South Carolina tunes out.
Woody and Bo would be ashamed of you! :-)
The coolest first gentleman ever? Dear Lord, that should give every citizen the runs. What in the hell is wrong with her?
LOL! The numbers have finally sunk in. Gas tax increase here we come!
This woman will get lip service for her other two parts of change. Compromise will be easy for this General Assembly. Token give-ups so that the inevitable gas tax increase can be enacted.
The numbers don’t lie. Revenue must be raised to make our transportation system safe and efficient. The Queen, after 4 years of accounting remediation training has finally grasped the numbers.
If Haley’s doing it at the state level, I hope GOP voters realize what’s going to happen at the national level.
Cato and Friends can rally against it all they want but even the GOP isn’t listening anymore.
My god this was terrible. Like a high school candidate for student body president.
The Sheeheen response was like a tea bag brewed for the third time. And the pablum spewed by the members afterward doesn’t even merit comment.
After 4 years why would you expect more?
Amen to that!!!
I’ve personally seen how money goes to the Government and is blown up a goats rear!
Once they get their hands on our money, their eyes gloss over and they start looking for their pork projects to fund, finding jobs for their friends and contributors (Haley, Peeler, Leatherman are some of the worse offenders).
They need to cut and should start with their wasteful perks, spending and junkets.
Haley is no Jim Edwards, Carrol Campbell, Dick Riley, nor Bob Mcnair!
I personally worked with her, she is a fake and liar!
wonder if she will subtract these 300 jobs from her total?

We will pay the tax, as we should. Our roads are in need.
We will pay a tax. We may get the roads we need, that certainly is possible, though not probable.
We will pay the tax, that is for sure.
10 cents though? Damn…
It’s a great day in…..bwwwarrrggghghhhh (the sound of me puking).
wipe your nose.
You can raise taxes today if you promise to lower taxes tomorrow, and if you let me appoint all the Highway Commissioners so thai I, and I alone, control the roads. And not a word about the infrastructure bank!
People, we have been had. The gas tax goes up, she doles out the money like the spoils of days gone bye, and we get a promise of lower taxes. And Leatherman rakes in the big cash from the infrastructure bank.
Bad deal. Yes, a very bad deal for us.
Not one word about the DOR hacking affair and who is responsible and who will be prosecuited after 2 fucking years???????
OH, I forgot, it’s still under investigation by almighty SLED
Russians. Beyond our reach. How many corporate, State Department and Defense Department hacks have occurred since then? This is the world we live in. Get use to it. It’s going to happen and they hardly ever get prosecuted.
Listen,
That don’t fucking matter.
We’re talking about individual law abiding citizens who did EXACTLY what the great state of South Carolina required them to do under PENALITY of LAW and have had their financial lives compromised – not some government agency or corporation.
That’s what is wrong with this state. A bunch of tough talk and no action.
They are trying to sweep this mess under the rug and I for one am not going to forget about it
I’m NO Democrat (I’m a PROUD independent as you may know) but if this had happened under a Democraticic govenor this shit would be mentioned every time a Republican had the chance to make an issue of it.
How do you know it was the Russians???
Let’s just suppose that it was the Russian mob – how come Queen Namrata or SLED hasen’t come forth with any details in almost TWO FUCKING YEARS?????
It would be easy to make them the “whipping boy”.
I’m just asking for a progress report for crying out loud and SLED and Queen namrata are silent as hell on the matter
Actions speak louder than words “Bible Thumper” and from what I’ve seen over the last two years the actions of the “great state” of South Carolina ain’t worth shit.
Again, a lot of talk but on action
Come to think of it, maybe that ought to be the motto on one side of the Great Seal of South Carolina and “We’ll spread our legs for the right price” on the other………………………
Under Keel, Lloyd, Stewart and James SLED has become a political Gestapo and JOKE!
The “head of the nail” just got a direct hit!
Marko is absolutely right on!
I would not trust Haley, Peeler, Leatherman or most of the rest with anything, especially MY money!
People, we have been had.
Says who? Either voters:
1) voted for her knowing what the last 4 years were like and knowing that the same would continue,
2) voted against her hoping to avoid it,
3) didn’t vote at all, showing complete apathy and/or resignation towards it.
Only those who chose the second option get to disown this stuff. There is no “being had” here. She’s going to run every agency as “efficiently” as she has run DHEC, DSS, and DOR.
We love you Nikki!!! I have tears in my eyes reading the words from the BEST governor in America.
A job creating machine that loves God,family and her country.
Amen Nikki and may you continue on the path of greatness.
Take off the tin foil hat and step away from the Kool-Aid!
Your MaMa must have dropped you on your head and then run you over with the motor home!!!!! What Bull Shit!
Brown nosing the boss? :)
Look to the future … Haley’s last State of the State.
