LESSON NO. 1 – Don’t – and DO NOT EVER – listen to the head-buried-up-their-@$$ Isolationist, unaccountable, irresponsible Liberal-Tarians…

Evil ignored only expands and seeks to conquer and steal liberal from all, especially those who have incorporated it best….

FITS and RonPaul should be FORCED to go live in an Islamic State, and run their mouths about the leaders, like they do here….If you are so he!!-bent on F*#king up our freedom, PLEASE sacrifice yours to the hateful, controlling brutal-murderers you preach to us about to defend…

“LESSON NO. 1 – Don’t – and DO NOT EVER – listen to the head-buried-up-their-@$$ Isolationist, unaccountable, irresponsible Liberal-Tarians”

Why you are at it, don’t forget about the founding fathers and their “Liberal-Tarian” propaganda (U.S. Constitution).

“Evil ignored only expands and seeks to conquer and steal liberty from all”

Like the U.S. government that is spying on us, disarming us, ever expanding, ever increasing our taxes and removing our right to free speech (via hate speech laws, etc.)? I can’t think of a better example.

I’m all for supporting our military (and not just some lip service BS or slapping a “support the troops” sticker on your truck and calling it a day: again, lip service BS) and fighting evil but you can’t ignore domestic tyranny as it is probably the greatest threat. Even a cursory view of history supports that assessment of government after government.

Don’t get me started about the same Neocons that are ALL for sending 18-19 year olds to fight for “freedom” yet completely IGNORE vets when they return and need help to get assimilated back into society. How come Neocons don’t put any REAL effort into fixing the VA or the joke of the process in dealing PTSD etc.? How come when a vet submits paperwork for PTSD he won’t even hear back from the VA months and when same vet calls for followup proactively they find out their claim is denied (unless you are literally brain-dead). How come these same Neocons don’t put any real effort into helping, very very capable young men (especially SOF) into getting real jobs?

I’ll answer why. Because sending troops to war to fight for “freedom” is profitable. Taking care of those same troops when they return is NOT profitable thus the powers that be and society will claim some lip service BS about “Supporting the troops” but their actions speak otherwise. 22 vets a day are committing suicide because of this.

Sad but true man. Wake the F up.

Without a doubt he is a “mess”
But…………..
The only thing I have thought myself is “Uncle Sugar” has a poor track record of arming people who we thought we could trust or count on and then getting our asses bit for doing so. They all seem to end up either killing us or the leaders (as we find out later) are hopelessly corrupt or end up being turncoats of one type or another..
I ain’t too crazy about trusting (or definately arming) any splinter faction in the Middle East as it stands today.

I love the logic of the fringy libertarian edges. Basically stated, “IF” Islamic extremism is on the rise (wha?) it’s because we became involved in the fight against…Islamic extremism. The Paris attacks? Easy- they were a direct result of the Iraq War (at least according to FITS). Evidently, there’s been no history of any violent extremism, jihadism, or backwards-ass cultural freeze in Muslim lands before W took office. Who knew?

As is often the case- nothing to do with my point. Their problems (and ours) started well before we knew about the wonders of petroleum. Oil issues = ~150 years. Muslim violence issues = ~1,300 years.

A small history Lesson good sir: We indirectly created Al Qaeda in the 1980s (look up Operation Cyclone) and these attacks are a direct result of our foreign Policy (ISIS/ISIL = Al Qaeda in Iraq whom would have existence put into being had Crazy Uncle Hussein remained in power).

I hear ya Abe, but reject your version of “history.” I spent years in Afghanistan and the surrounding environs (going waaay back), and can tell you that the “we created AQ” (indirectly or otherwise) dialog simply doesn’t cut it. We armed the folks, of course, but the anti-gov’t guerrilla / civil war (and to a certain extent the mujaheddin movement) against the Communist gov’t and the Russian “infidels” was organic and well underway before we were able to get too heavily involved, and as I recall they were already pretty heavily armed when we got there. Besides, there were never nearly as many US personnel as believed on the ground there; the support was largely financial / materiel. Your point on Hussein is better and closer to reality, but that’s a whole other rabbit hole there… We’ll just agree to disagree on the history lesson.

I can understand your point of view. I don’t think absolute Isolationism is a good foreign policy position given that power vacuums tend to make things worse. I’m sure CIA weren’t like “we’re going to create global terrorist movement in order to justify our operations, mwahahaha” but when we give money to bad guys to fight other bad guys the only result is that the bad guys win… which pretty much consists of almost every state in the middle east.

Foreign intervention is the classic damned if you do / damned if you don’t puzzle. It would be great if we could do the Ron paul / fringy Libertarian thing and simply wall ourselves off from the world, but most smart people understand why that won’t work. The gimmick is picking the right battles, and I wish I knew what the trick was there. You are correct in regard to the Middle East is a cesspool of crooked governments and broken culture (as are SW Asia and the arc of instability across Northern Africa)- call me when you figure out exactly what we ought to be doing there. ;-)

Never forget the Whisky Rebellion (1791) in which the newly taxed distillers went into armed revolted because of favoritism, selective taxation without representation and corruption in the g’ment(s).

“… Throughout counties in Western Pennsylvania, protesters used violence and intimidation to prevent federal officials from collecting the tax. Resistance came to a climax in July 1794, when a U.S. marshal arrived in western Pennsylvania to serve writs to distillers who had not paid the excise. The alarm was raised, and more than 500 armed men attacked the fortified home of tax inspector General John Neville. … With 13,000 [g’ment] militiamen provided by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Washington rode at the head of an army to suppress the insurgency. … The whiskey tax was repealed after Thomas Jefferson’s Republican Party, … came to power in 1801 …” – Wikipedia … (The South has been fighting those taxsucking revenuers ever since.)

Other degradations of free speech that seem to be slipping under the MSM and public radar:
* The capture and enslavement of internet blogs (like this very one) and spying and dissing of too many selected bloggers.
* The latest attempt by the FCC to over regulate, over tax and kill small internet businesses and publications with crony capitalism schemes that cater to the major networks.
* The federal court system being euthanized and otherwise hamstrung by Washington.
* … [more] …

The only attack on free speech in this country comes from the folks trying to say money is speech. Because if money is speech, the more money you have the louder your voice, those with little money are just a whisper among the screams, and those without money are mute.
