THEY’RE NOT JUST VOTING IN THIS ELECTION …

By FITSNEWS || Remember the rash of dead people casting ballots in South Carolina a few years ago?   Don’t worry if you don’t … it was a hoax.

In case you missed it, here’s our story debunking this ridiculous lie (one of many told over the last four years by S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley).

“Dead voters” was 100 percent pure malarkey … a transparently ridiculous rationale for the GOP’s transparently self-serving voter identification push.

While the “dead voters” story was a scam, though, just in time for Halloween we’ve uncovered another ghoulish Palmetto political tale.

Except this one involves a dead person actually contributing to a political campaign.

According to campaign disclosure reports filed this month, Derek Lewis – who is running for a school board seat in Greenville County, S.C. –  received a campaign contribution in the amount of $500 from a retiree named Thomas Patrick on August 9 of this year.  Patrick’s address was listed as 14 Woodvale Avenue.

The only problem?

Thomas Patrick died seven years ago.  Here’s his obituary (which includes the same address listed on the campaign disclosure form).

Now that’s a check we’d love to have seen stroked … (cue the crypt-keeper).

Obviously we don’t care who is running for school board in Greenville County, S.C. but it seems as though candidate Lewis has some explaining to do.

As for South Carolina’s deceased population: What’s next?  If they’re voting and contributing to political campaigns, it seems only likely they’ll be running for office soon.  Another write-in campaign for Strom Thurmond, maybe?

Rookie mistake. Everyone knows you filter funding through friends/family.

“Raising The Dead”…””Dead voters” was 100 percent pure malarkey …”…are you saying Zombies did or did not vote?

Zombies cannot have checking accounts because they can’t spell and they frighten the other customers…

I have it on good authority that the ‘witch doctor’ from Edisto raised and controlled all the “zombie” vote in 2012.
Have heard that Hillary has retained him for ’16.

Florence (SC) Man Charged With Voter Fraud
ABC News 4 – | October 07, 2004 | Gia McKenzie

Posted on 10/8/2004, 9:34:34 AM by 11th_VA

Florence, SC – A Florence man has been arrested on charges of using names and personal information of people – including the Florence mayor – on more than one thousand voter registration forms and turning them in to the county voter registration office.
Prosecutor Ed Clements the third says 44-year-old Terence Hines was taken into custody Wednesday on charges of forgery and multiple counts of fraudulent registration or voting.
The State Law Enforcement Division began investigating soon after Hines turned in more than 15,00 completed forms to the Florence County Voter Registration Office last week.
Voter registration and elections director Russell Barrett says a registration form for Florence Mayor Frank Willis sent up a red flag. Barrett says he is pretty sure the mayor was already a registered voter and had been for some time.

Voter fraud NEVER happens does it???

No one says that, pissant.
There is virtually no in-person, at the polls fraud.
What Hines TRIED was registration fraud.
Absentee voting is rife with fraud, usually Republican. Google it.

Most Republican propaganda is based on outright lies.

An intelligent person can be conservative. I’ll go that far, but I can’t see how anyone could buy the garbage spewed by the Republican party.

Propaganda helps, and they’ve got some pretty great propagandists. Limbaugh, Drudge, Ailes, Beck, Breitbart, etc. The party itself has gone south for several decades but the alternate reality-style rhetoric that Republicans spew now is incredible.

You ever have one of “those guys” on Facebook that constantly shares right-wing Facebook page pictures, quotes, etc.? You can see some pretty off-the-wall shit fairly quickly.

Yeah, to the point that they often share stuff from sites set up to intentionally put out disinformation and call it (in disclaimers that are tucked away somewhere in small print) “satire.” I’ve confronted several of them about that, and they just shrug it off. The attitude seems to be that if a total lie advances a good cause, it’s not a problem. So much for honesty. The other excuse is “Democrats lie too.” A damned shame what is happening to the GOP.

