HEADING TO THE COAST …
|| By FITSNEWS || This website has waxed and waned when it comes to the Tea Party movement … which exploded on the scene in 2009 as a to the overreach of the administration of U.S. president Barack Obama. Six years later, though, Obama is still overreaching … and in many cases the Tea Party brand has been co-opted by the “Republican” establishment.
Anyway … it’s impossible to really judge the “Tea Party” because so many politicians of diverse ideological orientation have applied the label to themselves. For example we chuckle whenever we hear people say “the Tea Party is racist” – because one of the few politicians we would regard as having governed in a manner mostly consistent with the Tea Party ideal is U.S. Sen. Tim Scott.
And he’s twice as black as Obama …
Sure we have differences with Scott on certain issues – and have criticized him harshly when we felt he deserved it – but the fact remains he’s been far more ideologically consistent than most of the GOP politicians swept to office in 2010 on the “Tea Party” wave.
Whatever we – or you- think of the “Tea Party,” though, it remains a definite (if not entirely definable) force in early-voting South Carolina.
Take this weekend’s big event in Myrtle Beach, S.C. sponsored by the S.C. Tea Party Coalition.
The group’s fifth annual “Tea Party Convention” has drawn at least four candidates who are openly flirting with 2016 presidential campaigns: Media mogul Donald Trump, neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum and perhaps the most credible of the bunch, current U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (news of Cruz’s appearance at the event was first reported here on FITS, incidentally).
The Myrtle Beach event has also drawn several U.S. Congressmen who have been making a splash on the national stage. Among them? Oklahoma’s Jim Bridenstine (who has been leading an effort to repeal the Sixteenth Amendment) and Texas’ Louie Gohmert (who challenged fiscally liberal U.S. Speaker John Boehner earlier this month).
Half of South Carolina’s “Republican” congressional delegation will be there – as will S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson.
In addition to all these candidates and elected officials, numerous other operatives, activists and policy analysts will show up … and of course a gaggle of local, state and national media will be reporting, opining and tweeting on the proceedings (including our very own Will Folks).
That’s right … they’re letting our founding editor out of his man cave (just this once).
The convention is kind of a big deal, in other words, sort of an early spring training game in the still percolating 2016 “First in the South” presidential primary.
While we’re still not exactly sure what to expect from this event, so far its organizers have been incredibly well-organized and accommodating. We’ve also been promised some face time with several of the big-name speakers … so be on the lookout for a flurry of articles related to those conversations.
And yes, if you’re not already following us on Twitter … now would be a good time to do so.

Editor, what editor, we don’t need no stinking editor…
“..which exploded on the scene in 2009 as a to the overreach of the administration of U.S. president Barack Obama…”
Response?
Result of?
Its very hard to be literate when you type with two fingers and try to squuuze it all into 140 characters.
Tweets? Tweets! … we don’ need no stinking tweets.
The only one to benefit from this convention is Joe Dugan. His personal bank account will swell when he deposits all of the money that the tea bag idots pay for admission.
Fine. You can’t come.
TWSS
Ha!
Duggan in a total douche.
Tea Party Convention….or gathering of angry and paranoid old white folks.
You say tomatoh I say tomatah….
My guess is you attend meetings promoting radical Islam and LGBT events in search of ‘young men’.
For reals tho…how many minorities will be at this convention? Hell, how many minorities make up the GOP (and don’t feed me the .000000000000001% consisting of Tim Scott).
How many whites attend a NAACP convention?
Thankfully I also doubt there will be any pedophile loving homosexual lesbian transgender gay marriage supporting muslim loving ugly democrat women bitches at this convention.
And DAMN FITS don’t give Boz a fuckin ticket. Won’t be a pork chop or roll of toilet paper left. :-)
Obviously a product of S.C. homeschooling.
Limbaughsaphatkhunt = Obviously a product of S.C. homeschooling. Takes one to know one … wipe your nose.
Dude…you just plagiarized my line. Can’t you come up with anything original?
Takes one to know one … wipe your nose.
If you squint real hard you might even see a Jew or a frog or two … you baguette’.
