AND TREACHERY ALLEGATIONS IN THE U.S. HOUSE …

rick manningBy RICK MANNING || Two big stories that impact politics in America happened this past weekend, one you likely heard about, the other you probably haven’t.

The first is the election of a Republican to a Senate seat in Louisiana on Saturday that had been held by Democrats continuously since 1888.  The win by Rep. Bill Cassidy (above) finalizes the disintegration of the Democratic Party in their once solid south.

Once the new Congress and statehouses are sworn in, with the exception of Sen. Bill Nelson in Florida, there will not be a Democrat Governor or U.S. Senator from North Carolina south, all the way west to Oklahoma.

What once was the home of the yellow dog Democrat who would rather vote for a yellow dog than vote for a Republican is now almost similarly lockstep with Republicans.  Senator Mary Landrieu’s loss — she is the daughter of former New Orleans boss Moon Landrieu — is the fourth powerful southern Democrat family that took it on the chin.

In Arkansas, Mark Pryor (David’s son) got crushed in his attempt to retain his Senate seat.  Jimmy Carter’s grandson fell short in his attempt to win his spot in the same Governor’s mansion that his family used to launch a presidency, and also in Georgia, Michelle Nunn’s daddy’s popularity didn’t translate to the ballot box for her.

When historians write about the 2014 election the dramatic evisceration to more than 125 years of Democratic rule in the South will be one of their keystone points.

Another story which you are very unlikely to be aware of is that Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas revealed to reporter Matt Boyle of Breitbart that House Leadership pulled a fast one in getting 216 Republican Members to vote for legislation by Rep. Ted Yoho that was supposed to be a statement against President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty.

Leadership made significant changes to the legislation through a normal process called a Manager’s amendment in the House Rules Committee.  The problem was that the members outside of Rules Committee were not made aware of the changes — one of which put a massive loophole for Obama to slip through into the language of the bill.  The new language provided a caveat to the condemnation and prohibition on Obama’s fiat amnesty by providing a humanitarian exception.  This is the exact kind of language that the President has used to justify a good deal of his open borders policies to date.

My Canadian Grandmother had something similar but with Drambuie, and maybe a wee bit of maple syrup, eh?

The theft of maple syrup in Canada (within the last 12 months?) was about several MILLION gallons. Look it up, it was an interesting story. I found out that Canada is the largest producer of maple syrup in the world — about 85%.

We used to call her/him NOGO POGO — because he would never, ever go away. He’s swear he was going to. Said that he was being harassed and “stalked” (like you can actually stalk a fake-named non-entity troll adept at switching IPs, etc.) He’s only pulled that one on here about 3 times, in his quise as “Sandi.” On the old SNOB, he did it dozens of times. On here now, he rarely posts as “Sandi” and has only emerged as “pogo” a couple of times in response to my pointing out his identity.

It may be that he has a truly aberrant personality, and is not really a political operative of any kind. Hell, even Grand Tango has distanced himself from this clown. How damning it that?

Buz, I used to post on the SNOB and as I recall you were continually banned from that forum and was even considered a threat not only to other bloggers (several threatened to sue you) but a couple of editors and a particular writer as well. You even mentioned the other day that TSN would not let you communicate with one particular writer apparently because of your dangerous stalking and harassing behavior.

Have a wonderful Christmas and TRY and forget about whomever ‘NOGO/POGO’ is for the holiday season. I am sure somebody in the Inlet will feed you for free and you can always walk-out on your bar tab. :-)

Buz Martin December 10, 2014 at 2:57 pm

pogo, as usual, you have it twisted around. I never “stalked” anyone. Not once. What I did was refute lies being told about me by Thomas G. Davis and his cohorts. They are the ones who stalked and threatened my family. I never even talked about theirs. The one editor with whom I had the most differences was the one that banned Tom Davis. He always said it was me, but it wasn’t. He got banned for digging up personal information, not about me, but about members of my family, and posting it to The SNOB. I actually supported having him unbanned, if he would agree to stop harassing me and to stop stalking my family in that manner.

As for the one editor (and one editor only) who banned me (once and once only), he stated to me once that he didn’t even want there to be comments, forums, etc. He was just as cranky guy. Other editors actually asked me for help with getting certain information, and I maintain a good relationship with them, and with newer members of TSN’s staff.

