ALSO … MICHAEL HALEY GETS A SWORD AFTER KISSING SIKH LEADER’S FEET

By FITSNEWS || “The soul of Nikki Haley” is reported to have “cried out” during her visit to the most sacred site in Sikhism – the religion South Carolina’s governor abandoned for Christianity as she climbed the political ladder in the socially conservative Palmetto State.

According to The Daily Sikh , Haley became “overwhelmed and emotional” upon her visit to Harmandar Sahib – where all Sikhs come to “pay obeisance.”

For Sikhs, paying obeisance involves making a pilgrimage to the sanctum sanctorum of the Harmandar Sahib – a.k.a. the “Golden Temple.” Before paying obeisance in the temple, however, devotees must take a holy dip in the water pond of Temple at the marbled periphery – with the understanding that this holy dip washes away “all their bad deeds of previous births.”

A video taken after the visit shows the governor – decked out in ceremonial Sikh garb and wearing a “Bindi” – breaking into tears at a press conference following her visit.

“I don’t know if I want to do pictures – this has been an emotional and very special day for both of us,” Haley says in the clip. “What I want everyone to know is that we are here to give our respects.  I am not here as governor.  I am here as someone who feels honored and emotional to be here.  It is a very special day.”

In a matter of moments, though, Haley had composed herself sufficiently to discuss her visit.

“It took me forty years but it was worth the wait,” she said.

Haley is in India for a ten-day “economic development” visit.

Here’s the clip of Haley and her husband, Michael Haley, following their visit to the temple …

According to Haley, she grew up as a practicing Sikh but converted to the Christian faith when she married her husband Michael in 1996.  As recently as 2011 she claimed to visit the local Sikh Temple occasionally – purely out of respect for her parents.

In April 2010, Haley’s website addressed her faith as follows:

Question: Is Nikki a Christian?

Truth: Nikki is a Christian. In her words: ‘I believe in the power and grace of Almighty God. I know, and have truly experienced, that with Him all things are possible. I have looked to Him for leadership throughout my career and will continue to do so as governor.”

In June 2010, however, the wording on the website was changed to reflect a much stronger pro-Christian position.

Question: Is Nikki a Christian?

Truth: In Nikki’s words: “My faith in Christ has a profound impact on my daily life and I look to Him for guidance with every decision I make. God has blessed my family in so many ways and my faith in the Lord gives me great strength on a daily basis. Being a Christian is not about words, but about living for Christ every day.”

Haley’s “conversion” has been openly mocked by Das Racist, a Brooklyn-based hip hop group with Sikh roots.

After her election in 2010, many Punjabis urged Haley to come to her parents’ homeland as soon as possible in order to “pay obeisance” at the holy Sikh temple.  Haley waited until after her reelection to make the trip, though.

The Haleys visit wasn’t without controversy, though.  A member of the Sikh clergy riled his contemporaries by presenting Haley’s husband with his “siri sahib” – a ceremonial sword carried by Sikh males.  The clergyman handed Michael Haley his sword after the First Couple knelt and kissed his feet.

“It is wrong and violation of maryada,” another priest said, referring to Sikh law.

How about all the bad things she has done in this life, especially since being crowned as Governor of SC? Can she take a few more dips and at least make a dent in those?

Reply

I never cared that she may have been a Sikh, spiritually. In fact, I would have more respect for her had she remained a practicing Sikh, rather than doing as everyone else does, claiming to be a devout Christian for political expediency. I wonder if there are any Sheriffs to be found in SC who are not members of the First Baptist Church in their county seats. That’s a good way to get a few hundred guaranteed votes right off the bat, and they play that hand for all it is worth.

However, atheist might be lying to themselves.

Would you rather have a person who doesn’t believe there is a God who says so, or someone who believes “there’s something out there,” but doesn’t really believe he has to ever pay for evil deeds – but tells you he believes Jesus rose from the dead?

Which is more dangerous, and which is more prevalent?

Are more Republicans who say they are fundamentalist, born again Christians, hypocrites, or liberals who say they believe in a loving God, or none at all?

If your faith is in a God of rewards, punishments and forgiveness only, then it is worthless. Even Satan believes in that.

Matthew 22:36-40
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

If you love God, you will not make a practice of sin.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (there are plenty of hypocrites)

euwe max November 17, 2014 at 9:30 pm

You do realize Jesus said there was a special hell for hypocrites. It’s worse to profess and mislead than not to profess at all. At least there’s a chance for you then.

How many who profess are “Christians?” .. and how many are what Jesus spent Matthew 23 condemning?

Lots of Christian bow down to false God’s all the time, for example:

The false god of democracy
The false god of money
The false god of patriotism
The false god of war
The false god of socialism

The proverbial list goes on forever…alas…each and every Christian is a hypocrite to some degree.

Mary November 17, 2014 at 2:14 pm

You haven’t a clue what you are talking about. These are not gods, they are philosophies and things. You will not find any devout Christian physically bowing down and worshiping any of those philosophies and things.