I know what you’re thinking. No, Flip/Sandi/pogo is NOT Todd Kincannon. Todd actually has a functioning brain.
I would decline the ticket.
The W.C. Fields cop out… “I would not join a club that would have me as a member.”
I thought that was Groucho.
Groucho Marx.
Mark Twain, actually.
Kimberly might be there, though.
Wrong! One of the reasons I quite the republicrat party in 1980 is neither the demoFascists nor the republicrats would have me. … I’m Black Irish.
A black Irishman….that’s even rarer than unobtanium.
“Black Irishman” in an antiquated term that refers to an Irishman with black or dark brown hair. My Irish side qualifies, apart from the (predominant) native/Indian side and the wee touch of the African, maybe. Hybrid by NDA, native by spirit. White people do not exist.
Of course they do…have you ever seen a Shag dance contest in Myrtle Beach? You can’t get more white than that.
Yeah. But that’s hybrids who may think of themselves as white. “White” is a construct. A convenience. It was invented in the late 18th Century, in Virgina, to deal with “the Indian problem.” Decreed that all who were of darker skin were “negro” or “mullatto”, and all others were “white.” That included lighter-skinned mixed bloods. By this time, due to intermarriage that began in the 16th Century over here, virtually everybody was a hybrid, a half-breed, a mutt or a mongrel. In “white” families, the daddy sometimes had one or more Indian “country wives” downriver, and was doing the black slave women or indentured servants on the DL back home.
The degree establishing “white people” was convenient too, in that most of the ruling class of VA at the time were descendents of Pocohonatas and what’s-his-hame (it’s late, gettin’ fuzzy), and were of a lighter hue. So they got to hold on the prestige of their lineage, since Pocohonas was still revered, but be classified “white.”
This spread to the other states, particularly the Southeastern ones. It was convenient for the gubmint, because they could declare all lands East of the Mississipi free of Indians. It was convenient for the slave owners, because they got to keep their darker Indian and Indian-mixed slaves, by just counting them as Mulatto or Negro. It forced free mixed race families such as those of my ancestors here in SC to assimilate. Some did so by marrying the whitest looking blue eyed blond girls they could. Pug-ugly, didn’t matter, marry her ass and start making light-skinned babies. Otherwise, risk enslavement — or later, after Emancipation, risk being branded “colored” and being on the shit end of every stick, economically and socially.
This is all real history, it’s just that we never learned it in school.
Just because society has it in firmly fixed in the collective mind that an amazingly diverse range of lighter skin types and tones are “white” (when none but albinos’ truly are) does not mean this is reality. Oh, “consensus reality” maybe. But still bullshit.
Flip is right. You are a brown eye cowboy.
A couple of thousand years ago Black Irish were dark skinned, then the Romans invaded the British Iles, bringing whiter genes, enslavement to build roads and walls, and government and taxes to pay that and for their own engrandizement
My Irish forebears actually arrived with the Norman Invasion. They were Christianized Jews from the Middle East who had migrated all over Europe for many generations before the invasion brought them to the Isles, where they settled in Galway, as one of the “13 Tribes.” Speaking of the Irish in America, when the Spanish arrived on the coast of SC, to be greeted by some of my ancestors in the 16th Century, they were soon to discover a large tribe of wild Irish folk, who went mostly naked and grew their dark hair down to their knees. They had thick, course beards, which they plucked out, hair by hair, with clamshell tweezers. TOUGH bastids, they wuz. This is according to Peter Martyr, who chronicled the explorations of the tribal lands in land they came to call Chicora. These were not my Irish people, though. Or were they? If we can believe this story, which has been somewhat verified by stones covered with Celtic runes and such dug up from that era, these people may possibly at some point have intermarried with the Indians and became part of the local DNA stew.
Some researchers say that the Irish tribesmen’s ancestors had originally been transported to the “New World” by Vikings, who declined to stick around for some reason. There was umpty gazillion Indians then, pre-plague, so they may have decided it was not a good place to try to conquer. Just as the way many natives in North America carry DNA from South American tribes that derived from Pacific Islanders originally, then got mixed with Mayan, then Creek and Cherokee, etc., it’s all far more complicated than was ever previously believed.
