SHE’S RIGHT! THEY CARE ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY …
By FITSNEWS || S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley has yet to take a definitive position on the latest Confederate flag controversy. Not that she really has to … her reelection is pretty much in the bag. Which is why her Democratic opponent, S.C. Sen. Vincent Sheheen, raised the issue in the first place.
The “Republican” incumbent did address the issue during a gubernatorial debate in Charleston, S.C. this week, citing its lack of impact on the state’s so-called “economic development” efforts.
“What I can tell you is over the last three and a half years, I spent a lot of my days on the phones with CEOs and recruiting jobs to this state,” Haley said. “I can honestly say I have not had one conversation with a single CEO about the Confederate flag.”
Interesting …
The Confederate flag dominated headlines during the 2000 Republican presidential primary in South Carolina – resulting in the Palmetto State receiving literally months of bad press. In April 2000, the State Senate voted 33-7 to remove the flag from the dome of the S.C. State House – and from inside the House and Senate chambers. As part of the compromise, though, a smaller version of the flag was raised behind a Confederate soldiers’ monument on the north lawn of the State House complex.
“Off the dome and in your face,” supporters used to say.
Haley has previously gone on record supporting the flag’s presence on the State House grounds, but during this election she’s been reluctant to take a firm position. Instead, she’s chosen to deflect … back to familiar territory.
In case you haven’t noticed, Haley’s answer to virtually every question she’s asked comes back to “jobs.” Hell, she styles herself as America’s “Jobs Governor,” and anybody who criticizes her is immediately assailed as being “anti-jobs.” It’s brilliant, really.
Of course as we’ve documented extensively, Haley’s economic record – fueled by hundreds of millions of your tax dollars – isn’t everything she’d have us believe.
As we all know by now, at both the macro and micro level … Haley’s promised “jobs” don’t always materialize.
Anyway, when it comes to the CEOs Haley has spoken with over the last three-and-a-half years – we don’t doubt that the Confederate flag is off their radar. They’re too busy shoving your tax dollars into their pockets to care about something so inconsequential.

Haley should be very concerned about the black vote. You have a candidate that is running against a bumbling idiot McMaster who is well liked. You have Haley saying to Mrytle Beach residents stop black bike week. This is not the last election where she had an advantage. She is going to loose this one the polls are wrong.
If only this was true. Sigh… Too much voter apathy in this election.
agreed
Not apathy. In the process of destroying America ,Obama has destroyed the Democrat Party.
Obama has not destroyed, nor is trying to destroy America. The Democratic Party is stronger than the GOP, nationally. It must suck to be so butt hurt all the time.
It is? The Republican Party controls the house, soon will control the senate, control the majority of governorships and both senate/house in states.
What you know bout “butt hurt”-my guess is plenty?
Governors ebb and flow, in most states a D succeeds an R and vice versa.
Democrats are all but certain to gain Governors this cycle. It is by no means certain that the Senate will go Republican, and even if it does, it most likely will only last until the next cycle.
Polling shows the GOP with lower approvals than Obama and Democrats generally.
Republicans have won the popular vote for POTUS onlyonce in the last 5 elections.
REAL CLEAR POLITICS PROJECTIONS
Governorships R 28 D 22
Senate R 53 D 47
House will add 12-18 seats to majority
Are you able to tell the truth?
Considering 2/3rds of those polls in the RCP average are from Republican pollsters many that just started in the polling business, you might not want to bet the mortgage on them being right.
BTW, 22 D governors would be a PICKUP of 1. That is giving the edge in EVERY close race to the GOP. Not going to happen.
The RP has to gerrymander districts, suppress voters and outright lie in order to win. If you can’t win fair and square, cheat. But, then he who has the gold makes the rules.
Huh? The perpetual welfare system that has enslaved blacks for 3 generations was set up by the Democratic Party for votes.
Without it there would not be a Democrat Party.
So gerrymandering, suppressing and lying are okay because of welfare? I’m willing to bet that there isn’t a welfare recipient that has over $ 500 in the bank. Believe it or not that money spends. There are a lot of “rich white folk” that have made millions off of welfare recipients. More than likely you have at least indirectly benefitted from the welfare system.
Oh yeah, the Republicns gerrymander all the districts. Just like the 6th Congressional District in SC, represented by that stalwart beacon of upstanding rightousness Jim Clyburn.
You Republicans ought to thank God for Jim Clyburn.
If his District weren’t gerrymandered to cram as many Black voters as possible into one District and hose folks were distributed among other districts, there might be two or three Democrats in the SC Congressional delegation ,instead of one
Than why don,t Republicans draw districts more fairly and balance ?
zzzzzzzzz………..
LMAO!!!!!! Blacks are against gay marriage and the perversion of being a homosexual/lesbian.
Democrats Sheheen and Ervin support gay marriage and perverted lifestyles.
They ain’t turnin out for these two clowns?
You are sadly mistaken about the black vote. I have been to many committee meetings and they are going to show for this election. ..bank on it.
Okay. Haley will only get 53% of the vote. Thanks for the info.
Keep wishing she will get that……:)
Sheheen does not support gay marriage. Wherever did you read that one?
Just like Hillary. I was about to mention that, but you beat me to it.
Sure he does.LIke Obama, it would be announced after the election. That is the way Dems roll. They present themselves as “moderate” to the voters at election time then once elected vote for leftist legislation that destroys our economy, national security and the moral foundations of this country.
“Haley should be very concerned about the black vote. ”
Why? It’s not going to change the outcome of the election.
Keep telling yourself that….its good.
Well no duh. They care about making money.
If the flag came off the statehouse grounds today, you know what’d happen tomorrow… nothing. The NAACP can’t even host a successful boycott because of it and they’re the loudest complainers.
THAT’S your story on the debate? Really?! The whole thing was hilarious with:
the libertarian candidate and black preacher candidate turning just about every question back to their desire for legalized pot
Sheheen being so nervous that he could hardly speak
Ervin visibly checking off items on his paper as he rattled them off verbally
Well..then there was the eyebrow raising, inappropriate comment by Ftis favorite boy about paying for sex.
“It’s 2014 and they’re still flying the Confederate battle flag on their statehouse grounds. We can go there and do anything we want, with our own workforce and their tax breaks. They will never know the difference.”
I’m all for putting it back up on the dome!
That huge flag sure looked good flapping in the wind.
History is history and all history is sacred. Sometimes history sucks, but why rewrite it and act like it never happened? That’s essentially what Vinny is proposing, here: let’s rewrite history to act like the civil war never happened, and SC never seceded. No, it did happen, as shameful as that may be. The flag should stay up. Some may take pride in it, but for others it serves as a reminder of where we have been, and gives us a chance to stop and be thankful for where we are now.
Mind you, there is also an African American monument on the grounds as part of the compromise.
If we take the flag down, can we pull that african american monument down, too?
I don’t think Haley understands the issue. What matters is people-not CEO’s. The Confederate Flag is a racially charged symbol of oppression, that has/continues to cause hurt feelings. The fact that business leaders have not specifically mentioned the flag does not mean anything. The flag is not a “business” issue. It’s a moral one.
What matters is people-not CEO’s.
CEOs have more money, that’s what matters for her.
Bingo. CEOs are the ONLY ones Haley cares about. People that can do something for HER. That’s why she styles herself a union buster. Boeing came here with their management team and the only SC hires are labor (which would have been unionized if in WA). So the jobs created for SC citizens are the ones she’s hell-bent on keeping wages and benefits down for.

