CONSERVATIVE CRITICS BLAST MOVE AS “TACTICAL FEINT”
|| By FITSNEWS || By a 236-191 tally, the U.S. House of Representatives voted this week to de-fund president Barack Obama‘s executive orders on immigration – attempting to undo the administration’s controversial executive amnesty effort.
“We are dealing with a president who has ignored the people, ignored the Constitution, and even his own past statements,” U.S. Speaker John Boehner said in a rare floor speech.
Really? We agree with Boehner on the substance of this issue … but we’re done pretending he’s serious about challenging Obama.
After all, we know how this script ends …
So do “Republican” voters too, apparently …
Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for the “Speaker who cried Wolf” to get called out. One prominent conservative blogger – Ace of Spades HQ – referred to Boehner’s play as nothing more than a “tactical feint” and the latest example of the “manipulations of the establishment.”
“I don’t see the point of pretending this deception is real,” he wrote, adding “there’s no way I’m going to pretend the GOP’s silly shadow-play is something I should take seriously. They’re going to sell us out, and I’m not going to act as a theater critic.”
We concur … wholeheartedly.
They are going to sell you out … they’ve been selling you out for years.
Another conservative website, Hot Air, downplayed the significance of the vote.
“This was always a goodwill gesture to conservatives and little more,” the website noted, referring to the measure’s uncertain future in the new “GOP-controlled” U.S. Senate.
“The first big test of the new Republican-controlled Senate is going to be a painful failure on an issue that conservatives care a lot about,” the website predicted.
Indeed it will … and whether all those “conservatives” know the intricacies of immigration policy or not, there’s no denying they care about this issue. A lot.
“Republicans” are not serious about fixing Washington, D.C. – they are only serious about controlling Washington, D.C. They don’t want to cut off the spigot, in other words, they just want to keep their hands on it.
De-funding amnesty? It’s another side show to keep our eyes off the real betrayals …

Absolutely, they’re the best kind. Presenters aren’t prepared, people who have nothing to do with the process briefing “the process”, training aids don’t work, no network connectivity for a web application that requires web access.

Another pointless exercise in posturing by our feckless Congress. Have they considered meeting with representatives of the White House and crafting legislation for the president’s signature? That’s how it worked in the old days. Nah, then they couldn’t use the issue to fund-raise among the credulous and Fox News and Limbaugh wouldn’t have the fodder for their faux outrage. Building coalitions, hammering out consensus and negotiating for progress on issues is hard work. Our Congress isn’t up to it.

Here it comes ladies and genteman. The rhinos are polishing the horns in anticipation of sticking the right up the butts of “real conservatives” like GT and / or one in the same / Flip Crisco. So first is the dead-ender legislation that can’t even pass the Senate. It actually can’t even get a vote. Then in a last minute effort in the second week of February McConnell Benedict Arnold will rush over to the White House with Boehner in tow, and negotiate a free ride funding bill with the White House that will quietly include $38 billion in additional border security (i.e. border patrol free police / public safety subsidies for Arizona and Texas towns along the border) – with the quiet over a beer and burger understanding that amnesty is a must have. Once the Feb deadline is avoided with this “emergency bi-partisan” legislation, Boehner will say it’s critical to address immigration reform. That will be three bills, the first designating the extra $38 billion to be used in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas – plus an additional $28 billion for Lockheed to build a new generate “drone fence.” The second will increase the guest worker program, and increase the number of legal immigrants allowed to enter the US from Central America and Mexico and trible the technology visas so Indians can come work here. Then, the final bill will be legal status for 7 million illegal aliens, and legalization for the Dreamers, along with a pathway to citizenship. The first bill will pass with overwhelming GOP votes, as will the second, but on the second bill the whitey-righties will start to back off, but they’ll still get 230 GOPPERs (Got No Pedros) to vote along. The last one will be down to the wire, then Boehner will announce – “Debt LImit – We’re going to Get Obamacare nixed in Debt Limit” – whitey righty will do a “Look, Pretty Penny” headturn, then Pelosi will bring over 120 Dems to vote with Boehner on bill number three, it will pass, and Boehner wil say – “Recess Time.”

The GOP’s most outspoken proponent of comprehensive immigration reform let loose in an interview with reporters here, detailing quiet efforts to draft far-reaching legislation, saying House leadership is “committed” to bringing the hot-button topics on the floor and criticizing President Obama for carrying out too many deportations.
“We’re the party of deportation? Look at this president’s numbers!” Rep. Jeff Denham said.
The California Republican says he is part of a working group laying the ground work to bring forward comprehensive immigration reform, and that top-ranking Republicans are supportive of addressing the full gamut of immigration topics in legislation in 2015.
“I think leadership’s commitment is not only to bring up immigration reform, but to bring it up in multiple different bills. The question is the timing of that and the sequence of those bills,” Denham said.
“We’ve gotta be able to discuss the DREAMers, the 11.5 million that are here today, as well as a Guest Worker program, in the overall discussion of border security,” Denham said, later adding, “We’ve had a working group for quite some time on the various pieces of immigration on doing everything from a comprehensive bill to a step-by-step approach, but finding out who in our conference is actually open to debate and discussion.”
