“LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED …”
By FITSNEWS || Since the lesser minds of the liberal legacy media have failed to quarantine the scandal surrounding Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber, America’s ivory tower elites have descended from on high to try their collective hand at crisis management.
And yes, they should probably stick to their day jobs (inflating America’s student loan bubble with loads of left-leaning hot air).
Gruber, of course, is the liberal economist who has admitted manipulating Obamacare’s budget numbers and relying on the “stupidity of the U.S. voter” to get the law passed – all while getting paid hundreds of thousands of tax dollars via the administration of Barack Obama (who Gruber says was in on the scheming).
The whole thing has become a major headache for Obama … who was already reeling from record low approval ratings and a midterm electoral beat down suffered by his Democratic party. Obama himself is handling the scandal poorly, too – attempting to distance himself from a guy he previously praised as one of the “brightest minds” in the country.
Two U.S. colleges have taken Obama’s efforts to downplay Gruber to the extreme, though.
From a post by National Review Online’s Brendan Bordelon …
… at least two colleges who hosted the professor have tried to scrub Gruber from the internet. The University of Pennsylvania removed Gruber’s October 2013 panel appearance — in which he laughed about “the stupidity of the American voter” — on November 10, but quickly reposted the video after withering criticism.
On Monday the University of Rhode Island took a page out of Penn’s book, removing a 2012 discussion where Gruber explains how the law was passed to “exploit” the American voters’ “lack of economic understanding.” URI offered no explanation on its webpage as to why the video was pulled.
Nice …
As much as we’d love to see this stain of a human being wiped off the map, Gruber’s contempt for the country that paid him all that money is highly instructive. It’s a peek into the true motivations of the far left – whose leaders like to pose as a middle class champions and heroes of black Americans (when in reality, as those last two hyperlinks demonstrate, they’re anything but).
In addition to being the guy who called America stupid, Gruber is also at the center of the looming U.S. Supreme Court case over the Obamacare’s legal reach. Specifically, he’s the guy who most clearly expressed the damning intention of the law’s exchanges – which were rejected by the vast majority of states.
Obamacare was specifically written with the goal of bribing states into creating their own exchanges … but after thirty-six of them failed to do so, Obama’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) decided to implement the tax and spending provisions of the law as if they had (in direct contravention of the letter and spirit of the statute).

Keep plucking that chicken!
That chicken, sure been scratching a lot of chicken shit.
You know, the reason the Dems keep making fun of Benghazi & now Gruber is not because there’s something to actually make fun of, it’s because they know the substance of the issue(s) are valid and there’s no other way to get rid of them other than attacking those bringing them up as “silly”, stupid, etc.

mediamatters.org…is as far left as Fox is right.
But it was still just a internet video, right before the election I might add, kinda like…”If you like your plan you can keep your plan, period”.
Well played!
I stand by the Gruber assessment regardless. Lots of YT videos out there now.
That article photo says a lot … Never trust a Grubered up g’ment helot with his right hand in the air … He’s just trying to see which way the wind is blowing.
“lack of economic understanding.”
There are both artful and in-artful ways of making the statement above. However, it is not an inaccurate statement by any stretch of the imagination.
In a business career of 40 years, I can recall only one instance when an employee came to me and related how much his office visit or hospital visit cost in total dollars. They only recount the “out of pocket” co-pay. It’s as though the rest of the costs are “Santa Claus” or “Easter Bunny” money. And under the current system, it essentially is.
Any system in which the end user has no clue or no connectivity to the ultimate cost is wasteful inefficient. For those who complain about Obamacare or “single payer” coverage, welcome to our current private system.