She understands abortion and gay marriage are “moral” issues and why she will win with 53%-55% of the vote.
That’s not why she’ll win, Dipshit. Psst…SHE’s a fucking republicunt and this state is clueless.
I guess the good news is that comments like this will keep her from ever holding a higher office.
You can’t be pro traditional marriage and hold a “higher office”?
WE haven’t had a President yet elected as a pro gay marriage candidate.
Not even Obama was stupid enough to “come out of the closet” before the 2012 election-he would have lost.
You never know, I here Rommel’s trying it again.
Morals, she’ll never understand that one !
If the CEOs did mention the confederate flag, I’m sure she’d offer to support it’s removal. For the right price.
Right price? Tom Ervin has spent over 4 MILLION $$$$’s for 3% of the vote or less.
What is in it for him? Is he that fuckin stupid or….?????
Nikki Haley knows the value of a dollar, and the value of paying Sandi to post for her.
You work for LGBT Inc. What is the problem?
That can’t be. Sandi said her lawyer told to quit posting.
Sheheen is going to make “MAN OVER EVERYTHING!”.
SHAZAAM!
Wow. Talk about Haley missing the point. Her CEOS are the same kind of guys who do not hesitate to open a plant in an oppressed third world country as long as the deal is good enough.
Hemp Milk.
“I can honestly say I have not had one conversation with a single CEO about the Confederate flag, because most of the conversation is about the size of their dicks.”
SHAZAAM! SHAAZAAM! and BINGO!
Each of them has had the biggest she ever had to pleasure to engulf!
ya’s be wacist, dat flag hertz mu fealings, we rool now ant we gonna stamp our feets til we gets what wes wants, crackas!
Why is Fits blasting CEOs?
These guys are the vanguard of the so called”Free Enterprise “system he so slavishly worships.
You some kind of closet Socialist Fits?
The flag may not be on the radar of CEO’s but its removal may bring more jobs from those CEOs who are sensitive about issues like this. CEO’s are not oblivious about state action or inaction. Seems to me a CEO would want to placate as many people as possible in order to thrive. You catch more flies with honey…….
For a self described “Conservative” Trikki Nikki sure is into “messages” and “feelings”, i.e., governing by emotion, something Conservatives have long accused Liberals of doing. During the debate she not only refused to acknowledge that that flag belongs in a museum, she went on to describe how South Carolin had “fixed” all our image problems of the past, presumably as it relates to race.
“Conceding that South Carolina had suffered an image problem in the past, Haley asserted that the state had moved beyond those days.
“But we really kind of fixed all that when you elected the first Indian-American female governor,” Haley said. “When we appointed the first African-American U.S. senator, that sent a huge message.””

So the imagery of an Indian and the message we sent by nominating Tim Scott, erases what she thinks needs to addressed along those lines?
As a Republican, I’m just more and more embarrassed that she’s my Governor and will be for 4 more years. Every time she opens her mouth she demonstrates more and more just how ignorant and dumb she is. And we’ve long known that she governs by what kind of mood she’s in, and how she’s “feeling” and then sends a “message”. All hallmarks of liberals. If Democrats would nominate the kind of Democrats they used to in SC, say prior to Gov. Campbell, they’d mop the floor with her.
