The voters need to be able to cast informed and educated ballots.
Why would Haley refuse to debate! She CANNOT DEFEND her horrible decisions, incompetency and out and out lies to the people of South Carolina.
Her MALFEASANCE in office is glaring proof of her failure as the State’s Chief Executive.
Haley does not deserve reelection!
Ervin is a far better choice and would prove he is head and shoulders above Haley.
Haley is afraid to debate and denies the voter an opportunity to see her failures first hand in a debate. Haley forces the people to base their votes on slick 30 second sound bytes, spun by professional consultants, paid for by MONEY RAISED OUT OF STATE IN GEORGIA, NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY!
Do the people want their Governor bought and paid for with money from NEW YORK and NEW JERSEY? My opinion is ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
Many have remorse for an Obama second term and an Ohaley second term will prove NO LESS disastrous!
THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA CANNOT AFFORD 4 MORE YEARS OF LIES, INCOMPETENCE, ETHICS AND MORAL MALFEASANCE BY HALEY!!!!

You have to hand it to Ervin, he knows how to run a campaign, even if he was doomed to lose from the start because of trying to run it as an “independent”.

3rd parties will never happen. It’ll be “no parties” before 3rd parties.

He isn’t trying to create a ‘third’ party, he is trying to get elected independent of party affiliation. That is different.

There is no requirement that a Governor be affiliated with a party. He does not have to form a ruling majority, as in a legislative chamber.

He is trying to do the same thing as Jesse Ventura did in MN and a couple of Governors have done in Maine.

An ‘Independent’ former GOP Senator is running for US Senate in S.D. and only three points down against a two term GOP Governor (and the official GOP nominee), if a poll out today is correct.

Look Vic, in the annals of gubernatorial elections, what % of 3rd parties, whether called “Independent” or whatever, have actually won elections?

I’m sure it’s a laughable %.

That’s my whole point, if it wasn’t for the fact he made one wrong decision up front, he’d actually at least be running a competent campaign.

Q: How many Incumbent Governors have been beaten in their own primary, when their opponent had just a few weeks to campaign?

A: An even smaller percentage.

If he made a mistake up front it was waiting too long to jump in.

Nah, he should have ran as a Democrat, nobody wanted to see Sheheen make an ass out of himself again.(including some Republicans)

Roberts is now ahead in Kansas and will win going away….the poll in SD is a joke however even if correct the independent candidate Pressler is as conservative on social and fiscal issues as Rounds the Republican nominee.

Ervin’s problem is that he is more liberal than Sheheen, not that he is trying to run as an independent.

Obama fooled the voters twice. Not this time and dems are finished.

Yeah FOX NEWS says Roberts is ahead, but no other poll does. Please. Even Fox had Orman well ahead less than a week ago.

FOX just dropped a bunch of BS ‘narrative-driven’ polls. Just before the election, they will ‘true up’, so they don’t look so foolish on 11/5.

Pressler endorsed Obama TWICE and supports gay marriage and Obamacare. He may well win, and would be better than Rounds. He may even caucus with the Democrats, if he wins. He has not committed one way or the other.

Ideally, Weiland will win, but even Pressler would be a big improvement over Rounds.

Weiland is getting a $2mm cash infusion, so it is anybody’s race at this point. One thing IS certain though, Rounds is doing terribly for what had been a ’shoo-in’ initially.

You are spot on, brudda. Haley just shot herself in both feet by refusing to debate. She is losing the trust of the voters at a fast pace.

No reason to debate. Voters are voting against Obama and the Democratic Party in November. Ervin is trying to elect Sheheen. This race is not close. No debate.

Build a New Fed Prison in SC October 8, 2014 at 2:33 pm

Like Lindsey Graham, Haley refuses to subject herself to a severe pounding that will show viewers and reporters alike that she does not know what she is doing. As long as ignorant voters keep electing people based upon their looks and bleached white teeth, America will just sink further down the toilet. Sadly, the entire nation is barely holding on by a thread. Remember when our economy went belly up and how it affected most of the world … the ripple effects? You think other nations want to be subjected to the consequences of that again??? This is not a matter for polite presumptions. We are talking about YOUR very own lives here that these politicians can easily affect one way or another. Nothing is secure in the least anymore. Even members of the US military have been getting LAY OFF slips.
.
Meanwhile, Haley has got to go. And the entire statehouse must be purged of every last fucked up and corrupt politician presently there. They must be punished with serious time in a federal prison to deter their replacements. All of this corruption is old and must be stopped by brut force. Clean up South Carolina state government and its special good old boy interest. Cut their nuts off and throw them in prison where they belong. This corrupt out of control shit has got to end – NOW.

The “debates” are laughable at best, being sponsored by a number of fish wrappers and ETV all of whom have been made obsolete by the internet.

I know him and his wife and they are smart and rich, self-made people. He will siphon votes away from Haley and Sheheen but how it will go is why I am excited about this race. We need a 3rd party. I’d like to see a “Christian Democrat” party, a 3rd party that is for the workers of this state, has moral values, and can fight for the average man, white or black or whatever.

Ervin a Christian? Pro-abortion and for state sanctioned gay marriage and he is a Christian?
The only “debate” needed is in Ervin’s head. “Traitor” tommy apparently don’t know who the fuck he is?
A former Democrat , allegedly turned Republican who quit that failed “gig” to run against the Republican candidate and the Democrat candidate whom his wife supported with campaign money in the last governors election.
Has spent millions for MAYBE 3% of the vote-taking votes equally from Haley and Sheheen.
His campaign is a joke and a vote for Ervin is a vote for Obama.