Hey, I even gave Todd info on which fake accounts were yours, after the switch-over to Facebook commenting. Those were promply deleted. Which is probably why you have turned against me and are no longer “stalking and harassing” Tom, Bob and Charlie, anywhere. I’m just visible, still posting here under my own name, and still exposing your bullshit every way I can. So I’ve become your target.

btw, I also advised a couple of TSN writers of GT’s fake “Emily Peterkin” account, posting to their stories. He got banned in that ID because it was fake.

Smirks December 10, 2014 at 3:09 pm

he stated to me once that he didn’t even want there to be comments, forums, etc. He was just as cranky guy.

This is the attitude of a lot of people who get the added responsibility of having to deal with comments sections for news sites. Constantly having to delete racist or abusive comments and “banning” trolls who just cycle through proxies and throwaway email addresses to get around it.

WLTX used to have a great comments section with plenty of decent folks to bicker with, then they screwed it all up. Ultimately that’s what brought me here. :

Soft Sigh from Hell December 10, 2014 at 7:47 pm

“he stated to me once that he didn’t even want there to be comments, forums, etc.”

I’ve heard an editor at The State say it too.

pogo December 10, 2014 at 9:11 pm

Okay Buz. You started this shit today.
My wife and I were PAYING customers of TSN. We have an email from Mr.Garvin at TSN that I was in ‘good standing’ after the transition to Facebook and fees. I had contacted TSN after my Facebook friend and local author Bob F. (now deceased) had told me he could not read my comments. TSN was cordial and we just decided since you had destroyed the forum/blog it was no longer worth a continuing subscription.

I have contacted TSN and attached your post today about you working for them to screen bloggers and asking them why you have apparently been hired to stalk and harass customers of TSN. I also enclosed the email between Mr.Garvin and I.

I am informed that I am no longer a ‘fake -named non-entity troll’ since you have admitted you have had communication with TSN about our former account at TSN.

Again I will ask that you end the harassment and please don’t contact any person, business or agency in regards to me or my family.

Thank you and again, Merry Christmas.

Buz Martin December 11, 2014 at 7:11 am

You spin it your way, I’ll spin it mine. I have the balls to use my real name. You don’t. Fact is, you popped up with more than one fake FB account. A couple of them using the surname “Campbell.” I reported them as being you, based on the style of the posts — which, as others here have pointed out, is unmistakable. Those accounts soon went bye-bye.

You can be “in good standing” with your paid online subscription, but all that means is that they are willing to take your money. What they allow you to post or not post under fake FB accounts is another story. Since I don’t have a fake FB account, it’s not an issue with me.

If you’re trying to get me in trouble with TSN, it’s a mighty weak attempt. I abide by their TOS. I point out known trolls and their sockpuppets. I give them news tips. I give them props in various online venues for good reporting. I have fully supported them for their appealing the wrongful verdict in the Kelly v Wren et. al. lawsuit. Etc. They have no major issues with me at this time. But flail away, troll. Flail away. For what good it will do you.

Buz Martin December 11, 2014 at 7:36 am

If you communicated all that to a Sun News editor under your real name, pogo, no wonder it was so easy for them to eliminate your sockpuppet FB accounts. Nice working with you to elimanate YOU! Jesus, man, you are a total idiot.

guest2 December 10, 2014 at 2:44 pm

oops…after reviewing my notes I forgot about that poor female reporter at TSN that used to cover the MB City Council meetings and you apparently harassed her to the point of a discussion of an RO? :-)

Buz Martin December 10, 2014 at 4:34 pm

That would be a nice try, if it were not so pathetic. Ms. Anderson was the one who was so appalled at Tom Davis’ bullshit that she brought it up at a staff meeting that TSN should ban him. All I’d ever said is that he should be held to the same standard as me. I believed that both of us should have been left alone, and NOBODY should be allowed to do what he had gotten away with so many time. Which, btw, includes death threats against not only me but others as well.

guest2 December 10, 2014 at 8:49 pm

This joke is from the 1920’s – 1930’s
————————————————
A young politician from the North sought to relocate in the South. He wrote to
a friend in South Carolina, asking him what the prospect seemed to be in
the area for “an honest young politician and Republican.”

In reply, his friend wrote, “If you are an honest politician, you will have absolutely no competition. If you are a Republican, the game laws will protect you.”

Reply
Crooner December 10, 2014 at 6:01 pm

The “Solid South” was Democratic because the whites could never forgive the Republican party for Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves. Now, of course, the whites can’t forgive the Democrats for insisting on a safety net for the least fortunate among us (which they erroneously perceive to be minorities) so they vote Republican. Same bias, different party.
