But we are “progressing” are we not? It is all very incremental, my dear FM.

“If Americans were honest with themselves they would acknowledge that the Republic is no more. We now live in a police state.”

All I had to read…and then I was finished. Poor Rand Paul. You know the ‘apple didn’t fall far from the tree’.

Shouldn’t someone tell Paul that crime and inner city violence has declined since the early nineties.

the incarceration rate has skyrocketed.

“the incarceration rate has skyrocketed.”
That works for me!!!

Sure. Until one of our loved ones goes away or is addicted to drugs. Jesus wouldn’t support a high incarceration rate for drug arrests. He would plead for compassion.

Excuse my Glib response.
The point of my first comment is Paul paints a picture of a world going to “hell in a hand basket.”
We have problems including a dangerous national debt, but I am more optimistic. His article was so long, I.got too depressed one third into it that I had to stop.
Incidentally, incarceration rates have slightly declined for the last three years. Still to high.

Fortunately “Ron Paul” was at the beginning rather than the end. Saved 15 minutes of my life.

This is the thing to bomb. This is the beginning—from “I” to “we”. If you who own the things people must have could understand this, you might preserve yourself. If you could separate causes from results, if you could know that Paine, Marx, Jefferson, Lenin were results, not causes, you might survive. But that you cannot know. For the quality of owning freezes you forever into “I”, and cuts you off forever from the “we”.