Christ is not of this world he is of the next. Christians hold many political beliefs. None of which necessarily conflict with their Christian beliefs.

As for war and money, No Christian worships war. No Christian worships money. Do they let their lust for war and their love of money interfere with their duties to Christ and man. I think clearly yes. That is also sin. But no one is without sin. God can forgive sin.

Nonetheless, bowing down before another false god, kissing the feet of a priest of a false god is a particularly egregious sin. A sin that thousands of Christians refused to commit even as they faced a penalty of death for their defiance. I think you would be hard pressed to find a devout Christian who does not understand that and who would bow before another god, regardless of the circumstances.

“You haven’t a clue what you are talking about. These are not gods, they are philosophies and things.”-Mary

“No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”-Luke 16:13

?You can’t worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you’ll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can’t worship God and Money both.”-Matthew 6:24

Another Christian that doesn’t know the Bible. Why am I not surprised?

Mary November 17, 2014 at 6:16 pm

I feel I am well versed in the Bible. I am well aware of the teaching of Christ on wealth and root of all evil. However we are addressing two different things. There is a difference between physical actual worship and metaphorical worship, in that you love something so much it interferes with your duties to god and man.
It is always a sin to physically worship another god. In fact is a violation of the 2nd Commandment. It is not a sin to believe in Democracy. It is not a sin to believe in Socialism. It is not a sin to believe in Capitalism. It is not a sin to believe in a Monarchy. It is not a sin to have money. There are even those who argue making war is not necessarily a sin. It is a sin if you elevate these things above you obligations to god and man.
That said you will get no argument from me that most conservatives are like the rich man in Luke 18: 18-25. Unable to part with their wealth for the good of others, even when Christ tells them it will make it difficult for them to get into heaven. Better to be rich with a chance of salvation than poor with the certainty of salvation, so to speak.
That said, I don’t really see how any of your comments are relevant to this debate.

I actually feel sorry for her. It’s like your man being the guy who scored one TD in high school, and he cannot get passed that glory, that becomes more and more spectacular with time.
He never realizes it was not that much of a big deal…and everybody knows he is lying…

Mary November 17, 2014 at 2:07 pm

So explain how my use of the 2nd Commandment is not appropriate here. We have pictures of the Haley participating in a pagan religious ritual. She and her husband bowed down to and kissed the feet of the priest of false god. I can think of no way that does not violate the 2nd Commandment. I can think of no way that is not disrespectful of the thousands of real Christian who were killed for refusing to do the same thing.

You and FITS in your self righteous piety should d@#n her to H#!! then. Why do care what I say. You and FITS are judge jury and executioner.

Mary November 17, 2014 at 2:37 pm

Christ alone will decide her ultimate fate. I certainly judge less than you. You see no problem of constantly accusing those whom you hate because of their political beliefs of evil and sin, with little or no proof. You clearly have no problem assuming the roll of judge, jury and executioner when you hate the person you are attacking. I hate no one. But I feel perfectly comfortable in pointing out that these actions are the most egregious of sins under any interpretation of Christianity. I also have no problem pointing out that you refusal to acknowledge this is pure hypocrisy. It is putting your political motives ahead of your Christian beliefs.

God never said its ok to bow down to false gods if you cross your fingers.

guest November 17, 2014 at 2:49 pm

You miss the point. Obama is a ‘closet’ muslim that seeks to advance the cause of the muslim brotherhood, ISIS and radical islam thru his POLICIES. He can say he is a Christian but nobody believes it because of his POLICIES.

Haley professes to be a Christian-I believe her because of her POLICIES. She is pro-life and does not support legalized perverted marriage.

You liberal femi-nazi’s want us out of your ‘womb’ so you can kill your own children-gays want us out of their bedroom so they can be perverts- yet want to tell us how to worship as a Christian’s ?

Mary November 17, 2014 at 3:04 pm

Once again a pseudo christian, judges me, with absolutely no information about me. Once again a pseudo christian shows he knows nothing about Christianity. Christ hates Muslims but loves Sikhs??

If you believe Hailey is a Christian, then I defy you to walk into any Church in whatever city you live in on Sunday morning and ask how many would be willing to worship a false god and bow down before and kiss the feet of the priest of a false god. Ask how many would be willing to die before they would be willing to do so. I guess only then will fake Christians like you and Hailey understand the significance of this transgression.

guest November 17, 2014 at 3:23 pm

Will has built a ‘shrine’ called Fits that worships Nikki?
Is this a transgression? :-)

GrandTango November 17, 2014 at 3:03 pm

What about Obama lying to Americans, and doing it on purpose? What about the corruption of the media? What about FITS telling us he’d produce evidence, but he lied? …What about him claiming to (at one time) be right-leaning, when that was a total lie? He rose in status w/ the Republican party, that he hates. How honest is that?

You bow to idols, and worship false gods. You cannot prove one accusation that you make toward me. It’s just empty cliché that equates my thirst for justice and truth to hate.

