LIBERTARIAN LEADER: FREE MARKETS A “POWERFUL, POSITIVE FORCE”

By FITSNEWS || For those of you who still believe this website is “pro-Republican” or “pro-Democrat” (criticisms we still get from time to time), we’d refer you to our 2012 presidential endorsement of former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson.

(Or for that matter our 2014 S.C. gubernatorial endorsement of Steve French).

Others may be content with the increasingly worsening “lesser of two evils,” but we don’t throw our vote – or our voice – away on “bipartisanshit.”

Anyway, we bring up these endorsements because Johnson – whose fiscal record as governor of New Mexico was unimpeachable – has joined those praising U.S. president Barack Obama‘s recent reversal of America’s failed isolationist policy toward Cuba.

“While reasonable people can disagree about the negotiations that were involved, easing restrictions and opening the door to broader economic and cultural relations with Cuba is the right thing to do — and long overdue,” Johnson said in a release sent out by the Our America Initiative.

He’s right …

But as is so often the case with libertarian candidates, Johnson is not only right … he’s right for the right reasons.

While acknowledging Cuba’s current regime has done nothing to deserve any sort of reward, Johnson also points out Cuba’s people have “done nothing to deserve being locked out of the opportunities that a better relationship with the U.S. will bring.”

That’s true …

But here’s the remark that’s instructive …

“The free market is a more powerful, and certainly more positive, force for good than is a government-imposed embargo,” Johnson said.  “Congress should act to remove the barriers the President cannot remove administratively, and end the failed policy of trying to reform another nation by isolating it.”

Exactly …

As recently as this summer America was still spending money trying to overthrow Cuba – part of an outdated foreign policy that continues to bleed the public treasury while making our citizens less safe.  Common sense moves like normalizing relations with Cuba (and lifting ridiculous embargoes and travel bans) represent a small step forward in a smarter, less expensive foreign policy that will make America safer, more free and more prosperous.

My favorite part of this Cuban deal is watching all these Republicans go crazy especially Maro Rubio, who lied a few years back claiming his parents fled Castros Cuba(they actually left in 1956 three years before Castro came to power.)

Rubio gives new meaning to the term,”empty suit.”

Unfortunately, even Republicans seemingly have cast him aside as a presidential candidate.

I gave up the Stogies a few years ago. I only had one true Cuban in my life and it was pretty good. Most of the good seed stock went to other countries when growers fled Cuba so they just aren’t worth the extra dough when you can get a Dominican with the same qualities.

The embargo is the best thing to happen to the Cuban cigar industry. Once they are freely available, everyone will know there is noting about Cuban tobacco that you can’t get in half a dozen other Caribbean and Central American Countries.

This EFFING idiot prolly praises N. Korea for terrorizing the liberal racists at Sony too…just like the doltish FITS, RonPaul and Sanford…

You just LOVE isolationism unless you can bail out the Communists…then you’re like Dabo…’All In’….

Johnson is a GLOBAL Warming Nut, too isn’t he? …I always thought this was FITS’ guy, since Sanford-Joel Sawyer had his campaign in the presidential primary…

Incest is best for Good Ol’ Boys like Sanford, FITS and Sawyer….It’s why we get spineless B@$*@rds like Boehner in DC, working w/ Obama to ruin the country even more…after we rejected them….

Just watched socialist Rand Paul attack Rubio. Paul is more dangerous than Obama.

The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner
———————————————–

From my mother’s sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Mixed feelings here, Cuba is on my bucket list but Castro and company need to go. Over the last fifty years putt embargo hasn’t worked all that well. The embargo really only affected U.S.citizens. We have had all kinds of trade with Cuba throughout the embargo.

I have this sneaking suspicion that “Castro Incorporated” might have survived being segregated from the U.S.but it won’t last ten more years with open borders.

It’s not capitalism as long as the government picks the winners and losers. That’s fascism. Economic fascism begets hob-nail boot fascism. All we have done is allow the fascists to survive. As for the amount of time it’s taken, it’s important to remember that we STILL have troops in Europe.

A good economy may come to Cuba when the Marxist-Leninist Castro brothers are disposed. A freer type of governing that allows businesses to prosper in markets run by the people, not the government is an absolute necessity to get Cuba up and running, No outside pressure, either from the US or any other country has impacted the country’s economy as negatively as their own government. Thinking the US alone can drastically change Cuba’s economy for the good by lifting trade embargoes and trading freely is folly. Change the way Cuba is governed and the economy will improve.

Yep, we’re coming to build and fill the proverbial “Re-Education Camps,” or in South Carolina’s case, simply “Education Camps.”

I think there was some more news relating the Gamecocks athletic department that came out last night/today, but I can’t seem to find it on FITS?

What’s that? FITS isn’t an actual news publication?

Here you go, folks. A real news source: http://www.wyff4.com/news/wyff-news-4-at-6-december-19-2014/30325934

Or, we could take a look at your endorsement for Mark Sanford(R) in 2013, have you ever endorsed a “D”? (not “D”ick)
