This is about actions, not words.
Specifically, Sheheen’s actions after his gaffe, where he basically made light
of it, and the actions of feminist groups and the media who make nothing of an
incident like this when a Democrat is the culprit but would be employing a scorched-earth
policy if a Republican was the person whose words – and actions – were at
issue. It’s about hypocrisy, dishonesty, and character. Haley has little of
these traits, mind you, but the left is no more entitled a high ground than
Haley.
For him to say he was misunderstood, or it was a gaffe, is just untrue. He said it, he meant it, and if he simply apologized and said he should not have said it that would be one thing, but this is politics at its worst and the women of SC should call him out and vote against him on Tuesday. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue and actually it is not even a sexist issue, it is an Integrity Issue on Sheheen’s part.