Now, on the issue of white people. Yeah, white people exist. If only because they believe they do. I never completely bought into being that, though, even though it was how I was raised. The native blood always called to me, and fascinated me. Had to claim it eventually. But I don’t hate “the white man”, because people who thought they were white were my ancestors, too. Hating your ancestors, no matter what they were or what they did, is stupid. Without them, we would not be here. Hate them, and we hate part of ourselves. Fuck that.
Summation: It may have taken years for one trip, but our ancestors travelled all over the damned place, and fucked like bunnies on Viagra every place they went, with whatever gave ’em a stiff one. Christian or not, the boner don’t got no church.
“… the Spanish arrived on the coast of SC, to be greeted by some of my ancestors in the 16th Century, they were soon to discover a large tribe of wild Irish folk, who went mostly naked and grew their dark hair down to their knees. …”
Then they killed ‘em … must have missed a few.
No, they pretty much gave the wild Micks a wide berth. The Indians? Oh hell yeah, them they enslaved and/or slaughtered.
Yes to that comment on the Spanish. Including the Italian dude that led a bunch of ’em. Columbus wantonly raped, tortured and murdered an ungodly number of the Tainto. The “lucky” ones only got inslaved, raped, beaten and tortured.
We honor that piece of shit serial killing mass murderer/rapist with his own day. How fucked up is that?
“… Some researchers say that the Irish tribesmen’s ancestors had originally been transported to the “New World” by Vikings, who declined to stick around for some reason. …”
This was way back when Greenland was actually green … and Nova Scotia was a good place to have a beach party.
The American Irish have a number of other old descriptors:
“shanty Irish” “lace-curtain Irish”
“Black Irish” refers specifically to the relatively unattractive dark haired Irish folk (of which I an also one).
Irish who look Welsh?
The wikipedia listing keeps cutting my non-PC edits on this. But mention any connection with the “Black Irish” and you get an oral history of the metaphysical and myth re: the Irish and Scottish fishermen of Ethiopian (or Phoenician) origin in the distant past being stuck in the Irish Sea, trapped there by weather and “climate change”.
(There is also some Black Humor, re: the relationship between the Black Irish fishermen and the Irish Sea seals. … Modern poor taste variations include references to Beatles “I Am The Walrus” … them Liverpudlians!, go figure! :>)
Don’t forget “hod-carrying” from NYCity…
… also during more than one Mexican Revolution, the Irish bomb throwers sided with the rebels against the establishment politicos. (“Duck, You Sucker” – movie)
I went to high school with a girl that was black Irish. She had long coal black hair and creamy white skin. One of the prettiest women I have ever seen. She said she was what the original Irish people looked like before they intermixed with the English and Scots. I didn’t know otherwise so I couldn’t comment. But she was beautiful.
I don’t need or want to explain my heritage to you … Look it up.
Hey, I can take Jews, blacks, Irishmen, even deagos and wops but I draw the line at Frenchman.
They have actually been uncharacteristically ballsy lately. We’ll see how long it’s gonna last.
I was thinking the same thing! Of course, the last time intense waves of nationalism swept across Europe it kept us busy for a few years…
… Is thus and ever shall be. When government and politics finds an opening, taxes
That it did. Intensely busy.
Gotta hand it to that Charlie Hebdo crew. Gigantic balls! Saying “Fuck you, we WILL make fun of whoever the hell we want to, living or dead, coz that’s FREEDOM!” And they were right. The ones that survived, same deal: “DOUBLE FUCK YOU …”
They may all be, as Imus would put it, about half a commie, but nobody can ever say they lack courage.
Again … That would be “FARC YOU” in almost exactly the same sense.
Don’t you be flaggin’ my bud’s posts … more than one can play those games.
Say what? Thought for a minute I’d flagged it accidentally. I hadn’t. Gives me the option to flag when I hover, and I think that means I didn’t do it. Why would I? Coz he misspelled Dago? Nah!
I gotta yell at someone and you are the only one literate enough to yell back … except for the “fuck you” stuff.
Try this next time: FARC You … :>)
Dagos can be Portuguese, Spanish or Italians, generally anyone from the Mediterranean. Wops (short for “with out papers”) generally only refers to Italians, specifically those who came through Ellis Island.
