GOP LAWMAKER’S HYPOCRITICAL ATTACK DISMISSED AS “DISHONEST AND IRRESPONSIBLE”

By FITSNEWS || Incumbent “Republican” Stephen Goldfinch is the very last person in the South Carolina State House who should be questioning another politician’s ethics … but the state lawmaker is about to lose his seat so he’s apparently willing to say anything.

Goldfinch – whose chronic corruption and duplicity you can read about HERE – has decided against following the old Biblical admonition regarding removal of a “log out of (his) own eye” prior to addressing a speck in someone else’s eye.

Specifically Goldfinch – who has flat out lied about his criminal past – is attacking his opponent Vida Miller for allegedly being “charged,” “tried” and “convicted” by the S.C. House Ethics Committee during her previous stint as a state lawmaker.

Ethics watchdogs were incredulous at Goldfinch’s allegation …

“Rep. Stephen Goldfinch’s claim is untrue,” said John Crangle, the state director for Common Cause. “Vida Miller has never been charged, tried, or convicted of anything by the S.C. House Ethics Committee.  Nominal $100 fines for technical violations that are received after their due date result in routine reprimand letters from committee staff — not Ethics Committee charges and certainly not convictions.  As a member of the S.C. House, Mr. Goldfinch must know this, which only makes his claim even more dishonest and irresponsible.”

Dishonest and irresponsible … that’s Goldfinch in a nutshell.

Which is precisely why we endorsed Miller in this race …

If he’s willing to lie to the public so easily, I can assure you that he’s lying to you Mrs. Goldfinch. Come see me some time.

Goldfinch again! This guy opens his mouth and lies come pouring out. Bible has a word for this type of mouth. It was funny to read Chris Sokoloski’s (South Strand News) report, profusely brown-nosing Goldfinch, completely one-sided and dismissive of Vida MIller. Sokoloski should know better to check the facts first before printing Goldfinch lies. The point Vida was making, Chris Sokoloski, is not whether Goldfinch’s friends think the lawsuit was a “joke” or not…..but how Goldfinch settled quietly a lawsuit that has SERIOUS allegations, of fraud and abuse of office, and kept it out of public eye. I have a serious question to the legislature and the now worthless ethics commission…..do you think that fraud and abuse of office is a crime of moral turpitude. If so, Goldfinch must notify the legislature and the ethics commission (under penalty of perjury) that his terms of settlement of the treasure hunting scam with Kenon DID NOT include accepting the fraud and abuse of office. Moreover, ANY element of the settlement that could lead to suspension MUST be ‘self reported’ by Goldfinch and frankly, we all should be interested in the terms of settlement. That’s my view on such a very serious issue. People do not file lawsuits with serious allegations like this without sufficient evidence, Chris Sokoloski, and this was a federal civil case and not a “joke”.

What a bull shit post. Virtually nothing you said is correct or in context

If you can specify what is not correct and what is not in context….maybe we can have a discussion…shall we.

The voters give a dry crap about what Goldfinch’s friends think about the treasure hunting lawsuit. Sokoloski’s article is prominently quotes two of Goldfinch’s friends about their take on the case. Who cares what they think or what baked their brains. The lawsuit ended up being filed as a federal civil “other fraud” category. Vida is saying that given these serious allegations public has a need to know what Goldfinch agreed to….and I support that thought. How are the opinions of Goldfinch’s friends of any relevance or any bearing to the lawsuit settlement and to what Vida is saying. That was my point…and also Goldfinch’s response should have been verified by someone who knows about legislative ethics and not just print it without any verification. Got it?

They don’t quit and switch political parties one week before an election after fleecing his campaign donors for $100 GRAND…..like Tom Ervin. Vote Goldfinch. You can’t trust a Democrat.

But you can trust a guy who’s been charged criminally by the feds? Stunning logic, that. Party labels are good only for generalization in regard to political positions; shittiness assessments must be made on a person-by-person basis, and Goldfinch wins the shittiness contest in this race hands down.