“And Michael has now been home from his very dangerous war deployment in harm’s way serving our country being a damn proud American for more than five years now and I am patriotic by association …”
TL;DR Nikki…look up the word “brevity”.
DOES THIS HELP?
“Let’s cut our state income tax rate from 7 percent to 5 percent over the next decade. That’s a nearly 30 percent reduction in state income taxes. Nationally, it will take us from 38th in income tax competitiveness to 13th. Regionally, it will put our rate back below those of North Carolina and Georgia.
Next, let’s change the way we spend our infrastructure dollars and get rid of the legislatively elected transportation commission so the condition of South Carolina’s roads is no longer driven by short-sighted regionalism and political horse trading, and we stop wasting our tax money.
Finally, let’s increase the gas tax by ten cents over the next three years, and let’s dedicate that money entirely toward improving our roads. That will keep our gas tax below both Georgia and North Carolina,…
Now, I hope everyone listened carefully to what I said. This is a three-part package deal. In order to get my signature on any gas tax increase, we need to restructure the DOT, and we need to cut our state income tax by two percent.”
Let’s cut our state income tax rate from 7 percent to 5 percent over the next decade.
Doesn’t fix the fact that you hit the top tax bracket at a relatively low income level. Why not push the 7% out to around $40k? That way people making around the average household income in SC or lower pay the 5%, smaller revenue hole to fill and the income tax becomes more progressive.
It amazes me she suggests a 10 cent increase in the gas tax. Holy crap. Wasn’t the last proposal 5 cents? Does she have figures that justify that big of an increase? Sounds like she’s itching to ram through the DOT boondoggles.
“Does she have figures that justify that big of an increase? Sounds like she’s itching to ram through the DOT boondoggles.”
Precisely, it’s pure incompetence. You don’t throw a number out until you audit the dysfunctional agency in question(SCDOT) first to see how the money they get is being used now.
What other states “do” is irrelevent as far as a tax rate..you first get the accountability via audit, then you go from there.
You don’t already start shoveling taxpayer money to them.
The ten cents is to pay for the 2% cut. You can raise the standard deduction, but it is simpler to match the Federal deduction.
You’re missing my point: sending more money to an agency that can’t account for it all let alone use it efficiently is not a solution.
She proposes changing the structure of the agency, but doesn’t spell out out short of removing the current commission and the manner in which they are chosen, what fundamental changes would occur.
You would think that her being a bookeeper formerly, would have prompted her to call for an audit to start.
She highlighted the problem, but really didn’t propose a full solution.
Go back to your comment on the ten cents to pay for the 2%, what if an audit revealed we didn’t need ten cents to fix our roads?
Then it becomes a tax increase….which is why she shouldn’t have thrown out a number.
Yes, thank you.
SC is one of the best states. Freedom and individual responsibility made the US great. If you want the opposite, move to a tyranny of your choice, or a blue state.
Very well said!
Except in education, roads, poverty, literacy, domestic violence, etc….
Yeah, we rock.
SC is one of the best states.
You don’t read
many state rankings, do ya?No they are busy working and raising their families.Serving their communities and coaching athletic teams or volunteering at a local organization to better the place they live. Hitting the beaches and mountains when leisure time is available.
Not whiny liberals with no life whose only purpose in life is tearing their community and state down. Low lifes with no life.
Rock on South Carolina behind your ‘rock star’ of a governor!!!
Careful, if you go too deep up Haley’s ass, you may get stuck.
Keep beating your wives, dropping out of school, living in the 19th century…. rock on South Carolina, indeed!
Have never had anyone in my life or family like that…don’t know anybody like that.
Maybe you are running in the wrong ‘social’ circles?
She felt no need to explain her position on ethics reform to the General Assembly. I wish she would explain it to me.
Education? Same ole, same ole. No school choice.
I don’t think the changes to DSS are going to be enough.
I like the tax swap and more money for roads.
She is still a jobs magnet. She looked good. Better than I have seen in a while.
Lying skank! We’ll see a tax increase now and none of the other bs she mentioned.
Hey, I thought she looked absolutely awesome. In that dress and hell I could not take my eyes off those lips. I love when a woman dresses hot then fucks me!! I just wish it were a fuck I could enjoy. Damn Nik you lied. Spin it how you want, tax break on one side, I love those words win, win. That’s when you know you’re getting that balls deep penetration.
TL;DR
Anyone remember when we used to have smart, thoughtful governors like Jim Edwards and Dick Riley? Sheesh.
She just never grew up. Sad little, well not so little anymore, girl.

What a lying crooked thief she is. The hypocrisy she spouts is unbelievable.
But, what is even more unbelievable is how many people drink her KoolAid without even checking for the poison; even when warned it’s all tainted poisonous lies.
Governot Haley praising a Democrat? Has Hell frozen over?