Some poli-wog introvert flagged y’r post. Probably not very politically correct… LOL … Keep ’em coming!
‘deago’ ?
Hey, I was passing a car on the highway as I wrote that. I corrected it this morning, someone flagged the post as inappropriate. I figured it was because of the spelling…
I thought you were talking about Don Diego. The Fox, so cunning and free … who makes the sign of the Z!
That story is entirely about the race wars between the Mexican native tribes and the Spanish interlopers. The hero, Zorro, and his Indian friends trying to throw the invaders out.
Speaking as a Black Irish champion of the underdogs … (Whenever I’m in Mexico …)
Yes, that’s exactly what Zorro was all about. Which made the Disney version of the story an interesting anomaly for its time. It went against the grain of the “cowboys and Indians” TV and movie fare of that era, in rooting for the poor, indigenous people over the conquerors. But then, it was another country. Disney had already established that Mexico was evil, through the (not entirely honest and accurate) story of Davey Crockett at the Alamo. Besides which, nobody paid much attention to such aspects of adventure stories. Another studio had made a hit of Robin Hood, and Zorro (which in an earlier serial form from different producers had influenced the creation of Batman) and the adventures of Don Diego hit many of the same notes. I loved that series, which has held up much better than Davey Crockett, in my opinion.
Very good! You are moving up in our eyes. The sad truth is that all of the American Native Tribes were treated very badly, but the Spanish Conquestidors and the Spanish Church were the most evil to the core. The best guess from historians who are not PC, the Spanish invaders of North and South America killed by sword, gun and disease about 90%, a very real genocide, a decimation of the indigenous population.
Lest we never forget: Speedy Gonzales!
Yes. They were genocidal, rapacious maniacs and thieves. And said they did it all for Jesus.
Mon Dieu. Je suis une Mamma de une familie francies. Grande pere de Calias, grande mere de Quebec. Je suis Frog.
OK, I’m not really a French Mom.
You’re a snowback or a cannuck not a frog.
In all seriousness Colonel – you might enjoy this story. So when I was finishing grad school at USC I had to test out in a language. I grew up speaking French as a little kid because I stayed with my French grand parents during the day. So I go sign up to take the test. Professor is like, you’ll never pass it, you should take the $400 class. I was like “Well, I’ll take the test, if I fail I’ll take your class.” Sign up with the secretary and I’m walking out the door and she says “Don’t forget your reference materials.” I said “what?” She says “Yeah, you know, dictionary, verb book.” So I go home, and my roommate had spent years in boarding schools in France. So I spent some evenings translating comic books. I go to take this test, they give me a 300 word article from Time in French. Takes all of 15 minutes to translate. Weeks go by, I don’t get any word so I go to Professor. “Did I pass?” “Yes, goodbye.” Never heard from him again.
Great story!
That’s a cheap shot there O-6 type.
I hauled a number of “frogs” (aviation types and Special Ops) all over the desert during Gulf I & II and I’d pay good money for you to say that to their faces.
Plus I watched some gendarmes “jack-up” some dickheads that showed their ass when I had a few days off in Paris back during the Bosnia frecas.
They made a SC Highway Patrol “trooper” look like Phil Donahue.
Talk that “Freedom fries” and “frog” shit then.
I’d serve alongside the ones I encountered in the desert any day and respect the gendarmes a whole lot more then most cops I’ve encountered here in the US.
Black Irish?
The Tea Partiers are back in town?
Just. Can’t. Resist.
“Spread the word around
Guess who’s back in town
Just spread the word around…
Friday night they’ll be dressed to kill
Down at Dino’s Bar ‘n’ Grill
The drink will flow and the blood will spill
And if the boys want to fight, you better let ’em
That jukebox in the corner blastin’ out my favorite song
The nights are getting longer, it won’t be long
Won’t be long till the summer comes
Now that the boys are here again…
One would hope …
Courson is black as well.
You must have some kind of gay Muslim fetish or something. You and GrandTango must be long lost twins or something. Creepy.
lol…FITS got you on 2nd shift and weekends now? You fuckin made a fool of the ‘socialist perverts against America’ on 1st shift.
lol… Is that some sort of witty retort?
