… AND JOBS ARE SCARCE

|| By FITSNEWS || Another day, another data set discounting the “rainbows and unicorns” view of the American economy …

This time it’s the Pew Research Center – which has unveiled the results of a new study showing 55 percent of Americans indicated they were “falling behind” economically.  By contrast, only six percent said their economic situation was improving.  That’s  a 9-to-1 spread, people.

Not good …

Meanwhile 37 percent of respondents said their situation was “staying even.”

As for the jobs market, 57 percent said it was “difficult to find work” while 36 percent said “plenty of jobs were available.”  Again … not a confidence-inspiring number.  But let’s be honest: It’s not a surprising number given that 92.9 million working age Americans are currently out of the labor force.

That’s a new record …

And while “Republicans” may have retaken control of the U.S. Senate, their “leadership” isn’t inspiring much confidence either …

Only 37 percent of respondents said they trusted GOP congressional leaders on economic issues – compared to 43 percent who had confidence in Democratic leaders and 49 percent who trusted Barack Obama‘s handling of the economy.

That’s a terrible showing for the GOP …

For those of you keeping score at home, Pew surveyed 1,504 American adults between January 7-11.  The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus 2.9 percent.

It must be so fucking depressing to be a republican in the SC. Daily poopy news like this, ISIS, Ebola, immigrants, shitty low paying jobs, Bengahzi, taking the guns away, gay marriage, Gamecocks football, feminazis, protesters, young brown people, common core, completely ethically bankrupt politicians, etc.
Whew, I feel a lot better.

If its that bad for Republicans, how bad is it for Democrats who take a back seat at everything to Republicans in this state.

Couldn’t tell you. Not interested in visiting that dump. We assume roads and airports have made it to the state? Any smart Democrat would use one to take them to a much better place.

The top voted comment here bub is like winning at gold medal in the Special Olympics, so I wouldn’t crow about too much if I were you.

If the “majority vote” was so great, the country wouldn’t be mired in unpayable debt and continual war.

Sometimes I think the secret GOP plan is to get the old geezers watching Fox and listening to Rush so hopped up on their propaganda that the stress and anger and fear makes them kick the bucket faster, thus resolving issues with SS funding for years to come.

Actually, being a republican in S.C. is a wonderful life. You get elected no matter what you do…as long as you say you can’t stand Obama, want to outlaw abortion, put prayer back in school and guns in every home.

You’ve got a ticket to ride in this state if you have an “R” after your name.

!- All those years the “D”s were in charge got us here.
2- The “D”s that changed to “R”s as they saw the people turning against them changed party label only. Not heart and soul. (They don’t have either.)
3- We Conservative Republicans work every day to rid our great state of the above mentioned trash.

“Don’t you want somebody to hate? Don’t you NEED somebody to hate?” You probably remember that song from the group Carolina Crapship from their album, “Entitlement Nation” on the Atwater label.
…all you have to do is wind ’em up, then point out who is to blame….over and over and over.

I don’t understand how you can say that. We all know that after Obama was elected everything was Bush’s fault, it only stands to reason that the problems we have now are the fault of the Democrats what were in charge before.

What’s that got to do with anything, 380 plus house bills setting on Reid’s desk, executive orders etc.

“The GOP did nothing”, so everything must be Obama’s fault.

I pretty much agree with this article but there is a disconnect. How can “only 37 percent of respondents said they trusted GOP” and yet they whipped the Democrats who are 6 percent higher.i guess if they don’t vote, they don’t have a say.

well in reality the dems got almost 10 million more votes than the gop this last election, However gerrymandering was very effective in 2010 and played a huge role in the elections. Simple truth is a majority of people often vote differently than election results..i.e wow they picked up 5 states but in reality those five states total population doesn’t equal some of the larger states but all of a sudden they have 5-10 more seats or house pick ups..when some states have tens of millions of people and others dont even have a million but both are equal in regards to senators and the fact we live in a republic rather than a straight democracy.

There is a map somewhere that showed the land mass won by Romney and that won by Obama. Romney won all but the North east coast and the West coast. The extremely highly populated areas of the country. Also the places with the greatest disparity of incomes. They don’t call it middle America for nothing. The Red area was where most people work, own property, and raise their children in a Christian community. Really what America should be like. I don’t realistically see a Republican doing another Reagan type win ever again. We may or may not squeeze out a win but there is just too much difference in the population zones now.

Reply
Mary January 16, 2015 at 7:01 pm

That is of course non-sense. More people live, work, and own property in the blue states than in red states, They also earn more money and pay more taxes. Most red states are taker states. And guess what, there are more Christians in New York City than there are in the entire state of South Carolina.
You are a typical uneducated red neck bigot. God help us if we are forced to live in your America.
