WHAT’S BEHIND FORMER VIRGINIA GOVERNOR’S CANDIDACY?
By FITSNEWS || Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore is mulling a 2016 presidential bid as a “Republican.” Wait … who?
Exactly … more on that in a moment.
“It is our duty as Republicans to make it clear that the free-market system is an ally of the people,” Gilmore told a recent GOP gathering in Chantilly, Virginia. “The growth of the United States’ economy is the only way out of the challenges we face.”
That’s true … but we’ve heard far too many “Republicans” say that and not mean it.
Gilmore was Virginia’s governor from 1998-2002. He ran for president in 2008 but dropped out very early in the race after his candidacy failed to attract financial or popular support. According to his hometown paper – The Richmond Times-Dispatch – he’s mulling a second White House bid because he doesn’t believe any of the candidates currently contemplating bids can effectively handle both the domestic economy and “the international crisis, which is very dangerous.”
“I don’t see a single candidate on the national scene that I believe could handle these challenges,” Gilmore said.
The former U.S. counterintelligence official attacked the foreign policy views of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky – claiming he supported “pullback policies” that were every bit as dangerous as those advanced by the administration of Barack Obama.
Wait … what?
Last time we checked, Obama had hitched his wagon to the warmongers … even firing his Secretary of Defense for not being sufficiently committed to the latest “thirty-year war” with radical Islam.
Also if “pullback policies” are so dangerous … perhaps Gilmore could explain why America is now purportedly facing its gravest, most well-organized, well-funded and highly motivated terror threat ever after spending $6 trillion on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?
We believe we know why Gilmore is making these presidential rumblings … stay tuned for that theory in a forthcoming post.

“stay tuned for that theory in a forthcoming post.”
You big tease!
I’ll save you the wait… Gillmore is just running interference for someone else, Just like Fred Thompson did for John McCain in 2008. That, or he is bucking for a FOX gig, maybe both.
There is also that thing about him losing a senate race 6 years ago.
By 30 points.
Another mushy middle moderate on the pile. Whooptee. !

I’ll explain. We withdrew (“pullback policy”) from Iraq too soon. If we would’ve stay with a smaller force, ISIS wouldn’t have arisen and we would not be bombing Iraq now.
You know how else we could have prevented ISIS from rising to begin with? NOT GO TO IRAQ TO BEGIN WITH. Darth Vader himself, Dick Cheaney, knew what would happen if Saddam was removed from power. He gave an in depth interview about this in 1994!!!! Bush and Co. KNEW that removing Saddam would cause a power vaccum and empower radicals in the mid east. Which is why Cheaney advised against going into Baghdad duringthe first gulf war.