I’ll leave you to your gayforallah porn.
Thank you for noticing.
Ewe! A gross elderly closeted queer. You and GT need a room.
Ewe max is a ‘gross elderly closeted queer’? Who would have figured?
Nope, you. You realize what ‘flip’ means, right? lol
I know what ‘DL’ means…something Boz doesn’t have. :-)
Classic case of “psychological transference ” Text book actually.
“My guess is you attend meetings promoting radical Islam and LGBT events in search of ‘young men’.”
Hello Pogo/Sandi/Guest/WTF
Gathering of the elderly Juggalos
OUT OF OFFICE REPLY:
I WILL UNAVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON:
Members of the Duke Muslim Students Association will chant a weekly call-to-prayer from the Duke Chapel bell tower beginning Friday, Jan. 16.
The chant, called the “adhan,” announces the start of the group’s jummah prayer service, which takes place in the chapel basement each Friday at 1 p.m. The service is open to the public.
I will be attending with Smirks,Boz,grandtangosuglydog and SCBluesBitch.
… and right across the park, some frat bro or sister will be bull-horning the death screams of a beheaded hostage. … Or maybe you guys can bring your favorite boom boxed version of the Star Spangled Banner or God Bless America … ;~}
Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/@36.0018343,-78.9395064,18z … Lunch? There is a Big Mac right across the street.
Maybe they can get Ted Nuggent to come and give a demonstration of how he avoided the draft?
ahhh poor flip has to post under other names..cowardly but predictable.
Look forward to the reporting from Will about the event. Wish I could attend. Caught many fish on that pier and Springmaid was just sold.
You in Ohio, Vegas or Florida this time? Or are you en route between them? Why you skippin’ MB area? Owe somebody a lot of money. Dodging child support? Got a bench warrant on you? Inquiring minds want to know about the Incredible Travelling Rainbow Family Show.
I don’t owe anybody anything Boz and never skip the MB area. Love it and we spend several weeks a year in the area.
And guess what?…I don’t have to live with my mother to eat and sleep LIKE YOU!!! LMAO!!!!
Hey Boz.I got to thinking and checked out the Horry County Judicial Index.
Anything you want to share with us William?
You’ve got to be kidding me. You gonna make an issue of a traffic fine for speeding in the previous century, another for the same in this century, and diving under non-DUI suspension, first offense, no fine — where I only served 2 hours in city jail and never went to J. Reubin?
Pathetic. You missed all the posts, I guess, where I disclosed my record from much earlier in the previous century, like from 69 to 75. All long since expunged from the record, but I told it all anyways, because none of it would about to a popcorn fart in a hurricane today anyway. That’s where the juices was, freako, if there was any to be had. And you missed it.
Something I’d like to share?
Yeah, I’d like to share with you that you are a repulsive, cowardly, sociopathic troll, and always will be.
Any politician who wants can attend a meeting, town hall get together, rally and/or convention of any Tea Party any time they want … Go ahead, show up. Go ahead and state your case … BUT don’t be surprised if your feet are not held to the flames.
Actually, the MB Tea Party group that sponsors this yearly cluster-fuck is notorious in these parts for having closed meetings, and for kicking people out of meetings merely for questioning leadership on key issues. They are a bunch of fascistic con artists.
LMAO!!! Don’t eat all the donuts and take a shower next time and they might invite you.
You calling ANYONE a ‘con artist’? Bless your heart.
That’s because that’s what the Kochs really are – fascists.
I can’t quit laughing about the “Obama overreach” bullshit. Deranged, yet funny.
Everything is overreach.
That isn’t some joke, either. Dead serious. Everything is overreach to these guys. These are the people who throughout history would bitch and moan anytime gubmint did anything new, different, or hell, even shit it has done since its inception.
These guys never consider the cost of not fixing shit. Externalities don’t real, only Free Market feels. It is why so many people from other first world countries are flabbergasted at what Murikans put up with. Read a thread about Obama suggesting mandated sick leave, European posters were amazed we don’t have this, absolutely shocked. Same with posts where Americans discuss medical costs, or unemployment rights, or college tuition, or, well, just about anything. We must look to them like China looks to us.
