Just a weird ass outcome of the 2008/2010 election cycles. 2008 saw a lot of Democrats take over seats they normally couldn’t take, and 2010 saw a lot of Republicans take over seats they normally couldn’t take. Most expect Democrats to get a beating in 2014 (especially since they don’t do good in midterms as it is) and Republicans to get one in 2016.
Obama can still veto anything they pass, and there are not the 60 votes necessary to overcome the veto. So gridlock will continue. And if the GOP continues to get nothing done, from 201 to 2016, the electorate will toss them out in 2016. The voters want to get things done in Washington, not just play around pretending to sue the President and other GOP silliness.
“Obama can still veto anything they pass…”…So then Obama becomes the obstructionist.
Yes, hence what Fits says, “the more things change…” Now it will be Obama’s turn to be the obstructionist.
“So then Obama becomes the obstructionist.”
So?
I like that, hypocrisy knows no bounds.
“I like that, hypocrisy knows no bounds.”
I have no clue what you’re talking about and doubt you do either but do carry on . . . .
I’m sure you don’t.
I’m sure you don’t either.
na na na na na, your turn.
Won’t need the 60 votes.Just 51. Obama has set legal precedent that the Constitution does not matter.
Montana will not go to the GOP.
uhhh I live in Montana and Daines, pretty much as bad a candidate as you can get, is going to win. Daines got throttled in the debates, but a poor candidate from the dems etc but Montana is def going GOP.
Ahh can you just think back and remember the good ole times like when the GOP controlled both houses and the Presidency. Ahh the Bush years..goood times. That turned out well. Whats a huge terrorist attack and a couple wars? silly history.
And the greatest economc collapse since the Great Depression.
This economic collapse was a result of ridiculous bond buying, a sub-prime mortgage fiasco, greedy investment bankers, and every fee-oriented industry related to the housing market. (Oh, and Fannie, Freddie, and Fed Reserve, too)
While I would love to blame politicians for everything, this wasn’t the case here. In fact, blaming scumbag politicians on this one actually furthers the paradigm that they are actually powerful and possess the potential to be useful and care about sending the country in the right direction (rather than merely filling their egos and wallets). Sadly, we just know that is not true.
Bet they won’t match the carpet.
Good news everyone. Given a GOP Senate will be as effective and action oriented as teh GOP House – they’ll manage to – well – absolutely nothing for two years. Hence, we remain safe.
Here is what Tea Nut Cruz has to say on the subject:
Piggybacking on what House leaders have done, Cruz said the first order of business should be a series of hearings on President Obama, “looking at the abuse of power, the executive abuse, the regulatory abuse, the lawlessness that sadly has pervaded this administration.”
Sounds like a plan.
Fools. Why would anyone vote Republican-lite when they can get full flavor nuttiness?
“Republicans” Measuring U.S. Senate Drapes”
How about they just take off their sheets and use those for drapes and save us some money?
I’m afraid it’s
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
Won’t Get Fooled Again
Or will we
The Obama backlash is brutal
If republicans repeal Obama care
I for one will rejoice
Mayhaps a shitty president knows no color line
40 % approval ratings indeed
