Mick Mulvaney, Jeff Duncan, Trey Gowdy For Congress

By FITSNEWS || It pains us to say it, but it’s painfully obvious South Carolina has only a handful of elected officials who are worth a damn.

Fortunately three of them – Mick Mulvaney, Jeff Duncan and Trey Gowdy – are members of the U.S. House of Representatives.   Elected in 2010, these lawmakers have distinguished themselves as reliable pro-free market, pro-liberty votes – but beyond that each has also emerged as leaders in their own regard on specific issues.

Mulvaney – one of only a handful of actual economists in the U.S. House – has distinguished himself as a master of the budget process in Washington, D.C., helping craft the GOP’s “Cut, Cap and Balance” budget proposal.  Meanwhile Duncan has made a name for himself as one of the House’s leading proponents for energy independence.  Gowdy?  The former prosecutor has earned high marks for his pursuit of the truth with regard to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Benghazi scandals.

Mulvaney, Duncan and Gowdy have been representing the state’s citizens and taxpayers exceedingly well on the national stage for the past four years.  All three deserve to be reelected.

Who doesn’t deserve your vote?  U.S. Reps. Jim Clyburn, Tom Rice and Joe Wilson.

Not voting for Clyburn is a no-brainer.  He’s pretty much a socialist (although we’re not recommending anyone support his “Republican” opponent Anthony Culler, either).

Rice and Wilson? The bottom line is despite their rhetoric, both are fiscally liberal establishment “Republicans” who will go wherever the party leadership tells them to go.  And while Wilson voted the right way for a year or two after the 2010 elections, the arrival of Rice in 2013 provided him with the cover he needed to shift back to the left.

Which is exactly what he’s done …

Wait … those are six of South Carolina’s seven congressman.  Who are we missing?

Oh right … Mark Sanford.

Where to start with this guy …

Look, we rarely have issues with Sanford’s voting record, but he can’t seem to demonstrate consistent mental health to save his life.  So while he may be a reliable pro-freedom, pro-free market vote – right up there with Mulvaney, Duncan and Gowdy – he’s a chronic narcissist with the emotional maturity of a 12-year-old girl.

We’re not saying vote him out … but if an ideologically similar candidate were to run against him in two years, we’d be hard-pressed not to support them.

The Right is right to skewer the President on his poor stewardship and the multitudinous scandals, just as The Left likewise did to George W. Partisan politics has no place when talking about what is best for the Country.

Gowdy? “Pursuit of truth”– Yeah, right. Problem is the truth is what he wants and thinks it should be– based on what he reads on the internet and what the tea party tells him.

Are you going to change it into something that has more journalistic value than toilet paper?

Mulvaney is a thinned skinned jerk. He is only interested in promoting his political career. Writing bills that never have a chance of being enacted or endlessly voting to repeal Obamacare isn’t a good congressman in my book. He thinks nothing being accomplished in DC is a good thing. Never understood why someone who thinks govt is bad wants to be a part of govt .

Most bad government has grown out of too much government. ~ Thomas Jefferson

“Too much” is entirely subjective, not to mention T.J. had no idea how things would be centuries after his life.

T.J. is also the same guy who said people should not be restricted to just the government of their predecessors, which entirely fucks over the Tea Party’s insistence on limiting government as close to bare bones Constitution as possible.

So you’re a big government liberal, what’s new.

Jefferson said many things, some fit the liberal cause some fit the conservative cause.

As far as centuries, today JFK would think the Republicans are Democrats and that ain’t centuries.

The Tea Party, there’s some good and some bad, just like in the ACA.

So should we get rid of the Constitution and start over, no. But when a congressman said most of what we do here is unconstitutional, the constitution doesn’t mean much to congress does it.

Mine, Mick Mulvaney, is a good all around guy for me. Like Tim Scott, while I may not agree 100%, they have enough percentage of things I support to get my backing. As far as Sanford goes, whilst an embarrassment, as long as his voting record reflects your wishes what is the big deal? There are plenty just as nutty voting against your Freedoms so things could definitely be worse.

Mick is an all around good guy like you? Exposed a mean streak at that debate, I heard. Came dressed real casual. He doesnot respect the office.

I noticed Mulvaney didn’t announce that he would be at the USC-L forum or the debate with Adams. Not a word about it on his Facebook or twitter – but he mentions every restaurant he is going to be making a stop at.

Joe Wilson is as dumb as a box of rocks. No, he is just dumb. . This turd hasn’t sponsored any legislation in all his years, preferring instead to take the easy route and just co-sponsor everything put up by the GOP and then take credit for all he is doing. His stupidity is eclipsed only by that idiot Butch Wallace who just oozes slime and together those two look like Dumb and Dumber. Ever wonder why Wilson doesn’t like speaking to groups? It’s because he only has a 3 minute (if that) soundbite memorized and between words sounds like he is going to hyperventilate. Hopefully in two years it will be JOE MUST GO! I’m still LMAO about “Joe Means Jobs!” when he had to be persuaded to support Amazon’s 4,000 jobs in his district and is nowhere to be found on any economic development issue. Hopefully in 2 years the Lexington/Aiken crowd will find someone to run against this moron and return some integrity and intelligence to the District 2 seat.
