Nonetheless, sources have described Kimbrell as a “go-to guy” who was being targeted by several 2016 presidential contenders for his connections to the “Jesus vote” – and the Palmetto State politicians who pander in search of it.
All of that changed this week when Kimbrell was arrested by Greenville, S.C. police and charged with first degree criminal sexual misconduct – for allegedly fondling and committing other sexual acts with a three-year-old boy.
In the aftermath of this story breaking, FITS has confirmed that Kimbrell – who as of this writing is still being held without bond – has been accused of molesting his own son, three-year-old Tristan Kimbrell. We’ve also learned the charges were pressed by his estranged wife, Kacy Kimbrell.
Yeah … let all that sink in.
As expected, a couple of entirely predictable things are happening. First, supporters of Kimbrell have launched a full-scale assault on the credibility of the mother of his child – including allegations that she abandoned her husband and young son three years ago.
Meanwhile Kimbrell’s opponents have relished the irony of such a Holy Roller being accused of such charges – especially given Kimbrell’s status as a leader in the state’s doomed battle against gay marriage.
Premature … all of it.
We don’t know the facts of the case, although Kimbrell’s failure to make bond is obviously not an encouraging first sign. Still, there will be evidence and testimony in this case and it’s important to let that information come to light prior to rushing to judgment.
If Kimbrell is innocent, then his accuser is guilty of the most insidious character assassination we’ve ever seen. If he’s guilty, though, there is literally no punishment we view as too severe.
And there’s no end to the public relations nightmare about to befall the S.C. “Republican” establishment – including Kimbrell’s buddies in Greenville, S.C.
All we can say for certain at this point is that getting to that resolution is going to be one high-profile, emotionally charged process …

I’ve always said these cases are the absolute worst. No matter what, one of the two worst things I can imagine has happened:
1. A child has been molested. The worst thing I can imagine.
2. A man (or occasionally a woman) has been wrongfully accused of molesting a child – the second worst thing. Unless you’ve seen someone who is innocent live through false allegations, or you personally have, you can’t imagine. I’m truly surprised the wrongfully accused don’t kill themselves more often given the depths of depression they often fall into.

It’s saying that bond for csc with minor 1st degree has to set by a circuit court judge by state law. Since circuit court is not in session daily, it take a little longer to get a bond set.
I’ve seen this exact situation play out before….scorned wife gets the husband thrown in the slammer by claiming he’s molested their kids. Took a lot of money, time & lawyers to get it straightened out. The dad missed years of his kid growing up, the cops treated him like shit in the beginning…and the community stayed away from him….all cause his wife wanted to hurt him badly and there wasn’t a shred of truth to it.

It may have happened but in my experience working in the court system a father sexually abusing his own child is highly unusual even among child molesters. Add to that the fact that his ex wife is the one making the allegation and there’s plenty of reason to withhold judgement.

are nothing more than an attempt to smear Kimbrell in order to prevent
him from having access to his son.

Using the word “without” was meant to imply that he was considered a flight risk or danger to others.
Just as the word “alleged” is now attached to those arrested even if there is a video of them committing the crime.
Unless Josh had gone before a judge who denied him bond (in which case the denial should have been stated) he was not being held without bond he was being held until a bond hearing could be conducted.
