“REPUBLICAN” PRIMARY SITUATED ON FAMILIAR FAULT LINE …
|| By FITSNEWS || It’s happening again … and there doesn’t appear to be anything anyone can do to stop it.
We’re referring, of course, to the quadrennial election of an American president – which has followed an eerily predictable pattern in 2008 and 2012. It’s gone like this: An “electable” status quo candidate with support from the left-leaning media and the “Republican” establishment gets swept to the GOP nomination – via Borg-like assimilation.
At that point, the media shifts its narrative on a dime and begins perpetuating marginal distinctions between two eerily similar ideologues – hoping to portray the big government “Republican” nominee as unfeeling or “out-of-touch” next to the bigger government Democrat.
Real choices? Those (along with real reforms) are ignored.
Anyway, the old playbook is being dusted off again in 2016 as it relates to the candidacy of Jeb Bush (story HERE) – the former Florida governor who is hoping to follow his father and his brother into the White House.
Bush, a left-of-center “Republican,” is being touted as the electable frontrunner – while everyone else (a.k.a. the libertarian-leaning, pro-free market wing of the GOP) is being told to fall in line.
Same as it ever was …
Vying to upset this apple cart? Among others, a pair of “conservative” U.S. Senators – Rand Paul (story HERE) and Ted Cruz (story HERE).
At this very early stage of the 2016 “Republican” presidential horse race, Paul and Cruz represent the top two “non-establishment” candidates vying for the GOP nomination. Both have solid pro-free market voting records, and both have staged impassioned filibusters in Washington, D.C. in recent years – Paul in protest of the war on freedom, Cruz in protest of Obamacare.
In fact those filibusters helped cement their anti-establishment status … and popularity with grassroots conservatives.
To wit: An online straw poll from The Federalist, which found overwhelming support for Cruz (26 percent) and Paul (22 percent) among those who want a pro-Constitution administration.
Bush? He received less than three percent support in this survey … while rotund “Republican” Chris Christie, the scandal-plagued governor of New Jersey, got less than one percent.
The only candidate who approached the level of support enjoyed by Cruz and Paul? Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (story HERE) – who was backed by 16 percent of respondents in The Federalist survey.
Here’s the thing, though: Assuming Paul, Cruz, Walker or some other politician emerges as the anti-McCain, errr anti-Romney, errr anti-Bush candidate … do they really stand a chance of knocking off the establishment frontrunner?
That’s a good question …
We don’t believe the current GOP nominating process will ever permit a genuinely pro-free market, pro-freedom, pro-Constitution candidate to emerge victorious. The special interests pulling the strings of the party (and the media) are simply too powerful. Also, assuming such a candidate were to win the GOP nomination somehow – the interests running the party would no doubt sit on their hands during a general election as the media demonization kicked into overdrive.
The only way we see for a pro-free market, pro-freedom, pro-Constitution candidate to win the White House is if they run as an independent … which is why we gave up on the GOP years ago.
People say we’re crazy … they say the GOP can change, and that we’re abandoning a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican party that’s worth fighting.
Our response? The GOP has neither a heart nor a soul – nor a backbone, as evidenced by its latest fiscal treachery in Washington, D.C.
Also, the GOP’s ongoing fiscal hypocrisy is accompanied by a dangerous “neoconservative” worldview and a sanctimonious social conservatism – both of which impose affirmative obligations on taxpayers and impositions on our liberty.
America’s way forward is astonishingly simple: Less government (spending, entitlements, welfare, handouts, regulation, foreign intervention, etc.) and more freedom. People get that … which is why independents out-poll Democrats and “Republicans” by double-digit margins.
It’s about time these voters were empowered with a real choice … not another red/blue false narrative.

No, because Paul, Cruz, Walker, et al will divide the right flank and the moderate, in this case Jeb Bush, will win a plurality in the key battlegrounds and thus the nomination. It always unfolds this way.
Won’t matter who Republican nominee is if they project love of God, country and law and order.Nation has turned on Democrat Party.

God covers all the things you claim as liberal above however not quite the way you seem to want to twist them politically. I voted for the great changer Obama only to find hes nothing more than a limousine liberal for convenience of the vote. Conservative, personal responsibility is not a bad idea to expect from someone living off my taxes. Twisting Jesus teachings to promote the idea anyone should be ok with busting there ass to better themselves only to be hindered by liberals desire to buy votes no matter how corrupt their constituents are is ridiculous. Im tired of the biggest obstacle I have to success in life is being a tax payer while so many just seem content riding the gravy train.

My son being born has changed everything for me …
I am for family first, I am planning to homeschool and I wish my family could be my church. Its not that I dont like other people its just that we need the family to work together and hold each other responsible. The world is out of touch with reality and yes imperialism is a problem but so is allowing evil to breed. Which of those came first is beyond me. It is however in our hands to decide the fate of our children. I dont believe laying it in Gods hands is the answer. People are to corrupt. God would expect us to act.

Yeah, Obama ensured Romney’s victory when he passed Obamacare. There’s NO WAY he’s going to lose to Obama. Nope. Not possible.
But, as they are saying in Crapville, we won the midterms. We won the midterms.
While I would like to see a Ted Cruz or Rand Paul as our candidate in 16, I don’t think either of them can make it past the mushy middle establishment types that run the party. If ALL the conservatives will unite behind one candidate with the conservative credentials plus Christian principles plus the common sense to not get too far right we can elect a good, not great, Conservative Republican. The only person I see that fulfills these requirements and is electable in Nov. is Mike Huckabee. A little too moderate for me but then so is almost everyone else, but the key here is winning while not sacrificing our core principles. If a Bush or Christe is our candidate we will have another Dim just like 08 and 12. If conservatives can sense it into moderates to at least meet us half way we might be able to make it happen, if not fiscal conservatives and religious conservatives will stay home again.

Not my first choice however WE need to unify and defeat evil in 2016. Conservatives need to understand that not voting in 2016 is a vote for ISIS, the muslim brotherhood, radical islam and the elimination of Israel…Castro, Tehran, the shredding of the Constitution, open borders for criminals and the continued erosion of parental rights and law and order in our communities.
Work hard in the primaries for your candidate and then Christian conservatives need to unite.

is one of the biggest phonies among the posse of phonies in the
Republican Party. He likes to play”Man of the People,” but is
he? He was educated in private schools and two Ivy League
universities. He was a partner in a prestigious DC law firm known
for influence-peddling. His wife is a VP at the bastion of crony
capitalism known as Goldman Sachs. Isn’t this all rather elitist –
especially for the TP elements? If Cruz is so confident in his own
skin, why does his senate website bio fail to mention private
schools, Princeton and Harvard, Cooper & Kirk, PLLC or Goldman
Sachs? Is it because he’s trying to appear to be something he isn’t?
If he has been hiding all of that, how did you find out about it? Cruz’s Wikipedia postings have all of that and more … At least He was born in North America …
Did you actually read his bio from his Senate site? It says he graduated with honors from Princeton and high honors from Harvard Law. It doesn’t name the firm, but says he was a partner in one of the largest firms in the country. He isn’t hiding anything.

It’s called poisoning the well and the right has been doing it for some time. If you successfully convince someone to not trust news sources you don’t control or don’t reflect positively for your ideas, then they will only watch what you do control or what works in your favor. You can create lifelong loyal watchers/voters that way.
