I guess it depends on what you mean by quality of life. Kind of subjective. Generally I love it here. Politics and politicians are the same the world over.

Many of those rich well to do areas, people are fleeing them to escape high taxes and to find jobs. Where are they coming? Look at the blue sign in the photo above.
And where exactly are they finding those jobs? Maybe many of those people are retiring here and don’t need jobs.
You mean rich areas like WV, Kentucky, eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania? That’s where working age people are coming from to find jobs in SC. Mainly, along the coast. The pay might not be any better, but it’s more fun being at the beach.
Without retirees moving to the coast, the results would have been even lower. Actually, without the coast, SC would have nearly zero appeal.

I’ve lived in a total of 5 states, SC is by far the biggest shithole I’ve lived in and will be leaving once I hit retirement. The only good thing I have to say about the state is it has cheap gas.
