AND AGAIN ANN TIMBERLAKE IS AT THE HEART OF IT …
By FITSNEWS || This website has had lots to say of late about one of the South Carolina environmental movements highest-paid activists, Ann Timberlake.
In our estimation, Timberlake’s self-serving hypocrisy knows no bounds. Her group endorsed its usual lot of left-leaning candidates this year, but Timberlake also appears to be going after other groups like her own Conservation Voters of South Carolina (CVSC), which is a 501 (c) (4) group, according to the IRS.
According to our sources Timberlake has communicated with other non-profit groups to express her displeasure about their comments – specifically warning them they were violating the terms of their non-profit status because they comment on legislation and policy (which they are permitted to do). Our sources tell us that Timberlake became very upset during these communications when the groups explained they are also 501 (c) (4) non-profits.
Maybe she should have done her homework before contacting them … and maybe she should have done her homework before making veiled threats about lawsuits against this publication.
Evidently it’s okay for Timberlake to comment on anything she wants to … but when one of her pet candidates like liberal Columbia, S.C. trial lawyer Joe McCulloch gets caught in a lie (and someone points out the obvious) she becomes combative.
For example, Timberlake also allegedly contacted one environmental non-profit because she was upset over this group’s positive working relationship with noted conservationist S.C. Rep. Kirkman Finlay – and had given Finlay kudos for his positive work on keeping our air and water clean.
Finlay, of course, is the lawmaker being challenged by McCulloch.
Timberlake cannot have it both ways. Any 501 (c) (4) group can comment on candidates and policy. If her group is going to be actively engaged in political campaigns, she is bound to run into people who do not share her opinions 100 percent of the time, and in such cases threats and ultimatums rarely work.
She should have learned this earlier. You may remember FITS reported when she allegedly threatened several members of the S.C. House ways and means Committee, referring to funding for the state’s Conservation Bank as “her money.”
No, it’s taxpayer money. Thankfully the House members we spoke with did not give in to Ann’s lowdown tactics.
Timberlake and her husband collectively pull down over $160,000 per year from the environmental community. Frankly, that’s terrible value for the money – seeing as Timberlake appears to excel only at alienating lawmakers and conservation allies alike.
Not only that, there’s an ideological problem.
One of Timberlake’s former board members recently told us “Ann and the Conservation Voters have become way to liberal.”
They also accused her of violating her own “friendly incumbent” pledge against Finlay.
“She’s attacked credible environmental candidates like Tom Davis in Beaufort when they were challenging incumbents with terrible records,” the board member told us. “Now an incumbent with a solid environmental record is being attacked.”
Several former Timberlake allies were also surprised to see a former lobbyist appearing in a mail piece in support of McCulloch – who himself is a former lobbyist.
“It sends a terrible message about our movement,” one source told us, referring to the mail piece.

“noted conservationist S.C. Rep. Kirkman Finlay . . . kudos for his positive work on keeping our air and water clean”
I wonder what specifically that was all about?
A handful of crazies listen to her. Kinda sad as she used to have real influence.
She, like those she despises, sold out for the money.
So to recap you are claiming Timberlake is losing her power because she couldn’t get the liberal conservation bank more funding. Then in the same breath, you’re praising Finlay for his environmental creds, which revolve solely around the conservation bank and giving it land.
Will, your hypocrisy knows no bounds, keep gettin’ them trust fund checks.
Just another good cause hijacked by ideological NAZIs seeking money and power. Who doesn’t want clean air and water? Bright, successful students? Mentally healthy neighbors? Yet many environmentalists, educators, and religious leaders are in these good causes to strip all the money and effort they can out of the people for their own gain.
You need to be careful Wil. This reads like you are most jealous of the joint salary. Hers is not all that much in the scheme of things.
Will is not at $50K yet in his private life (it doesn’t pay as much as his gubmint sugar-tit did). You have to understand the context of his remarks and the relativity of his income to theirs.
And, he’s mad he worked for skinflint Sanford instead of staying on Trikki’s good side and getting into her administration where the staff salaries are obscene.
And you are a sociopath. May you choke in your own vomit. *smiles*
You need to be careful. You think you know it all when you do not. *Smiles*
So this woman is threatening and attempting to intimidate others in the free exercise and enjoyment of their constitutional and civil rights? She is bonkers. Filing criminal complaints for her conduct would shut her up real fast. Based on my understanding of both state and federal civil rights statutes, what she is doing is unlawful.
What could be more conservative than conservation? Nixon-EPA
I’ve barely heard of her group. The Coastal Conservation League and the Southern Environmental Law Center do all the heavy lifting as far as I’m concerned.
The SC Environmental Law Project and Sierra Club do some good too.
But ALL of them rely too much on simply the legal issues and for the most part overlook the technical (scientific and engineering) mistakes, distortions, deficiencies, dysfunctions, and not-uncommonly outright failures of the regulatory, oversight, and advisory programs in government. Or of the administrative law appeal process for that matter. Thus the environmental community fails too.
Can you give more details?
There are many instances in many areas. Take for instance the leaking underground petroleum tank program. Unqualified staff make up highly technical criteria based on poorly founded assumptions and then the whole program makes important decisions using this simplified ranking system, with many decisions being to declare “no further action” even if substantial fuel is left in the ground to contaminate. If a person sued over the improper and irresponsible decision, the ALJ tends to judge not by the poorness of the decision and its lack of scientific justification and the lack of training and expertise of the agency personnel making it, instead he simply notes that it was sent to the correct bureaucratic program for a decision and thus is OK.
Then go to the next program and contaminant. Continue.
What? You folks know of the Sierra club? Slip n’ falls on the troll for any g’ment revenue stream that ain’t nailed down.
I think the SC just won a lawsuit regarding the mishandling of repermiting the Barnwell nuclear dump. Sounds environmental to me.
OK, fine, but who gets the money? … Betting the Sierra Club Lawyers are making a pile.
That pic is Ben looking for white pussy. Please.
They tend to like ugly and/or fat white women.
Goddamn he looks even more like a lunatic from the side.
There seem to be a lot of “threats of lawsuits against this publication” lately. Maybe the problem is …you?
So I’m okay with the total sham of “sources” and “unamed legislators” and “another person close to…fill in the person” but shee-jus Will this whole story is ‘allegedly an unnamed source said this possibly might have a chance of being a potentiality” fuck sake if you want to do a sham hit piece have the balls and to make up something specific like you usually do….

I’m Shocked! … Shocker! … To discover that lefty leaning, loose goodie, “progressive” Fascist elites would rely on IRS screwy rules to hammer their points and try to keep their rubber duckies in a row … Oh, wait
Good points, all. I’m all for the environment, but I hate to see people make threats like that for political purposes.
