SOUTH CAROLINA SOLICITOR EYES ADDITIONAL POLITICIANS AS PART OF STATE PROBE
By FITSNEWS || Two months ago S.C. first circuit solicitor David Pascoe was unbeknownst to most Palmetto politicos …
Now he’s heading up the state investigation of S.C. Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell – inheriting the powerful legislative leader’s public corruption case from S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson. Back in August, Wilson assigned the Harrell prosecution to Pascoe – but apparently not his role in the state-federal investigation of corruption at the S.C. State House.
That probe is ongoing … and Wilson is said to be very much a part of it.
But then there’s Pascoe … who has been given the responsibility of prosecuting Harrell for a very specific set of offenses at the state level (ostensibly independent of the federal probe).
What happens, though … when Pascoe receives information about similar state-level offenses allegedly perpetrated by other lawmakers? Does he broaden his investigation to include them?
Yes, he does … according to multiple sources familiar with the situation.
Pascoe is currently looking into offenses allegedly committed by “at least” a half-dozen state lawmakers, these sources tell us, including a trio of former “Republican” majority leaders of the S.C. House of Representatives.
Hmmmm …
“He wants to investigate them for the way they funneled/ directed money into their marketing businesses,” one source familiar with the inquiries told FITS.
Wow …
And again, Pascoe’s probe is in addition to the joint state-federal investigation, which is reportedly examining 1) the misuse of campaign funds by members, 2) abusing public offices for personal gain and 3) vote-trading (or vote-selling) tied to the controversial February 2014 legislative election that saw Jean Toal win another term as chief justice of the state’s supreme court (and possibly other judicial elections).
Stay tuned … this could get very interesting …

it will go nowhere. when you focus on a single individual, there is a small chance that others will abandon the lone defendant and victory can be achieved. if you broaden your case to include more influential figures, each with their network of cronies, you increase the chances that the mob will stick together and kill your case. in fact, “broadening the focus” is a good strategy for killing your own case.
You have heard of “Lost Trust” haven’t you?

The difference was they took all those Lost Trust guys down at once, before the crooks even realized there was an investigation.
This is even better, some of these crooks are sitting at their kitchen tables trying to decide “fight or flight”. They’ll conclude that they’re toast and maybe they can make a deal before someone else does…
It’s always good to create a “rats in a barrel” situation.
Please. The more people they pull into it, the more chances that several of them will turn on the others. Stick together? You think these people are a real brotherhood, where there is intense loyalty? Not when they need to save their own asses. Also, what The Colonel says below.
Word on the street is that the case is not being broaden by Pascoe, but the Feds are snooping around the State House including our Governor’s office.
One can only hope.
With the crap that goes on in the Obama Administration and Eric Holder I would have trouble voting to convict anyone of a charge less than murder or a Terrorist! DC is a Cesspool of Whale Dung!
Please indict the raghead. Please indict the raghead.
Going for the lowest common denominator, which is saying a lot for SC. I don’t like her policies but can’t wait to see y’all writhe as she thumps pretty boy in the election and serves another 4 years.
She will win. Probably. And then she’ll be indicted. Hopefully.
That is as racist as it gets you Punk!
Boo hoo…he’s racist…the world is now coming to an end.
I’ll bet you were the first to point out that blacks voted 95% for Obama when the Repubs lost the election too, right? We all know they are racists too.
Most everyone is racist to some degree. The question is, which racists are haters based on people’s color, versus simply recognizing differences? That’s the important question.
Oh please. Get over yourself.

So, who are 3 Republican House majority leaders with marketing businesses?
I thought Trikki said it was the lawyers who were the problem, not marketing types.
It’s doesn’t matter how far and wide he casts the net, they’ll always be sociopaths lined up behind those snared to take their place and run gov’t the way it’s designed to be run, for the corrupt and powerful.
Hope they get the Dem with a “marketing ” business. Between that and his “foundation” Wendell Gilliard has more scams going than anyone in SC.
Speaking of “foundation”, why is the contact phone number. for The Original Six a land-line based in Bamberg? Is this somehow tied to a Ms. Harrison?

Bruce Bannister is the House Majority leader but he’s a lawyer.

Merrill and Quinn operate political marketing companies. Maybe it’s them.
I’d like to see them go directly to jail, too.
Merrill, Quinn, Bingham
Just follow the money in the July 2010 Harrell PAC ethics report. What was that $50,000 to some foundation for gov excellence anyway? Google doesn’t even know the name…
I must object to Pascoe’s efforts. As a ham sandwich, I feel discriminated against!
Local sources are also quietly saying that Pascoe does not know what the hell to do with the Jean Toal element in this Harrell mess. Pascoe is smart enough to know that if he links her, his career as an attorney in South Carolina is over. However, on issue #3, there is too much evidence that Toal not only knew about the trading, but was instrumental in setting up some meetings.
And the Feds sent some silly facebook girl calling her an U.S. Attorney to investigate in South Carolina. I betcha Bill Nettles had to look long and hard through the facebook of U.S. Attorneys to find that one to investigate his buddy Toal.
So what?
Jean Toal was campaigning and manipulating for a job like all judges.
But, she didn’t have a legislative vote to trade or sell.
Where’s her crime?
What kind of retribution would she dare to lay on Pascoe that would not make her look corrupt and petty to her acolytes and the general public?
And, she is old and time limited. She knows that. Maybe, some SC lawyers get that, too.
He could run for any elected office in South Carolina if he slays the dragon named Toal – if she is at all involved in wrongdoing she should be held accountable for her actions
Got a letter from last week from the Haley campaign/find raiser. Noticed that the stamp on the envelope was labeled non-profit. Isn’t it illegal for politicians to use non-profit?
