FORMER U.S. SENATOR RETURNS TO PALMETTO STATE
By FITSNEWS || Former U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint – president of the Washington, D.C.-based Heritage Foundation think tank – will return to his old congressional district next week for a panel discussion featuring U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan and others.
The so-called Vision SC conference will be held from 11:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. EST at the Westin Poinsett in downtown Greenville, S.C. on Monday, November 17, 2014. Tickets are $50 – which includes lunch.
For event details and registration information, CLICK HERE.
The Vision SC conference is a production of DeMint’s South Carolina-based think tank, the Palmetto Policy Forum. In addition to DeMint and Duncan, it will also feature Heritage Foundation chief economist Steve Moore and public education reform advocate Kevin Chavous.
DeMint resigned his seat in the U.S. Senate in 2012 to become president of the Heritage Foundation. He was first elected to the Senate in 2004 – and reelected in 2010. Prior to that, he served three terms in the U.S. House representing South Carolina’s fourth congressional district (which includes Greenville).
S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley appointed then-U.S. Rep. Tim Scott to fill DeMint’s seat, and last week Scott won a special election to claim the final two years on DeMint’s second term. He has said he will run for a full six-year term of his own in 2016.

For $50 they should include a lap dance and a bump of coke.
Lap dances only if Haley is in attendance.
I’m going to attend and shove food in my sports jacket pockets and wipe my mouth with my sleeves.
That you, Strom?
No…Joe Biden…crashing another party…with new and improved corn-husk-coloured hair plugs…
Sit down and stfu, freak.
It took you a lot of effort to hack my account. What the fuck is your problem?
I left out that I lust for DeMints liquid babies.

ah yes dear me….. That Heritage group! I know….lets host a panel on a work day when most of our minions (crazy ass Greenville Tea Baggers) are working as IT Techs at Best Buy!!!
Jim appears to have spent a mint on that mouth.
Of course, he always had a penchant for $1000 suits. He was the best dressed man in the Senate. And, his voters never wondered where he got the money.
You’re fucked up.
The word ‘Think’ does not belong in the same sentence with ‘Jim DeMint’
Ask Gruber how dumb he thinks Americans are…
Ask him to do a case study, starting in South Carolina.
I agree. How fuckin dumb can you be to spend $4 MILLION $$$$’s of your own money to run for governor, quit a week before the election and receive 0.92% of the vote.
Even Corky Thacher has thoughts.
“I like cookies.”
“I just pooped in my pants”
It’s not called a “smart think tank”.
You hate him because he is a Christian.
Let me guess…
One of the major points of conversation will be how much of a Tax Cut millionaires should get.You know,so they will have more money to “invest” and “create” jobs
Or
Maybe
Just put in their pocket?
Not “Think Tank.” “Stink Stank” is a better description.
One implies intelligent thought. The other, just a nasty smell.
Jimmie’De’Minted abandoned supporters like a cheep wh@re at a shotgun wedding who claimed “true religion” and didn’t really wanna marry that redneck in the first place.
Kind’a like TRav when Baby Mommy dumped his slimmy pumpkin arse. Everyone knew from the beginning T’Rav would dump Baby Momma. But, Momma beat him to it.
Family Court will take care of business. He will pay thought his old age testosterone injections for his little baby. Our Funding Editor says bless the baby and the Momma.
Then she puked her third Metamucil and Black Jack into her panty hose, and said we should call T’Rav to clean it up.
The way I see it….like him or not….he is no longer a dirty politician. Maybe he’s dirty, but at least he’s not automatically so (i.e. politician—“R” or “D”).
Is it possible for a regular person to get into the bandwagon to make lot’s of money off others for nothing ?
Was Sarah Palin his inspiration for bailing out before his term was up?
These “conservatives” get rich of the “movement” and no one seems to notice.
I notice that over the past six years of Democrat policies, the richy rich billionaires have gotten richer, and the Middle Class and the poor have gotten poorer…it’s a sad fact, jack!
Wonder if he will detail how Greenville got all of the $billion New market tax credits for SC over the past 13 years and gave a few crumbs to the rest of the state……..and I doubt he will mention the 23 percent cut his consulting firm pocketed. I am sure his message will more likely rail about the evils of government stimulus money………………double dog dare FITs to bring any of this to light!
Would you explain the “23% cut” comment. I would like tho know more.
thanks
Michael…glad you asked…….23% covered in the end of this post.
FITS still crickets!
Greenville has been at the head of the line for nearly $1
billion in New Market Tax Credits since 2003.
Many of the following projects had Former Sen Jim DeMint standing in front to tout his help in getting government NMTCs (wait a minute, no word of NMTCs mentioned by him)……..in fact he joins Heritage and holds seminars like the one advertised here to rail against government handouts and spending.
To list a few (the list is way longer) of Greenville’s NMTC
projects……..Children’s Museum of the Upstate in 2008 and the Peace Center renovation in 2011. In fact, NMTCs have been used in most every project along Main Street, the law firm of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., headquarters for CertusBank, and retail space, including Anthrolopologie. Project ONE will also be the first LEED Silver building in downtown Greenville. Tax credits were
used for the Courtyard Marriott Hotel and office building called Main @ Broad, the Next Innovation Center, the McBee shopping center and RiverWalk, the apartment and office building.
In Spartanburg, the program financed the South Church Plaza,
the parking deck for the University of South Carolina Upstate’s graduate business school, the home of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, downtown airport renovation and the Wofford College Village of shops and dorms.
Really, HSB and Certus bank?????The Courtyard???
An eager beaver young lawyer from upstate while trying to
impress, let it slip that one of Sen DeMints consulting firms helps keep
projects on track………….here are some of the numbers from a potential SC project.
Typical New Market Tax Credit project,
Qualified Equity Investment (QEI) $ 6,143,214
Tax Credit Earned 39% of QEI $ 2,395,854
Gross Proceeds from Investor 70% 1,677,097
Less: Cost of Transaction 1,092,889 (Breakdown below)
NMTC Transaction Cost
Legal $ 288,639
Consulting Firm $251,364 (23%)
CDE Allocation Fee 4% 245,729
CDE AMF 5% 307,161
Total NMTC Transaction Costs $ 1,092,889
Just looking at him, you’d never figure him to be the type of guy that would start a recession.
I do not know where I will be on November 17th from 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM but I sure as hell know where I won’t be!
Well good for you. Bet you will be where you are everyday between 11:00AM and 4:30PM. Right here you freak.
I hate him because he ran out on the people who elected him and were depending on him. Oh, yeah, he’s a (deleted) too.
Note to DeMint:
quit dyeing your hair
You (just like your departed buddy Ronnie Reagan) ain’t fooling anyone
Oh and yeah everybody knows you whored yourself out!!!