Careful, suggesting an improvement is dangerous overreach, creeping socialism, and freedom-hating fascist statism if you even so much as think government should have any involvement. Red scare! The pinkos are coming! Taxation is theft! Bootstraps! Benghazi!
Cliven Bundy.
So, you have seen the light! … Me? I can easily govern myself without any help from the “progressive” taxsuckers.
How about a cultural revolution? The latest one in China is almost totally anti-communist … and it worked.
So, let the purges begin!
It worked…please explain..are you saying Hong Kong is no longer under the thumb of China? Hmmmm what news do you watch? nevermind; im guessing Fox?
… but the Chinese Freedom Marchers got exactly what the were wanting: a complete and total change of local government, back to a more free market and open society with freedom of speech without fear of arrest or persecution … Them Beijing commies are now “hands off” of Hong Kong.
Everything is an overreach…unless it is a reach around.
Given that they average age is around 70, everything is overreach and all gov is bad – except for proposals to raise social security payments.
Astro turfed movement planned a decade ago co-opted by establishment goons. Doesn’t really matter how you paint it, just a bunch of gullible nuts who think they are more important than they really are.
Describes a ton of voters in SC though.
Us outsiders have been mislead? Again?
Meanwhile, Will, down at the bottom of the page, in “Around The Web”, Emily Ratjkowki is once again rubbing her big foin titties on, and apparently humping the hell out of, that same giant slice of Pizza. Damn, that is making me hungry.
Lecherous pervert much?
Irrelevant Much?
Anybody who doesn’t like Emily R. humping a giant pizza slice has lizard blood. And gives the lizard bloods a bad name.
Lots a teabaggin’ going to be goin’ on at this convention…
Fire Island and Harvey Milk, circa 1970, called. They want their nomenclature back…
Have you tired, cliché Nitwits EVER originated a thought?
Says the guy who invokes “Hitler” on an hourly basis. This TBag event is the perfect time to get that “blog” started again. U can give the attendees another lame excuse as to why you took a break from it. If not the convention, your first article could be to register your horror that Carey Rich is now on 107.5
Did he give up the blog? Why? It was doing so well and all. Or so he said.
Gaggles of GOPer gonad garglers
Louis Gohmert has wormed his way back into Boehner’s good graces and was just named chairman of an oversight subcommittee.
At this very moment Boehner’s staff is probably writing the speech that Gohmert will give at the South Carolina convention.
Come on. Nikki is not going to make a star appearance? I don’t believe that.
Trump, Santorum, Carson, Cruz…most of them Dominionist theocrats, all of them certifiable loons….typical TEA Partiers
Shi’ite disturbers, too, apparently.
which exploded on the scene in 2009 as a to the overreach of the administration of U.S. president Barack Obama. No! It exploded on the scene in 2009 in February, before Obama did anything. It was because his skin was bold and dark, like these words.
Louis Gohmert! Ben Carson! Ted Cruz! Rick Santorum! The average IQ in Myrtle Beach (which is not that high to begin with) will drop by 50 points while these tards are in town.
I take it you are a no-show?
The Tea Party is the heart and soul of what used to be the Republican Party. The people who work hard and believe others should as well. We believe in honesty, decency and freedom. These attributes have been decried as racist, homophobic, and anti every screwball idea that the left can dream up. We respect each human being for his or her character not color. We respect the flag, the Constitution, as well as our military both past and present. Right is still right and wrong is still wrong to the Tea Party, Bold colors with very few pastels . I like to call myself a TeaPartyRepublicanRightWingNut.
Well I agree with the RightWing nut part.
Thank you. When I was growing up I wads considered “conservative” but the political center has moved so far left I am now a right wing nut. I haven’t changed, everyone else has LOL
Yea, most of us gave up on segregation and beating up gays a minorities a while back. That was a pretty significant shift. Sorry you were left behind.
This will be the one place Will Folks can go out in public and get a modicum of respect . . . a gathering of white, rich, racist loons. What a pathetic loser.