Hitler believed in the BIG LIE too. If his army got bombed to smithereens, he’d tell the people, Germany did the bombing to the enemy….LMAO…But just like the Democrat Party on Nov. 4, it caught up to Hitler, too…Hahahahaha…

And Idiot-dm..proves my point… (:

SCPD is NOT Emily Peterkin. But he has pretended to be her for a while now in a lot of his trolling posts to different blogs, newspaper sites, forums, etc, — using a fake Facebook account. That would be the one with the (I think) Jack Rickard (MAD) caricature of Angelina Jolie for an avatar.

Thanks for the info Buz..quick question, how do you know this and if true..who is the troll?

Buz Martin October 23, 2014 at 1:04 pm

GT is the troll, obviously. (A different troll than “Sandi Morals” a.k.a. “pogo” a.k.a. A Cast of Thousands, but they have an obvious wide-stance bromance going with each other)

The real Emily Peterkin, a rather attractive woman of early middle years, has an active Facebook account with her real photo as an avatar. The one GT has pretending to be her has posted messages to me on the Sun News’ story comments (which use Facebook commenting) almost identical to his comments to me here on FITS.

idcydm October 22, 2014 at 12:56 pm

Don’t disagree but if you change Republican to Democrat and conservative to liberal, I wouldn’t disagree with that either.

While the story is fascinating at it’s core, why does the candidate “…have some ‘splaining to do…”? Unless he “stroked the check” he’s done nothing wrong. He accurately recorded and reported the donation, beyond that, he’s in the clear.

The story I’d like to have told is who found this and why they were digging.

This could be a variation on Ken Ard and Dinesh D’Sousa and their straw donor schemes, which means it’s deserving of investigation.
Is ‘Heidi’ the dead man’s wife? And, she still has his name on checks when he’s been dead 7 years?

Reply
The Colonel October 22, 2014 at 12:59 pm

Heidi’s the widow. I have a box of checks that still has “Wachovia” on the check and that has to be at least 9 years old, with my last address on them and they still work (I might write 2 checks a year). As long as it was a joint “right of survivor-ship” account and the account numbers are good they’ll generally go through.

Heh.

Same deal with TBG.

Even had an old land line phone #.

Was asked once, “Is everything on here correct?”

Truthfully answered, “Except for the address, phone # and the fact that Wachovia doesn’t exist anymore…”

Wasn’t a problem.

Kind of like a new fangled counter check, I guess.
How those worked, I do not know.

TontoBubbaGoldstein October 22, 2014 at 4:54 pm

How those worked, I do not know.

Routing and account #s are all that really matter.

TBG’s routing and account numbers remained the same after First Union devolved into Wachovia and then turned into the fee charging cesspool that is Wells Fargo.

The Colonel October 22, 2014 at 5:54 pm

I’ve had seven banks since 1980 and never once changed banks, had the same account numbers the whole time.

South Carolina voter registrations are for no less than 10 years by law. County registrars cannot remove voters unless the voter or another notifies the office that the voter has moved or died.

Upon notification that a voter no longer lives at the registration address, the registrar can send a “Do not forward, return to sender” notice to the address on the books, and then flag the list used by the poll workers in case someone shows up claiming to be that voter.

In working on lists for candidates I have found several hundred voters who no longer live at their registration addresses, but only one case where it appears that they came back to vote at their old address, and that was within a week of the deed being signed.

I have also found a handful of dual registrations, with a single case where a vote was recorded for both registrations in the same election. Maybe the “zombie voter” hunters need to hire me.

Sorry I missed your article concerning my fundraising and soul-raising skills. I would like to say it was because I have recently returned from the Elesyian Fields on a dead raising event- Unfortunately the story is not nearly as fascinating as it sounds.

True, the estate of Tom Patrick made a donation to my campaign. Tom, my Father-in-law, did pass away 7 years ago, and this check, written by my very much alive mother-in-law, Hedi Patrick, was from a joint checking account that she still has open. When we recorded the donation, we listed both donors and only one showed up on the report. But, we have corrected this on an amended submission.

Impressed that FITS has such time on hand to dig into the campaign contributions of a lowly school board race. I would encourage anyone who is concerned about this race to check out my website http://www.Lewis4Schools.com and contact me directly should you have any further questions.