Why so “stunning”? A vote for a Democrat on Tuesday is a vote for Obama and the continued destruction of America.

I will take Goldfinch over the corrupt president and the AG.

Lets see…ask Goldfinch how quickly money disappeared from ALS patients’ pockets and reappeared in Goldfinch’s pocket…ask Goldfinch how he made his money, by selling what? because the crap he blurts about “proving the efficacy of cord blood stem cells over embryonic stem cells” does not make ANY sense to me and some VERY intelligent people in that field I know…THAT doesnt make money, they say…how exactly did Goldfinch make his money..simple. Another question prompted by something I was reading on a website….where exactly was Goldfinch’s biotech company located in Charleston? Another question…Goldfinch says he sold his company for 1.2 million…what DID he sell for 1.2 Million..what was in the company to sell. You dont have to post your answers…just ask him the questions and be honest to yourself as a human being with some feelings for helpless and patients without hope. Mike is one of those with feelings as a fellow human and that goes beyond politics. So what you say IS stunning to me too.

I must add…for the same reasons I stated above, I find it also stunning that Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Tom Rice and Bruce Bannister campaign for Goldfinch and vouch for him. I do not take republican or democrat side and I have always voted for a candidate who best serves the interest of people…so I am wondering what do these guys think is in the best interest of people. Do they not have any better candidate in district 108 to put up a person charged with federal crime….its like saying to 108 “folks…Goldfinch is saying he will plead to a federal crime of illegally selling stem cells…people are in prison right now for the same crime but Goldfinch says he got a good deal and will avoid prison…there…that’s the best we have for you…deal with it…” Do they not have respect for the district 108 voters. I am ashamed for how our leaders are thinking.

Are you saying that the cord cells would not be as profitable as the dead baby cells??? And how quickly his co. & profits went away, reminds me of a South Park episode :-)

That’s the problem- situations like this require a little complex thinking. Electing Miller will have *ZERO* net impact attendant to Obama and Holder in SC. As a matter of fact, the two concepts are barely relative to each other. You would have a point IF the party makeup of the SC legislature was close and the Dems had a shot at taking over or ramming some kind of “Obama” legislation down our throats. Luckily, that’s not the case. Because of the legislature’s makeup, we have the luxury of being able to toss Goldfinch with zero risk of changing anything at the party level in Cola. In the US Senate, we enjoy no such luxury, which is why many folks who aren’t crazy about Graham will still be voting for him Tuesday- not worth losing the Senate over it.

Nope. You’re reciting the theme of the cadet honor code.

That means, [while a cadet] you must not [get caught committing a] lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.

If you break this rule, then you are very likely sent packing. To assume that a Citadel grad will not lie, cheat, or steal–ever–shows pure ignorance on your part.

Yep, it is super tight….like Goldfinch’s a*hole if you mention “illegal stem cell sale”. Voters are frustrated by the lack of clarity in Goldfinch’s criminal case and Goldfinch is exploiting that to the fullest with his lies and deception. Idiots in the MSM also have their heads spinning by Goldfinch’s masterful lies. Gotta hand it to Goldfinch, he has managed to fool them all thus far. Thankfully, many of us regular folks see through the lies and are spreading the word without listening to the dumb MSM. Democrat, republican or independent….we all should stand for truth and come against criminal conduct.

Oh, like Goldfinch trying to puff up Miller’s old administrative fines into some big deal while he’s looking at a federal charge? I see…

Reply
well-i-am into it October 29, 2014 at 7:21 pm

That’s the thing….Sokoloski did not even make an effort to mention it was an administrative fine for filing paperwork late. On one hand you have Goldfinch who settled a federal civil “other fraud” case quietly out of the public eye AND has unresolved criminal charges…..and god knows what else is getting ready to ram up his ass. On the other hand is Vida Miller with a long record of clean and honest service….see that Sokoloski…simple….even a caveman’s brain can think about the two options and say “OK, I am safe with Vida.” and promote the thought accordingly.
