Everyone knows that Connor is a dick and a fraud.

As I write this, unseen ballistic missile US submarines are on station 24/7/365 to protect Sic Willie and his family. Yet Sic Willie does not call this a “patriotic” duty. They occupy no foreign countries. They are not intervening in conflicts. They are there to ensure that cataclysmic conflicts do not occur. “Disastrous results” ? Speak much Russian Sic Willie? Why is that?
Because just like his hero and military / foreign policy mentor and guru (Ravenel) he has NO FUCKING IDEA what he is talking about. There are soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines all over the world, most whom are doing jobs that FITS and their ilk don’t understand (or even know about), the accomplishment of which keeps the world’s oceanic shipping lanes safe for commerce, checks potential aggression (by mere nearby non-invasive presence, BTW) by kooks in Europe, North Korea, etc., and generally protects American interests by helping keep order in an increasingly globally connected world. The anti-military cool-guy shtick is really getting tiresome, but it’s luckily like many of the other fringy opinions forwarded here- it lives down in the 5-7% tin-foil hat range of support so it’s not worthy of some 20-message back-and-forth debate. It’s just stupid and tired.

I – gulp – agree with CNSYD, but for the record it’s worth pointing out that part of what makes Connor such a plump fraud is how he wears his military service on his sleeve while in fact several of those who have served with him have opined that he is a major league pussy opportunist who seeks every cushy assignment he can while deployed. Any beat cop in America puts his life at risk more in one day on the job that Conner has in his military career.
I’m with ya, but that’s not what CNSYD was addressing. You can’t use one fat, self-promotional Nat’l Guard guy to make the leap to a position that makes service in the US armed forces unpatriotic. There are chubby, self promotional bloggers too, but that doesn’t render all blogging invalid. FITS has ZERO understanding of how the existence of our military keeps us (and the world) safer. Only fools think that the world will just take care of itself and provide for global commerce, safe international travel, financial market stability, etc.

The military isn’t the only place where people get passed over on promotions for seemingly stupid stuff. If you don’t feel that you’re getting the promotions you deserve, work somewhere else.
I’m not saying Connor shouldn’t be upset, I’m saying he should do whatever he feels is necessary and stop whining about it to everyone else.
He is a Republican. He does not know how to do anything that does not come with a Government check.
Bill is a decent honorable guy that deserved the promotion. Smells like Grahgamnasty revenge to me. How dare a mere mortal question him.

Bull-shiiiittt, Rouge-boy. Connor is nothing more than a blow-hard REMF. The people he served with are small-town cops, sheriff’s deputies, mechanics, and small businessmen. They predicted when Connor first announced years ago that no one who served with him would stand on a platforn with him. Very prescient. And there’s no doubt he violated his marriage vows. Not just a REMF, but a whining, blubbering excuse of a man.
Even if what you say is true, which I doubt , He has done what is necessary to be promoted. Therefore he should have been promoted. To deny him the advance is what I was questioning. How come after 23 years of what has to be acceptable service he suddenly isn’t qualified for something ? The Grahamnasty stink is all over it. I know Bill as an OK guy and will stand by my statement.