Wait, Snowden’s a hero and this guy is a “stain of a human being”?!?
One confessed information that proved your President is the fraud we already knew him to be and the other nearly irreparably damaged our intelligence gathering capabilities. (The only thing that keeps either from being a completely worthless human beings is that they can serve as a bad example).
You missed the point; what Gruber admitted was reprehensible, not illegal.
Much of what Snowden released shows a willful disregard towards the Constitution by the government, and the gov’t isn’t going to be prosecuting itself anytime soon.
No, I got the point exactly. Fit’s thinks that Snowden is a hero and this guy is a “stain of a human being” – I don’t get his (Will’s) sense of honor or integrity.
No, actually, what Gruber admitted to was indeed illegal by any definition of fraud.
It is prosecutable regarding his compensation by federal and state governments to the sum of the millions considering he was under contract.
And should he be brought in court to testify regarding what is now known about Obamacare, if he is to deny what is already happening, and in lieu of what he has knowingly said on tape, he’ll be jailed.
Get a clue.
“he’ll be jailed.
Get a clue.”
I wish we were friends that could make a bet over micro brew, cause you’d be buying my drinks all night long.
Let’s remember this moment when you declared Gruber will be jailed and check back here in three months to see who had a clue.
Be nice! Terry is new here, so make him feel welcome.
Still cannot understand why he would want to leave the comfort of Breitbart and Twitchy to play in this sandbox.
Krugman explains it all for you. For those too cheap to subscribe, a nugget:
“It’s important to be clear what this does NOT mean — it doesn’t mean that there is a huge hidden burden on the public. For the most part, people buying health insurance would have bought it anyway. Under single-payer, they would have stopped doing that, and paid taxes instead; under the ACA, they continue to pay premiums but don’t pay the extra taxes. There’s no secret extra cost.
“So, why was Obamacare set up this way? It’s mainly about politics, but nothing that should shock you. Partly it was about getting buy-in from the insurance industry; a switch to single payer would have destroyed a powerful industry, and realistically that wasn’t going to happen. Partly it was about leaving most people unaffected: employment-based coverage, which was the great bulk of private insurance, remained pretty much as it was. This made sense: even if single-payer would have been better than what people already had, it would have been very hard to sell them on such a big change. And yes, avoiding a huge increase in on-budget spending was a consideration, but not central.”
Maybe Gruber was rude to call the American public “stupid” but he would have been on the money to call them ignorant when it came to the politics of passing the ACA.
Even though Krugman is way off economically at times, he had another correct viewpoint on Obamacare:
“The mind reels. How is it possible for anyone who has been following politics and, presumably, policy for the past six years not to know that Obamacare is, in all important respects, identical to Romneycare? It has the same three key provisions — nondiscrimination by insurers, a mandate for individuals, and subsidies to make the mandate workable. It was developed by the same people. I and many others have frequently referred to ObamaRomneycare.”
Once again showing why it’s pure fantasyland to think the Republicans are significantly different from Dems or that they are going to substantially repeal the ACA.
So even Krugman finds an acorn of truth now and then.
To be fair, Romney only signed “Romneycare” because a Democratic supermajority in the Massachusetts legislature left him no choice.
Massachusetts Republicans probably hated “Romneycare” as much as Congressional Republicans hate “Obamacare.”
Well, maybe not, since Mitt was of their tribe.
Romney… Too stupid to see that HelleryCare, Mass. democrat RomneyCare, ObamaCare, … are all g’ment plans to increase taxes and capture control of public choices.
Well, no Republicans voted for ACA, it must be Democrats that are ignorant.
Interesting that the photo presents Herr Gruber as a “dick head”…..
Bet Obama’s happy, he doesn’t have to veto Keystone.
Remember how Bobby Harrell acted when everyone knew he was guilty? What’s the difference here with Obama? … Yeah …. Never heard of Gruber … who is he? … When accused of criminal conduct …. Does anyone really think Obama is going to confess to felony conduct? Pfft!
The mask has dropped at academia and the Mainstream Media.
It’s no longer a question of whether they’re trying to cover up everything regarding the puncture wounds of Obamacare, it’s a question of how much they’ve destroyed that we don’t know about.
I recently saw that The New Republic has been furiously deleting articles dealing with Gruber, including its article of his analysis of ACA premiums that were part of his Senate briefings.
Fortunately, I got a copy of it before they deleted it.
That’s just one of the more obscure articles they deleted in which they used his analysis (the link in the article goes to a 404 dead end now) to browbeat opponents of Obamacare while it was being debated in 2009. Some of the other more visible articles on TNR are still up, probably because they have external links and it would look bad (same with U Penn getting embarrassed), but again I don’t know how much they’ve destroyed; obviously I haven’t copied their WHOLE ARCHIVE!
It really is Orwellian.and demonstrates the depths of deceit – and the fact that they know they’re guilty as sin.
4 tarnished brands: the Professor, the Press, The President, Politicians who passed this bill. Argue and explain as you wish, these brands have now taken a serious hit.
