COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 7, 2014) – The South Carolina Gamecocks will face the Miami Hurricanes in the 2014 Duck Commander Independence Bowl, it was announced on Sunday. The December 27 game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 CT) from Independence Stadium (48,961) in Shreveport, La. and will be televised nationally on ABC. It will mark the Gamecocks’ 20th bowl appearance in school history.
South Carolina heads into the contest with an overall record of 6-6, including a 3-5 mark in the Southeastern Conference. Miami posted a 6-6 overall mark as well, including a 3-5 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
This is the 16th time the Gamecocks and Hurricanes have met on the gridiron, but the first since 1987 and just the third since 1960. Miami leads the all-time series, 8-5-2, and has won each of the last six meetings between the two schools. South Carolina’s last win over the Hurricanes came by an 8-0 score in 1947.
This will be South Carolina’s second trip to Shreveport and the Independence Bowl. The Gamecocks dropped a 38-31 decision to the Missouri Tigers on December 30, 2005, concluding head coach Steve Spurrier’s first season with the Gamecocks.
The Gamecocks are bowl-eligible for the 11th-consecutive year and for each of the 10 seasons under Coach Spurrier. This will mark the Gamecocks’ seventh-consecutive bowl appearance, extending their school record. South Carolina is 7-12 in bowl appearances all-time, but has won seven of its last 11 bowl games.
Coach Spurrier is 4-4 in bowl games at South Carolina, including wins in each of the last three bowl games (2012 Capital One Bowl against Nebraska, 2013 Outback Bowl versus Michigan and 2014 Capital One Bowl against Wisconsin). Coach Spurrier is 10-10 all-time as a head coach in bowl games. He lost his only previous meeting with the Hurricanes, a 37-27 setback in the 2001 Sugar Bowl.
The Gamecocks are scheduled to begin their bowl practices on Tuesday, December 16.

Six and six and headed to a bowl………yea…….
Nice non-losing season y’all have there.
Be a shame if something happens to it….
Duck Commander Independence Bowl? How fucking lame. Sounds perfect for USC.
I don’t endorse college or professional football due to the sham it has become but this tops them all
What a fucking embarrassment
Anybody who even shows up for this game is an accessory to prostitution!!!!
You can’t get much lower that this except for some worn-out gutterslut fucking a donkey in Underground New Orleans at 5 bucks a head!!!!!
Ever been to Tijuana?
Nope but I have heard some stories about what goes on there and I have read stories about what went on during sex shows in Havanna prior to the revolution.
And a guy I used to work with told me the donkey story about “Underground” New Orleans 20 years ago
There are so many “bowls” now that they’re practically meaningless. Just another way to to grab some more dollars from clueless college football fans. Most of whom never even attended nor graduated from the school they’re cheering on.
sounds like most Clempson Fans!!
You could grow a bread and pretend to be a redneck like the younger members of the Duck Dynasty fraud.
Ducks and roosters are usually found in the same barnyard.
Carolina’s D waddled around like ducks on the field all year long, so I’d say so.
Won’t be 15,000 people there. Nasty ass, dirty city. Be like playing in Loris. SC.
The USC fans should feel right at home then.
All the USC fans are worried about is if there are enough trash filled grass parking lots to have sex in.
Sex anywhere is better than sex nowhere!!!!!!!!
Is that no where or now here? :)
LOL, Especially when you can grab a Dorrito bag for a quick makeshift condom.
“Won’t be 15,000 people there. Nasty ass, dirty city. Be like playing in Loris. SC.”
“Won’t be 15,000 people there. Nasty ass, dirty city. Be like the second half of a home game.”
Fixed it for ya!
Word on the street is that 6 Cockabooses will be moved to Shreveport permanently. The owners have determined it makes sense to have them there at Sakerlina’s “home away from home.”
You can’t spell Shreveport without S-T-E-V-E.
and u cant spell NO RESPECT- 9 win season- and still in a second tier bowl- with out Clempson.
Don’t be so butthurt.
I’ll take 9 wins, a SC beat down, and trip to Orlando any day of the week over a 6-6 season and a “every body gets a trophy” trip to beautiful Shreveport.
And you know you would, too.
When you spend all day loving Cocks, you’re bound to run into a little butt hurt now and then.
Im not hurt better team won THIS YEAR. Point is yall won 9 games and still are going to a toilet level bowl.
Did you actually attend USC? Reads like it.
no eye rodes threw The University of Clemson campUS and day through a dah-plm-ah through my window!
Bud you are so dumb that you don’t know the difference between come here and sic em.

**********WHERE LIZ????????????***************************
Maybe Liz and Taylor can take a few laps with the local female roller derby team, the “Twin City Knockers” (photos, if you please)..!!
Liz and Taylor will be providing us with a running report of all activities. They will also provide us with details of their take-out picnic baskets from Columbia: wine, food, desserts, type and color of napkins and utensils, and even the type of weave on their baskets (Gullah?). Oh, and lots and lots and lots of photos! My expectancy knows no bounds……
Well put Sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only thing to add:
The wine will be served Columbia,SC style = Screw cap bottles (or “wine in a box”) from the finest that Sam’s Warehouse Cellars has to offer!!!!
Not to mention University of South Carolina sophmore “hotties” wearing the latest in cowboy boots, halter tops and short-shorts holding red Solo cups of PBR!!!
ha! ha! — you da’ man!
Have you seen the “Fantasy Football” commercial featuring the “Toga party girl” sporting a red Solo cup?
It’s priceless and so true!!!
sweet grass get it right..Love Liz
Maybe she could write a restuarant review of the Hardee’s in Shreveport or maybe a review of the local mall? She’s great at those “culture” pieces. lulz
Does Bobby Harrell have room on his plane to fly us to Shreveport for the Duck Dynasty bowl?
We need to see and be seen
Hell, I would be hiding. You have been seen, enough, this year.
I ain’t going unless I get to meet Cy.