It’s stupidity and simple-mindedness on your part. It’s why the corrupt can manipulate fools into feeding their greed, and fueling their power. You pervert right…because like any dolt, you have no idea of who – and what – you are….

Mary November 17, 2014 at 3:11 pm

We are not discussing Obama, and you know nothing about me, or my beliefs. If you have evidence of greed or worship of false gods on my behalf, I suggest you produce it. We are discussing Hailey. But you know that. You can’t defend the indefensible, so you change the subject. You can lie to the public, but you can’t lie to yourself and you can’t lie to God.

GrandTango November 17, 2014 at 3:25 pm

I’m just saying, I’m not inclined to put much stock in the judgment of Haley’s soul from Christian-hating bigots like you and FITS, who overlook overt, and intended liars, crooks and degenerates, like Obama, Sanford and the soulless Democrat Party…

And you DO care what I think so much, because you KNOW I know all about your beliefs. I know who you are because you boldly represent yourself as a leftwing sycophant who sells out for very dirty people.

You’re either pretty stupid or sinister. Either way, it strips any credibility from your proclamations against Haley, and your judgment against her.

Mary November 17, 2014 at 4:39 pm

Really, and just what makes me a left wing sycophant in your “judgment”? Which of my beliefs do you judge make me a Christian hater?

I have political views, and I have religious beliefs. I think my political views are fully supported by my religious beliefs. But once again change the subject. Don’t try to defend the indefensible.

GrandTango November 17, 2014 at 5:06 pm

Mary November 17, 2014 at 6:23 pm

I would not voluntarily worship another god to show respect for anyone or any country That was the act that was indefensible. This has nothing to do with showing respect for India. India has a 1000 religions. Sikh is only one. Your argument is total BS.
Further she is not damned to hell. She can ask for forgiveness. God can forgive all sin. Even one this egregious. . That said I doubt she will, because I think she is a fake Christian. I think she remains a Sikh, disguised as a Christian for political reasons..

Tom November 17, 2014 at 6:32 pm

GrandTango November 17, 2014 at 7:23 pm

“Thou shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. FITS, what a following you have! You cannot leave Nikki alone even in moments of worshiping whatever she finds comfort in? Most posts, by liberals, no doubt are just humanly despicable. But, they are that way daily in whatever you might blog. I guess they have no life they can speak of or boast about, so they find comfort in bashing our Governess and others as FITS does quit often but you, FITS, are all about greedy “bucks”. And, may God bless your soul for choosing this sort of “honorable” occupation with the ilk that takes pleasure in negatively addressing whatever you blog.

Luke 14:26King James Version (KJV)

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Sikhs disagree with Christians who believe that Jesus is God. According to Sikhism, Jesus or any other person who took birth in this world is not God. Sikhism has a clear description of God. “God is One. He is the Supreme Truth. He the Creator, is without fear and without hate. He is immortal. He is neither born and nor does He die. By Guru’s grace shall He be met. Chant And Meditate on His Name. In the beginning, He was the Truth. Throughout the ages, He has been the Truth. He is the Truth now and He shall be the Truth forever” (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 1). “He has no form, no shape, no color; God is beyond these three qualities. One understands Him, O Nanak, with whom God is pleased” (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 283).

Sikhs deny the reality of man’s sinful nature. They teach that people are essentially good;

“You should ask him why he honored Haley’s husband with his siri sahib which he had held in his capacity of granthi of Golden Temple. It is wrong and violation of maryada,” said Giani Gurbachan Singh. He is the Jathedar of Akal Takht, one of the highest Sikh leaders.

Head granthi of the Golden Temple, Giani Jagtar Singh said, “It would have been better had he given some other sword to Haley instead the one which is given to a granthi as an honour.” He said he would raise the issue with SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar so he could give a message to all.

Gee. I never thought I’d see Nikki like this (in the video). It’s moving, really. I’m glad we got to see her paying homage to her birth religion and I’m glad she let us see it. Of course, it’s AFTER the election, but still. We in the U.S. need to be exposed a lot more to the beliefs and traditions of folks abroad. It would help us be less angry and less warlike and…who knows?…we might become happier!

Nikki Haley = #winning
• like Charlie sheen is winning
• when she tries to get the slot as vice presidential nominee / will this bite her on her lovely derrière?!
• what does nikki Haley have to say about the millions of aborted girl children in her native India
• as a matter of fact there is a one in two chance were she “born” in India she might not have made it to 9 months
• I’ve known families who’ve adopted little Indian girls. They weren’t impressed with the India way of taking care of kids
• soooo nikki Haley — maybe just worry about the poor dullards who elected you twice.
• in summation your honor. Maybe bobby Harrell is singing like a bird.
About nikki Haley. One can only hope.

Since when is that “hip-hop” group rooted in Sikhism? Not a single member is of Sikh descent. Maybe Hindu, but not Sikh or Muslim. Another misguided attempt at discrediting someone who has a different cultural upbringing than the xenophobic left who loves to project a monopoly on inclusion.
