Eventually, all the states will legalize. It’s just sad that so many who could benefit from cannabis oil and THC have to move to get help – either that or get arrested like the woman who was arrested for providing her son with medical cannabis she had gotten in Colorado. It helped him to lead a normal life. Now the poor kid has to go back to a horrible, painful existence. People who are against it need to do some research and not give in to fear!

I used to think the same thing but after observing SC politics for the last 5+ years, I would tend to disagree. When the good ol’ boy system smells money, they will justify the cause and the means. Medicinal is just the first step to get the population comfortable with the position and then it’s off to the tax races to legalize recreational use.

I’ve got a good friend, almost 70, who’s had a dozen surgeries on his eyes for cataracts and macular degeneration. First operation when he was in his 20s. He smoked dope for relief of the ferocious pain in his eyes — that he says is akin to a migraine headache that never ends. He’s terrified that he’ll get ‘busted’ by the sheriff or whoever and go to jail. Hasn’t smoked in several years for this fear. Poor bastard.

Do your homework. Weed is much worse than alcohol; the half life is much longer; it can have permanent brain changes; and takes away ambition. Using the “medical marijuana” excuse is lame – there is a plethora of legal drugs to help with the very small number of people who say weed helps their medical condition. Let’s be totally honest – THIS IS ABOUT LEGALIZING WEED FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES. It DOES infringe on others rights because us sober folks will have to deal with even more addicts since it will be more accessible; There will be more lung diseases, duh; and the young people I’m counting on to take care of me in the nursing home and manage my retirement accounts will have mush for brains! And as long as we’re legalizing weed, why not legalize all the other illegal drugs? Hell, go ahead and legalize all the prescription drugs too while we’re at it – why bother getting a doctor’s script – give the right to ordinary people to decide what drugs to take and when.
YOU do your homework! Why enrich Big Pharma’s pockets with big bucks when we can grow our own medicine? Also, it does not have to be smoked. Also, hemp oil does not contain THC, so does not get one high. It can also be vaporized. etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum. Of course, I’m sure you’d take it synthesized by Big Pharma. I’m with FITs – Save money by legalizing all drugs. Use the money saved for drug education and rehabilitation.
I HAVE done my homework. And when you decide to do YOUR homework, be careful because many “scientific studies” are biased, inaccurate or simply have too small of a sample size (refer back to your college class Probability and Statistics). And if you’re against Big Pharma now, just wait until they demand the market on marijuana!

Why would they want something on the market that cures? They would go out of business. I did read not too long ago of a Pharma co. that had patented some components of cannabis, although I don’t know how they could since the US gov’t (while saying it has no medical applications) holds patents on the medical properties of cannabis.

I encourage you to watch the documentary “The Culture High” which provides all perspectives on pot legalization and has won a number of international awards.
I’m very pro-pot to be clear. I have a number of friends and many family members who do not support a pro-pot agenda. A number of them have watched this documentary and changed their position. It’s an eye-opener regardless of which side of the debate you are on.
This is a sincere recommendation as it’s clear that you are basing your position on bad information.

Medical marijuana and decriminalization should absolutely be on the table. It’s only a start but damn, we need to start sometime soon.
That is some papery looking pot. Definitely amateur indoor hydroponics and a low-bred strain, probably from seeds taken from a purchased bag of weed, instead of a known quality polyploidal hybrid from Holland or Australia.
