Sheheen had a great chance at Boil and Stump, Georgetown and when Haley “vouched” for Goldfinch, to bring up many related issues. He should have let the dogs out on Goldfinch and taken this campaign to a whole another level. Haley’s weakness is her lack of control over her legislators and her administration at every level, with so many scandals from the house to every state agency. Basically, Haley has no control over her administration. Her governership has been so far : the leash is loose, I have no control…..cover up the scandals, i cant fix it…..I know who the crooks are, I’ll “vouch” for them and have them on my side……and if the law gets them, only then I will disown them. Its a third world politics…we deserve better. Why isnt Sheheen kicking Haley’s butt on all these….not that I support any one party…..just saying.

Notice how our neighbors (Georgia, NC, Florida), who also have a very colorful racial history, are among the top ten places to do business in the US and racism is still deeply rooted in their culture. You are going off topic. Many founding fathers profitted from slavery, as did many African warlords who raided enemy villages and sold them. The point is that in this country once slavery was abolished the prejudice against black people was institutionalized. It is evidenced in arrest rates, poverty rates, median income, and the list goes on. Every single race had slaves, but in THIS country(you know, the one we are currently ranting from) black slavery happened and the effects are still seen today. No one is asking for reparations or a signed apology letter from “the whites”, these people just want to move on with their life and stop dealing with unnecessary prejudices that remind them of a troubled time for their people. I don’t generally make predictions this far out, but PA will not be the only GOP governor to lose. Brownback is the 2nd or 3rd most likely to fall after PA.
The GOP leadership is saying a 12 seat pickup is quite achievable, so a 10 seat gain would actually be sub-par. I’ll concede a 5 seat pickup is probably the minimum. Either result would be a ‘victory’ in a second term midterm when losses usually run in the 30-50 seat range.
While it is theoretically possible for the GOP to gain 8 senate seats, they would have to win 11 out of the 12 competitive races. Even in a wave election, that is a very tall order. Only two incumbent D senators collectively, have lost in the last 30 or so years. At least twice that many have to lose, just in this ONE election for your prediction to come true.
With two states (LA and GA) likely headed to a runoff, it will be Dec. or Jan. before we even know the final result.

They should at least get the right flag in front of the State Capital. The one they have is the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia, not South Carolina. The one they should use is the South Carolina “Big Red,” Battle Flag (SC State Flag in Red color), or the Bonny Blue Flag (all blue with one silver star in the middle). Both of those 2 flags were used exclusively by SC during the Succession time and during most of the war.
Big Red has been used by SC Troops of all colors & backgrounds in every war, even prior to the Civil War. It is still in use in Afghanistan. It’s used by The Citadel instead of the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia. A colored State Flag is used at most SC Colleges usually using the Schools colors (USC’s is Garnet and Black, Clemson is Orange, and etc.). It represents the fighting sprit of SC Citizens of all colors and all backgrounds. I recommend it over the traditional Battle Flag of Northern Virginia, which has been purloined by many unethical people for their own misguided purposes.
Bonnie Blue would be better imo. it wasn’t used by the Klan, and it’s more appealing to the eye.
