m thankful for the friends who listened to me complain, cry, sob, and who helped me through the three months of transition prior to me finally getting a great job and being able to move back ‘home’, but embarrassed with my obviously growing preggo belly – I have avoided the world. My days have consisted of going to work … and then coming home and crying until I finally fell asleep. Avoiding contact with anyone who might see me – who might realize ‘oh I thought you were supposed to get married? You’re pregnant?” etc. etc. etc.
I only share this entire situation – because despite all of it, despite the horrific nightmare of timing this pregnancy could have occurred during – I know without a doubt my Heavenly Father created this child – and that life is within me. I will never tell anyone that they are right or wrong for their choices – especially when it comes to abortion – because I know how hard circumstances can be. I know how lonely it can be – and trust me, if you didn’t already read it – I spend many of nights sobbing myself to sleep … So I get it – I understand.
Unplanned pregnancy is never easy, no matter the situation. But neither is killing an innocent life. And these fingers my friends – are fingers that belong to a human being that currently lives ‘inside of me’ – but is real, and deserves every chance of liberty and the pursuit of happiness that the rest of ‘outside the womb’ deserve as well. I would strongly encourage each of my friends to pray for the mothers who are in similar situations as myself – that they too can find the strength, even when it seems impossible, to know that their child has a purpose and is here for a reason, and that they too will be strong enough to consider Adoption over Abortion.

God bless
God Bless you! You & your baby are in my thoughts & prayers.
Lady, I am weeping. God will Bless you. Great letter.
i too would rather there be no abortions, but in an imperfect world it is important for women to have options and have the right to choose for themselves.
Abortion: Another false choice for womenkind. Damned if you do abort by your conscience, damned if you don’t abort by BF, husband, …maybe no one? Live with the consequences: forever.
Blair, I am sincerely happy for you, but be glad you had a choice, just as every woman should have. I bet you would feel differently if some ‘church’ or old, white man in DC said you HAD to abort the baby because you were not married.
What would an old black man in DC tell her?
“Bend over baby, I’m taking it you again. I gots 15 udder kids on welfare.”
“Bitch set me up.”
No, instead we have a long dead white woman who believed in eugenics calling the shots. SO much better….
For you Blair…you will read hateful comments directed toward you…keep the faith and a song for you…

Choice is a beautiful thing.
I’m very happy that you chose not to kill your baby.
Abortion is barbaric…not unlike a beheading. Most sensate beings recoil from the latter. In a multicultural nation, I understand we need to protect the rights of others who don’t always hold our view. But, increasingly I don’t see it as an enlightened one.
Hmmmm . . . this tear-jerker letter sounds canned to me . . . .
Wait until she tries to collect child support from this loser, this “love of her life”..
It took Fits all day and several drafts to get it right.
It does seem more an indictment of her X than abortion.
She’s hiding from the world, yet sends a letter to FITSNEWS? If the letter is for real, publishing it is a cheap shot.
For thousands of years the lives of women have been controlled by men. In the 21st century, isn’t it about time to allow women to make critical decisions over their own lives?
Is this Kelly Payne?
No really. I hope you moved to a blue state where they care about babies after they’re born…not just while they’re in the womb.
The people who should care most about the conception and care of a child should be the parents, NOT the STATE. If you are bringing the STATE into the mix because parenting is just too much for you, abstain from sex, use triple protection birth control, or band up with sister wives and practice polygamy.
Good luck to you. I hope that you and the child’s father consider giving the child to adoptive parents.
Will,
Thank you for publishing this ‘letter’ from Blair. IF just ONE life is saved from FITSNEWS posting this ‘letter’, I say thank you Jesus.
My time is over on FITS.

Abortion is legal – deal with it.
If heroin was legal, would you use it? Republicans would.
it was legal to kill jews in nazi germany…doesn’t make it right…legal doesn’t always mean right…
Of course not.
“Right” is in the hands of the victors – independent of our personal opinions about it.
We struggle with reason so that we do not waste our energy fighting with shadows over our favorite color while our children go hungry, and people languish in prison for crimes against fictional gods.
two dead end options legal availability versus choice
The best of all evils that man has availed himself of so far is using reason, rather than religion, to govern.
The basis for our decisions should be, and ideally, is, the greatest good for the greatest number, not an individual’s moral compass or personal opinion – nor should our decisions be solely concerned with consistency in matters which are obviously not beneficial to the greater good.
Authority must be, and is, limited by the will of the people – good or bad.
You were fortunate to be able to choose. A lot of people would be happy to take that right from you.
If adoption is her choice, then I commend her for this selfless decision. If she chooses to keep the illegitimate child like all the movie stars do, then she’s contributing to the problem of fatherless children and the problems that brings.
